Lord Chaos

Humans? Ha!! Fairy tale creatures used to scare children.

Pallas

Ohhh this is some worldbuilding I've been wondering about

Aulderbane

*distant Goofy yowl*

Greg Walter

People REEEAALLY oughta put a fence around the pillars xD

Othello

“Uh, guys? Still trying to suck dick here.”

RandomGeekNamedBrent

Woah so a world without war is also a world without boomers? Sweet. (Or was the reproduction dip before the war enough that everyone who died in it wasn't born?)

Arc

Everyone knows you do your best thinking with a cock in your craw.

hippiewerewolf

The reverse world building, or ret-con "world explaining" is a really fun mental exercise, especially for things like DnD.

Grey Hawk

"I'm only human after HYUCK!"

Daddy Bearcat

Not all "boomers" are the same, you know... 🤨

rickgriffin

...why would you assume that's what I meant

RandomGeekNamedBrent

The was meant as a half joke based on the fact that the boomer generation started with birth years at the end of WW2. so if the sudden decline in reproduction happened after the 50s event rather than retroactively to those who would have died, it would coincidentally mean that generation happens to be massively reduced in this world versus our own. It wasn't meant to imply that was your intention, sorry

RandomGeekNamedBrent

I do, sorry. I guess it was a lazy use of "generational conflict" humor based on a coincidental lining up of timeframes.

Arid

This worldbuilding for such a silly world is really fun. The "human"! Lmao!

Jim the Otter

Evolution, according to Walt Disney.

Jim the Otter

So Goofy was a proto-furry. THAT'S why his kind didn't have tails!

Hedronal

So if I'm reading this right, the people that would have died in a war in the old reality were never conceived in the new one?

Poofin

"If I just focus on sucking this dick, i can ignore the nightmarish epistemological implications of a world where history is malleable!"

NateN8

If Rick's response is taken into consideration, while those people didnt die, the overall population numbers couldn't have been altered, so to get around that, the new reality writes so that the reason the number remained the same despite the victims getting deleted off the planet was that a bunch of people decided not to concieve at the same time, thereby maintaining the statistic down the line

loved_and_loving

I didn't think of that! I thought it might have been something like "with no world war 2 there were wasn't a post war baby boom", but "these dead people never existed because they were never born" does make more sense.

loved_and_loving

I find the reconstruction of a human really interesting! The recreation is almost like xeno-palientology, non humans trying to recreate species which no longer exist from leftover information that survived. Giving them fur since all species have fur, explicitly noting the lack of tail, putting dog ears on but placing them lower down on the head where human ears would be, giving them a snout because all species of beings in the world have them; all those factors are reflections of how the world they know has influenced their ideas of a world they don't know.
