The State of Emergency ending is good in terms of the physical & emotional woes felt by the general population caused by the pandemic coming to an end. As for the AI Expansion, I highly doubt we would ever get to a point where the function & consumption of the public would be hindered on a large scale especially considering how much our economy is reliant on it. The function of the public being basic necessities, food, shelter, transportation, and utilities. The consumption being everything pertaining to leisure. Also, when I say the public, I'm mainly referring to the large portion of the U.S. population that are Debtors, as Debtors stimulate our capitalist economy the most. To add, I'm a Blue-Collar worker and I haven't felt any of the effects of A.I. yet as there are still plenty of jobs available to me by way of Direct Hire & Temp-To-Hire positions through Temp Agencies. The Universal Basic Income idea is possible... though something bigger than a Pandemic would have to occur before some of our governing bodies like the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Department of Commerce would address it as something that needs to be dealt with. I also agree with you Seren on Reparations although it will take a lot of us (Black Americans) to approach the Government with the proposal in order for them to consider it. As the recent situation involving Black Americans seeking reparations with the Tulsa Race Massacre fell through and it makes me concerned for California's Reparations Task Force, as we deserve compensation for the atrocities against ALL of our people. Last thing I wanted to comment on was the "Free Money" discussion you made light of again in this podcast. I'll say that the difference between Free Money through Inheritance, Tax Breaks, and Stocks & Bonds Returns vs Stimulus Checks is that the latter is mainly used to promote the function & consumption of the percentage of the population that are Debtors. The Free Money afforded to people through Inheritance, Tax Breaks, and Stocks & Bonds Returns are rewards for participating in a capitalist economy correctly.
