Oh no I hope little child-Rick knew about browser histories back in the Ancient Times of Yahoo Answers

So This Is When It Began™️

David Lee

"well if naked ladies is sinful I will look at naked boys instead. This seems to elude all the ideological traps laid for me here"

Shiny Umbreon

Holy shit how does anyone think "my kid got a D so clearly I need to homeschool him without actually being there myself to fix it" is a good idea

Stoker

I've related to a lot of these pages but these, these in particular, I especially relate to

Bryna

Damn, I resonate with this hard

If there's one thing I don't miss from my mormon upbringing it's all of these mental gymnastics to try to make sense of it all. (j/k there's a lot I don't miss, but this is definitely one of them)

This is probably why Grinder always crashes whenever there's a big conservative rally at a location.

Eyup you are doomed.🤣🤣 But like a song says. "I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe, but at least I'm enjoying the ride." Grateful Dead. 1983

Well, most parents of the time, they weren't terribly good at computer stuff, so they would never think about looking at the history.

One of the biggest things my parents did was enforcing "No mixed bathing" on us as kids (no men in the pool if there's a woman in the pool). Never explaining to us why this was necessary, other than that's what the preacher taught, so the parents must follow. Also, my parents told us we weren't allowed to dance, only explaining further when we were fully grown, that stuff like square dancing was fine (we weren't allowed to question our parent's decisions as kids, and if you did, the only answer you got was "Because we said so."). Basically, in 3rd grade music class, I likely told my parents that we were going to learn to dance (we did square dancing in class) and they told me I wasn't allowed to dance, so that's what I told my teacher.

My dad was a computer expert. He basically taught me how to use a computer.

Uh oh...

Unfortunately there's a good size niche of people who believe that. Or they believe they can do a better job then someone trained to do that.

Shiny Umbreon

I could understand that, but that's not even what they're doing here, they're not doing any job at all and just dumping a bunch of videos in front of him that they even knew were wrong in their eyes

Matthew Crabtree

The perfect storm of austere upbringing and artistic child left unsupervised with the Internet.

You know from my admittedly limited knowledge of the bible this feels very... sacrilegiously dogmatic. By that I mean that they seem to have a very narrow view of Christianity and that if you don't do the whole rigmarole in a specific way you fail salvation.
