March Print-of-the-Month!

This picture is a bit different, as it is technically a YCH for Northern-Crosshair and Ten Pound Hammer; I figured if I was going to do a rendered picture with generic characters, I COULD make them SOMEONE ELSE'S characters (within reason); in any case, in the future I will be posting notifications of YCH sales on Patreon first just in case anyone is interested.

(And in case you're wondering the price and why it wouldn't just be folded into the Patreon tiers, well that's AT LEAST $200 for a front-and-center character like that, and I don't think I can fold this into every month or let anyone sit on the top tier as much as they want, so it'd just be easier to sell first-come-first-serve. Besides, if I have BG characters in these prints I could dole those out to the $10 tiers)

Nice job on the lighting and shadow! Pose and layout is fantastic as well.

That's "Your Character Here", a way of selling commissions by sketching out a scene first and then selling character positions for other people to fill

With how organic they both look, I almost wonder if this is a living carnival ride. Like they aren't just hand made. Which then leads me to ask, do the poles going through their body hurt at all? :3

Will every YCH that you sold be getting one of these? And are they all going to be a POTM? I love your art to death, but this slightly rubs me the wrong way. Not all of us could afford the YCH and making it the POTM for your patrons is like rubbing it in our faces that we couldnt afford it. Forgive me if this comes off as whiney.

You're upset that I sold a commission to someone else?

N

No, it isnt that. It comes off as double dipping I suppose.

N

Sorry pressed enter too soon. Allow me to elaborate. You sold this YCH and it is also your Patreon's POTM. I cant speak for everyone, but POTMs are kinda special. They are usually of your characters and are unique to Patreon. Making it a YCH somewhat cheapens the feeling.

I guess I don't see it like that; people want commissions from me and I would love to give them commissions except I do not have time to do so, but since I'm making a full-color picture on my own time every month anyway, combining a YCH with the Print of the Month would give people the best of both. Not only do people get to buy full-color commissions, but I'm incentivized to make sure it is print-worthy and as good as I can make it. I mean. It's not like I'm selling ad space on my prints. It's still for supporters. Besides, I'm not going to do it every month. I still will have ideas for pictures for my individual settings, but I mean, I figure I could get some more variety in too if I was just otherwise going to create a generic character for a given picture. Why NOT make it someone's character? I don't see how that cheapens it.

I suppose it depends on what your patrons want to see. I would love for you to open up for commissions again and I know your time is valuable. It just comes off as, someone paid X for this piece and now its kinda repackaged to us. There is a fairly large difference, at least for me, between getting a print of the characters you've created and getting a print of someone else's character. There is certain level of attachment to the worlds and characters you have created.
