Empires was a setting I developed in... actually probably started back in middle school. I largely dropped it even before I started Housepets, despite musing on bringing it back in one form or another, the most likely idea being to turn it into a TTRPG. But that'd require me to actually want to GM a game and have a system that is compatible with my vision for it--oh look I'm playing in a game of Pathfinder 2nd Edition and am extremely invested in trying it out for myself now. Might even be able to start within a month >.>

I'm warned that the thing I should not do when planning a TTRPG is over-prepare. This isn't overpreparing! I ONLY drew a reference for each of the setting ancestries, created conversion tables from Pathfinder ancestries with additions and alterations, converted those into Foundry (learning Foundry's language), wrote a few extensive design documents, bought, learned and designed several maps in Wonderdraft okay I might be overpreparing

YES this setting is where the danroo came from.

Current world design doc

EDIT: that was the wrong version of that map

The Caroul definitely draw my attention... I'd like to learn more about this setting

Pel

Hey, I recognize the danroo, you used to use a mascot of one of those didn’t you? The Andorez is soooo up my alley

Meigo

What a beautiful map! So well crafted and thought out

Ronfrax

You are amazing, Rick.

Ronfrax

This already looks like an amazing and engaging place to be in. Also yessss quadruped race <3

Gryph Ranshire

Ooooo, this looks quite exciting. Speaking as a new-ish GM, I wish you luck on this venture!

William Swiftfoot

Yo that looks awesome, and I hope it becomes a thing! Sounds like an awesome world!

Magitechnician

Ooo sick map. And I love the Mongrels

Quinn Valkyrja

Remember, any TTRPG system is only a baseline. If you need/want to change the rules, or make new ones, that's half the fun

Thwaitesy

I'd play as either a Bagnor, Caroul or a Trusk.

P4-34-M0

I can point to some good systems if you don't want to design your own from scratch

The_Racr1

The russk is the only one with a female looking representation in that line-up.

The_Racr1

A suggestion i would like to make is build the world and then basically let the players loose in the world and record what happens to later turn into a comic at your leisure. Make sure you get permission from the players beforehand.

Kia Vaderkit

The trusk look really cool. I like them!

Thwaitesy

Same. I'd totally play a Trusk.

Russk are herm. I did a male-only lineup bc I was lazy but they don't have only-male body types

Uh.... what happened in the lost city of Muria that turned a significant perfect circle around it into an ocean?

Korphyn

And are The Gate Islands so named because they're the only remaining barrier on that side, or because they've been settled to prevent oceangoing travelers from going somewhere they shouldn't?

Korphyn

I don't know why, but maps done on hex grids always makes me want to explore an area and learn everything there is to know about it - and maybe even discover things nobody else has found yet.

Ian

If I had to guess, I'd say Muria is now inhabited by the Taugger, as they appear to be based on tiger sharks, and the Gate Islands are set up as kind of a checkpoint to defend the Crystal Sea from being invaded by sea from unwanted visitors.
