New Year's Resolution (Patreon)
Content
This year I am going to do the thing that I have been putting off for some time due to lack of funds (and my prohibitively solitary nature and desire to work on my own chaotic schedule but we're ignoring that), but well, that's no longer a concern. I want to start building a creative team.
I have never done this before. I only have a little experience in working with other people when I made the Hayven Celestia anthology, but this is nevertheless something I've wanted to do for a long time in terms of being able to support talented people and also be able to produce my work at the pace my brain prefers.
So here's the deal: I'm planning on doing a lot more than just comics and illustrations. I will want to eventually expand into game development and, should I be so lucky, animation, but that's all still keeping expansion in mind. My work ethos still revolves around creating worlds and populating them with clear, expressive characters first and foremost, and ideally this is a starting point from which these future ideas can perpetuate.
This will be paid, and this is what I'm looking for in terms of creative assistance. Keep in mind that I know I can't get ALL of these at once, but I definitely would like to shore up as many of these as I can get.
Art
- Colorist (big one, looking for this skill PRIMARILY)
- Background artist
- Thumbnailing and storyboarding
- Other production work (supplementary sketching, inking, drawing crowds, secondary materials like character sheets etc)
Writing
- Marketing materials and social media, like this post here (Biggest writing skill I'm looking for because this stuff is hard!)
- Script doctoring / editing
- Other additional creative writing
There's other stuff like secretarial or management work that I'm more than willing to pay for but is still going to be a ways off; for now I'm focusing on getting a creative team rolling.
