So glad you reacted to this! One of my fav horror movies, Aussies don't play about horror fr. As for how the book appeared in their house, you could buy into the more supernatural essence of the story or lean toward the psychological aspect. In the scene where Amelia is talking to the other mothers at the girl's birthday party, they mentioned she used to be a writer... she says, "I wrote some articles for some magazines, and did some kid's stuff..." hint hint 😉

i watched this movie a long time ago and it still gets to me 😭 horror is literally my favorite genre and i’ve seen way worse stuff but this one actually scared me i think it’s the whole nightmare feeling, like trying to run but you just can’t, or that feeling when you’re falling in a dream and your body actually feels like it’s falling and you wake up from it. that’s exactly what this movie made me feel, especially whenever the Babadook attacked her the camera cuts + the acting from both of them were sooo good tho. i really love this movie
