–Mia–
When she first met Magdaran, in this very place, in this very booth, she had never expected him to go on to do so much. Sure, being the Bael heir meant he was destined for greatness either way. It was just that no one expected him to do half the things he did.
His work as the Pharmacist alone was revolutionary, and had it not been for the collaboration of multiple powerful entities to make sure that his name was not leaked anywhere, the world would have been searching for him. As things stood, many people were still looking for him, to no avail, but the world as a whole was not really interested in that.
The Pharmacist, as far as the world was concerned, was gone, and with it, the business that the Norse and Grigori had built up, dealing quite a blow to both the organisations. Only they did not seem to care one bit about that damage. Neither did the world, after it came out that a new Lucifer was on the block and that same Lucifer now had the power of the original Morningstar.
She could still remember the panic with which Mephisto had summoned her five years ago. She had been enjoying her time in the Himalayas back then, painting and recording the daily struggles of the people who lived in such harsh terrain, as she was fascinated by their lifestyle, isolated from most of the world and yet living peacefully. She had sought to record that piece in time forever, as she was prone to do whenever she encountered something that fascinated her, only to be forcibly summoned by Mephisto, for the first time in her long life.
Understandably, she had panicked, as Mephisto had summoned her and had begun hammering questions away at her about Magdaran Bael and his relationship with a silver haired Half Devil girl.
That girl was Vali Lucifer. That much she had been aware of, as it was one of the perks of being a part of Mephisto’s peerage. He made sure that all of them were aware of the many, many hidden dangers of their world and how best to avoid them.
She had expected those questions to pertain to Magdaran Bael, since he had made some pretty big splashes at the time, something that even she was aware of, despite her rather detached nature with supernatural news. Instead, he had asked her about Vali Lucifer, and understandably, the sudden interest intrigued her, which led to an explanation from Mephisto.
Demonic Brilliance of Evil Light.
The mythical bloodline trait, thought to have vanished from the world after the death of Lucifer, had manifested once more in Lucifer, a Half Devil at that, and he wanted to know everything she knew about her and Magdaran as well. He needed to know more about them because a Lucifer with that level of power was never a good sign.
Back then, she knew that Mephisto was not telling her everything, but over the years, as information slowly leaked out of the rather tight information seal kept over Vali Lucifer and the real reason why no one had moved against her.
She was a Super Devil.
Then, it became clear to her why everyone was so on guard against her and weren’t even looking to defeat her. The Morningstar was a terror everywhere even with his peak Satan Class strength. He was not a Super Devil. The thought of a Longinus wielding Super Devil with the Lucifer bloodline trait was understandable, but it scared a lot of people, hence the tense ceasefire against all Devils.
Shaking her head, she looked down at her drink, and took a sip, appreciating the taste with a hum. Even so, the taste did not improve her mood as she looked forward to meeting Magdaran.
Mephisto had told her that he had disappeared off the face of the world, and despite searching, no one had been able to locate him. Not even Vali Lucifer, with all the power and resources at her disposal, was able to locate him, and from what she could tell, Vali was quite desperate at that.
Whatever it was, it began with the Dome of Power back at Asgard; she could tell that much. Over the years, she had spent all of her time investigating the series of events that led to the Red Sky event back in the Underworld. The day Sirzechs Lucifer, the Strongest Devil alive, even now after Vali Lucifer’s existence became public, came out of whatever short term seclusion he had been in, with a show of power the likes of which had not been seen since the Great War.
She supposed that using his power to erect a dome of the Power of Destruction all over the Underworld was quite the feat. He had effectively replicated Magdaran’s show of strength, only over a much, much larger scale.
A few months after that, Vali Lucifer was outed as the new Super Devil of the Underworld, further reinforcing the Devils’ position across the supernatural world. Yet, the one Devil everyone thought would surely become the strongest Devil of his generation and reach the likes of the Satans, was nowhere to be seen. Magdaran Bael was nowhere to be seen.
Magdaran Bael was the Pharmacist. He had a great relationship with both Asgard and Grigori.
Asgard was covered in his Power for quite a while, sealing off the entire realm from outside interference. Then, the next thing the world knows is that both Odin and Thor have undergone a qualitative difference in power, becoming stronger than ever.
Then a battle broke out at Grigori grounds, leading to Azazel being severely injured while fighting Vali Lucifer. Then, Vali disappears after becoming a Super Devil. The same distinct energy signature, along with Thor’s, is recorded somewhere on Earth, along with Magdaran’s energy signature as well. The magnitude of energy recorded in that place surely meant that a battle took place there.
