Happy New Year!!! I’m so excited to announce the launch of my project [unhurried] {witness}!
A curation of digital memories, this piece was created through the African American History, Culture, and Digital Humanities Initiative Scholar-Artist Residency program at the University of Maryland (AAHDHUM). [unhurried] {witness} was conceived during lockdown to explore Black play as a form of healing and collective witness of Black American culture.
My inspirations included tumblr/MySpace, Grandma’s house, ASMR, web 1.0, Covid play, inside/outside, adulthood/childhood, and play/work dichotomies.

Designed to be interactive, a series of questions on your memories of the digital experience can be found here: https://unhurried-witness.aadhum.org/respond/
All answers will be recorded anonymously and displayed in the guestbook here: https://unhurried-witness.aadhum.org/guestbook/
Thank you soooo much to anyone that checks it out! This project has really been a labor of love over the last year and I’m thrilled with how it all came together.
