Asgard
–Magdaran Bael–
He felt, before he saw Thor waking up, the surge in energy so noticeable that he was not surprised to see Vali’s fling form abruptly veer off course and head straight to where Thor was resting. He reached before Vali, of course. She didn’t acknowledge him as she landed right in front of Thor, who was sitting on the ground and staring in the distance, looking quite lost.
Ofcourse, she wouldn't want to address the bomb he had just dropped into her lap, which was fine. This just meant that it would be a while until she barged into his Garden to eat all his ice cream, at least until she was ready to have an actual conversation instead of deflecting from the actual problem and chasing things that she had very little chance of achieving. Hopefully, she would be able to activate all the OP abilities that Divine Dividing had hidden away, before she even thought of attacking Rizevim.
Leaving that be, he focused on the here and now, which was a disoriented Thor who did not respond to their arrival. Knowing that time was of the essence, he went first: “Thor?”
Mjolnir rested next to Thor, but just like Thor, it seemed to be resting. When Thor did not respond to the first greeting, he repeated the word, and when the same happened, he decided to take the next step and send a bog standard ball of his destruction towards the god.
Thor didn’t even react as the ball hit his arms and dissipated on impact, as if the ball of his Power of Destruction was just a normal bubble that burst upon impact. It was…disconcerting. Yes, that was the word he would use for the feeling he was experiencing right now. The feedback he got from his power was the same as the first time they both sparred. Back then, he was barely a Satan Class Devil, with very little combat experience. Right now, he could eat 10 of his previous version for breakfast. Hell, Vali of now could defeat him from five years ago.
Sighing, he shoved a more powerful version when Thor did not respond. When that too did not work, he just walked forward and shoved Thor, which coincidentally gave him a measure of Thor’s current power, and let’s just say that he was glad he had enough self control not to flinch at what he was sensing.
Because, what in the fuck?!
“Thor?”
Only then did Thor seem to snap out of whatever daze he was in. He stepped back as Thor stood up, Mjolnir seamlessly snapping into his hand with a heavy thunk. Thor took a look around his home, and with a flash, he was gone, leaving behind nothing but a white flash of lightning.
“Holy shit!” Vali cursed, or more like, yelped at the speed, unconsciously taking several steps back. His hands clenched at his sides as he looked at the spot Thor was occupying before he disappeared. It was only his curtain and the awareness that he had inside it, that told him that Thor was where Odin was, deep underground.
After spending a few seconds there, Thor flashed once more, appearing right at the edge of the curtain around Asgard. Getting the message, he withdrew his curtain, the entire thing contracting as he flew in the air.
Thor passed through the curtain seamlessly, without any protection whatsoever. Show off.
The curtain contracted and finally attached itself to him, taking on the shape of his cloak, before he dispelled that cloak as well, before falling down to the ground, right next to Vali, who was looking straight up.
A crackle of thunder spread all over Asgard as he looked up as well, finding a white star in the sky instead of Thor, with lightning arcing all over the night sky, creating a hauntingly beautiful sight. Before he could even comprehend what Thor was trying to do, Azazel appeared in front of him, all armoured with his Artificial Sacred Gear, Light Spears already summoned and face set in a murderous snarl, only to pause as he saw none of the devastation he expected.
Instead, he saw Vali and Magdaran, both looking straight up.
He looked at Azazel and smirked, “You are late to the party.”
Azazel opened his mouth to reply, but a loud crackling sound made him tense and look up in the air, his eyes widening as he saw what Thor was doing. Well, he didn't know exactly what Thor was doing, but he could see the telltale signs of some kind of spell.
Otherwise, Thor was wasting an awful lot of energy for just some flashy theatrics, which he knew Thor was not a fan of.
Right now, with Thor as the epicenter, the white star, hundreds of arcs of lightning were rapidly covering the entirety of Asgard’s sky, expanding at a rate fast enough that within minutes, the entirety of their vision would be blanketed with white lightning. The energy being gathered was truly enormous.
Was Thor trying to create a barrier around Asgard, just like he did? Only this time with lightning? If so, how? As far as he could tell, Thor was never the magically inclined type, and he sincerely doubted Thor would stay on Asgard full-time until Odin woke up or something. So, what was Thor’s goal here?
“What is he doing?” Azazel asked, his Sacred Gear gone; so were the Light Spears, as the entirety of Asgard was now bathed in a bright white light. Even so, Thor did not show any signs of stopping.
“Beats me.” He could feel Vali shrugging at the question.
“Well, whatever it is, you two would do well to stay the fuck away from it. I don’t think I need to tell you guys about the consequences of even touching that.” Azazel warned with gravitas in his voice, and honestly? He was right. The white lightning above them was starting to feel a whole lot similar to the Divine Lightning bolt. A single direct hit might just put him out of commission. As for Vali? It would be fatal for her. Undoubtedly.
