J.K. Rowling is a Christian, actually, and she did use a lot of Christian allegories and symbolism for the Harry Potter series.. if your Mom keeps watching, she'll definitely notice! Specially on the topics of self sacrificing love and righteousness. It's actually something many Christians fail to take into account about the Harry Potter series.. I've seen a lot of discussions about how the "witchcraft in Harry Potter is demonic", when it's actually just a really good use of Imagination to represent some of the most important Christian values, in a very creative and ageless way. As a devout Christian too, I really love this story! 😅💚 And even as a kid I knew the magic in this series isn't representative of the type of "witchcraft" the Bible talks about. Except maybe for the later dark stuff that Voldemort gets into.. but the Story represents it as something evil and destructive for the soul, just as Scripture condemns it. In truth, most Chrsitians who are "against Harry Potter" have never really read or seen the Story as a whole context, which is a little sad. This, Lord of the Rings and Narnia have some of the best Christian allegories in fantasy storytelling ever.

So excited to watch this just in time for the Harry Potter store opening in Chicago next week!! And they just put all the giant jelly beans in the river yesterday! 🤩 your mom is just like mine, she would have whacked me if a snaked popped up. I remember her freaking out in the theaters when we watched this in 2001! Wow
