You are correct....this was another episode that caused a massive amount of people to quit watching. In the comics, Carl survived through the whole story. But they decided to kill him...by getting bit by a walker. What made it even worse, the word going around is that Chandler Riggs was getting ready to turn 18 and he had just bought a house nearby to be closer to the set to be told he was being killed off. All of it did not set well with the fans. They felt Chandler Riggs was done dirty. As far as the ending goes with Rick setting under the tree, it will make sense. It is a very sad episode. RIP Carl.

I'm glad you totally got what Carl was saying and how it was about forgiveness. Relating it back to Tyreese and Carol was something I didn't think about... but you're right. I love how much Mama-G thought this episode 'SUCKED'.... lol, it shows that this episode had an impact on her because I think it SUCKED too. I also agree that this was a great way to do Carl's death instead of it being all dramatic and bloody.

Chandler Riggs and Scott Gimple have BOTH said that it was a rumour... Carl died for the story to push Rick into the decisions that he made. The rumour was actually started by Chandler's father online.. because he was upset that his son was no longer going to be part of the show and he assumed it was the age thing. We all know though, TWD has never spared any expense. As if a few dollar's difference in pay would cause them to do this.

Correct. The word that went around did cause people to quit watching it. Then the simple fact thar upset people was that he was bit by a walker. Some fans felt that it was a terrible way to kill him off. It should have been something else than a walker bite by one line walker.

God this episode is an emotional rollercoaster. The parallel's of Henry doing exactly what Carl was talking about that broke him was crazy. Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira deserved awards for this one. Shoutout to Chandler Riggs and Lennie James too.

I don’t even like Carl, like if I made a list of my favorite characters he’s nowhere on it but if there was one thing I counted on with the show it’s that Carl would live cause the whole “show Carl the new world” thing Rick had going on. Boy was I wrong. This was actually the last episode I watched while the show was airing. Didn’t finish until last year when I binged it with my brother

I was soooo upset when Carl died. I could not believe they did it because his character had so much potential. It made me lose a lot of motivation to keep watching the show because everything Rick has done this whole time has been for Carl!!

This one hurt me. It hurt me back when I watched it on air and it STILL hurts me now. 😭😭😭 It brought me so much pain knowing the show was going to continue without Carl, because he was someone I always wanted to remain untouched ultimately. BUT this is The Walking Dead and they don't care! 😂 I kept watching, but I did fall off at the end of this season. Once I got my husband hooked on the show 5+ years later and we did follow through and finish together! I'm glad we did too, because I really think taking this journey needs that conclusion. Overall, completely worth it to us. 💜✨️

I wonder how much Judith knows about the zombies and staying quiet and stuff. Seeing her getting bigger and bigger I can't help but wonder if they've prepared her a bit for how much death is around. This is such an interesting concept, I wish they explored logistics like that more often

Sorry i burst out laugh at y'all's reaction to Negan at the end lmaoooo. I get what the writers were trying to do but it's so funny seeing him in the future all glorified like that after everything he's done. I liked that they showed Gavin being slightly more sensible than the rest of the Negan crew, he genuinely seemed like he did not want to be there The scene with Judith saying goodbye also kinda made me laugh cause we have spent zero time with her on the show so it's just a random child with no lines in my head. I get it would probably be hard to get a child actor and stuff but it fell flat in my opinion

I can forgive Negan for killing Abraham and Glenn because we did attack them first. In this show everyone has killed people and just because they didn't have a name doesn't mean they werent someone's favorite character in an alternate universe, ya know? What I can't forgive is this reign of terror he's inflicted over so many communities and how he's basically enslaved a bunch of people to work for him and radicalized the rest into murdering for fun. Think of how much sooner society could've happened if these six groups had just worked together to trade and build society again. (Hilltop, Alexandria, Kingdom, The Sanctuary, Oceanside, and the Garbage People)

I haven't even seen any of the other spin offs the only one I watched was The Walking Dead:" The Ones Who Live" It was only 6 episodes I think for me that wrapped up the walking dead franchise for me I was okay with how it ended. (I'll edit my comment just in case but I'm guessing it's too late)

There was definitely something more to them killing him off liked that. In the comics, it is supposed to be Carl’s story by the end, and Rick was just pathing the way for him to have a better future. There was also soo many little character relationships and storylines that involved Carl, that we never got. It’s so frustrating regardless.

Carl should’ve never been outside the walls after losing an eye until he was actually used to having one eye. We saw like a few episodes ago how he couldn’t even hit the dartboard. So why the hell was he running around outside the walls 🙄🙄🙄 Makes no sense that Rick or Michonne wouldn’t have had the forethought to encourage him to stay inside the walls and train like crazy to get used to only seeing with one eye.