Yet another crackle of lightning had him preparing a teleportation spell, only for a resounding roar to echo all across Asgard. It was Thor. There was silence for a second, where the air itself seemed to be waiting with bated breath, before there was a flash of white, as all the accumulated energy was released in one go.
Knowing that any teleportation attempt would fail, he flashed towards Vali and raised a barrier around them. Azazel had done the same, so thankfully, all three of them were under his Power of Destruction. Azazel crushed something and threw it at his barrier. He let the dust pass, as a semi transparent yellow barrier appeared atop his own barrier.
“A gift from Odin,” Azazel explained as he realised that it was Odin’s runes, which should work a lot better than his own hastily thrown together barrier. Even so, he kept his own barrier up.
Looking back to check on Vali, he saw her, down on her ass, looking at the white sky with wide eyes and short breaths, likely terrified of just how close death was to her. Knowing that there was no time to talk to her, he looked up as the white star dimmed a bit, showing him…
A Tree?!
Yup, Thor had just summoned a Tree in front of him, made up of the same white lightning. Thor’s smoking form was visible now, with the massive lightning arcs gone, but leaving behind a tree in return. Then, Thor went ahead and slammed Mjolnir into the Tree, shaking the entire space around them.
It seemed as if the entirety of Asgard was shaking. Cracks appeared in the sky, far larger than the ones those shadowy tendrils used. This time, the tendrils were big too, snaking towards Thor, who seemed completely oblivious to the threat approaching him. Even if Thor was massively more durable than before, these things could easily interfere in whatever it is that he was doing with that tree.
Before he could warn Thor, though, Thor smashed Mjolnir into the tree once more, shaking everything in sight, but more importantly, sending a wave of energy that disintegrated not just the black tendril but also the massive crack in space behind him. He half expected a crack to open up someplace else, but it did not happen.
Unfortunately, Thor did not show any signs of stopping, and he was not sure if it was wise to stop Thor from doing whatever reality warping magic he was doing in respect to the World Tree.
Because what else could that tree possibly be?
All of this happened because Thor ingested a drink infused with the essence of the World Tree. The Divine Lightning bolt, then Thor somehow woke up and summoned a Tree with his own power. It must be linked somehow.
Either way, Thor hit the tree once more, and again, and again, until Thor’s form was a blur. The shaking around Asgard had stopped entirely, but the magic above them continued to happen until, eventually, Thor stopped, Mjolnir raised high in the sky. A beat of silence before white lightning emerged from everywhere in the sky and hit Thor, lighting up his hammer.
“For ASGARD!” Thor’s war cry was followed by a deafening gong that lit up his vision.

Inner Sanctum, The Garden [A week later]
–Magdaran Bael–
“And that’s how Thor actually ended Ragnarok before it even arrived.” he rolled his eyes as Vali regaled the resident Zagan with the embellished tale of how Thor got a power up, met Odin, realised what was up, and then promptly did something to destroy the prophecy that said that Asgard was prophesied to be destroyed.
"Ehh! Really?!" Aldric exclaimed, at least half of which was faked. Probably.
They still didn’t know what Thor or Odin had done leading up to the massive tree destruction that Thor indulged in, something about telling you would disturb the flow of Fate, but what they did know was that Asgard was safer than ever. Thor and Odin were both stronger than ever. Ragnarok, atleast in its current form, did not exist.
And that was a cause for concern because, to Odin, the known evil was far better than the unknown one. There might be another prophecy that might just accelerate their doom, but for the sake of the present, Adgard was safe.
Which, understandably, prompted a round of partying that was still ongoing, with Odin and Thor both threatening to barge into his Garden if he did not empty his pockets and serve all of Asgard with everything he had, for a handsome fee, of course. He was also paid with another round of artifacts for his role in defending Asgard, though something told him that this time, he was going to be a lot more careful in handling strange, ancient things that Odin handed him that he could make use of with his unique powers.
It all felt so movie-like to him. An unsuspecting crisis, then power ups through struggle where everything looked bleak but no one dies, then the main character wakes up from a coma, during which the side character desperately protects him, and then the main character saves everyone.
Then, everyone experiences happily ever after, just with a dash of Asgardian partying mixed in.
Not that he was considering himself the side character, but in that case, with Thor as the main character who solved the main issue, then maybe he could be considered the side character.
Only in that one instance, though.
Even then, he was the MC of the party, though. It was just that he couldn't stand praying for that long, especially since after a while, it was just nonstop orgies, and just thinking of the hygiene there…Ugh.
Sure, Asgardians and Devils probably did not have to worry much in that regard, but he supposed that he was a clean freak in that regard.
Vali was probably the same, as they both ditched the party after it was clear that drinks were no longer the main attraction of the party.
Speaking of Vali, she came around to him surprisingly well, and even though she hadn’t discussed anything about what he told her about Rizevim, he was sure she would come around to that as well.
He supposed that the lure of his ice cream was beyond the awkwardness of coming back so soon.
He considered that a win!