The day the battle happened, the Red Sky event happened. After that, Vali Lucifer became a Super Devil, became a major force in the supernatural world, and yet, during all of this, Magdaran was nowhere to be seen.
She had a feeling that she was on the cusp of finding something truly game changing. She just did not have the right pieces to fit the puzzle. She had scoured most of the world for some clue regarding Magdaran’s whereabouts, but found nothing, save for some rumours that someone else was reviving the name of the Pharmacist, promising products that had a similar level of empowering effects.
She had an invite to the auction house that was going to launch these products later on, so she had come here for a few drinks before heading there. After over five years of relentless pursuits, she only had a probable phony impersonator who might have gotten his hands on some old stock and wanted to milk it, despite pushing all her other pursuits to the side.
She might have to accept the fact that Magdaran was so well hidden that he could not be found by anyone, or he might just be dead. That would be a shame. He was an interesting Devil.

Vapula Estate
–Misla Bael—
It has been just over five years since she woke up and found herself being hugged by a crying Sairaorg before she could even gather her bearings. Her heart had dropped the moment she had heard her baby cry so much, bawling his eyes as he hugged her with all his strength.
It had taken a few minutes after that to realise that something was wrong with her body. Her body was brimming with strength, and she felt almost full of Demonic Energy, even though her mind was in disarray.
Before she could fully process the fact that she had been asleep for years, she was moved out of House Bael territory and back in House Vapula. Her brother had been adamant about keeping her there, not even listening to her as she told him of everything that might befall his eyes if House Bael took that as a slight and decided to move against them.
Her brother had been stubborn, even going so far as to forbid her from leaving, the same with Sairaorg. She had expected some kind of retaliation from House Bael, but nothing came. The death of her husband hadn’t even fazed her once the truth about her sickness came forward.
Shaking her head, she looked at the tea in front of her, before finally taking a sip. It was one of her favourite daily activities. To drink tea on the patio of the vast property her son had bought. Just for the two of us, he had told her with a bright grin on his face when he’d handed her the deed to this property in the Underworld, registered under the name Sairaorg Vapula.
Her son had even forsaken the name Bael, and despite the horror of that registering somewhere dimly in her mind, she knew that no retaliation of any sort would arrive on her doorstep. After all, how could it? When—
A distant blow created a shockwave that flattened the nice forest view in front of her before the shockwave reached her as well, ruffling her clothes and uprooting the greenery around her. As far as her vision could reach, the sea of green that was just there was gone, replaced with the upturned soil, as she peered into the distance and saw the reason why.
Her son was going at it with Regulus once more. At merely nineteen years old, Sairaorg was already a Top 5 player in the Rating Games, despite not having a full peerage. The youngest challenger to fight Diehauser Belial to a standstill, even as the rest of his peerage lost to the far more experienced full peerage of Diehauser, ultimately resulting in his defeat.
She shook her head and sighed at the devastation all around her. The house, the patio, and the pool were spared from the damage as the wards took care of the shockwave, but the shockwave had travelled far and wide, dealing devastating damage to the vast property that Sai now owned.
No wonder no sane person was willing to be their neighbour. If Sai was going to just destroy the picturesque scenery around them with a single blow, why would people pay such expensive prices? Apparently, money did not matter much to Sai, as he just brushed off her worries about the damage done to their grounds.
She fondly rolled her eyes as she set the cup down before walking back into the house. From the looks of it, their spar had come to an end, and her little Sai loved to have a nice, hot bath infused with diluted Phenex Tears, especially after an all out spar with Regulus. Since she knew for a fact that there were wards in place to prevent such a scenario, and if the wards had failed to such an extent, it could only mean that Sai had not held back at all, same with Regulus.
Honestly, they were such children. Regulus and Sairaorg were just inseparable, and she could definitely understand why, but could they not fight every other day, with all they had? Their constant fights had led to most of the combat prowess being concentrated in the top two, with the only other member, his Queen, the Abaddon girl, focusing more on her magic and ignoring the “meatheads” as she liked to call them.
Honestly, they were such a handful, and in no way less troublesome than the average 19 year old Devil, and yet, she would have it no other way. They were her kids, and she would forever be grateful for this second chance in life.
The thought of seeing Sai and Kuisha’s children made her smirk as she walked towards the library, where Kuisha spent most of her time studying magic. Maybe she could help set up Sai's bath this time.
