I knew there was somethin up with him! omg

And more to your point, I don't think it's fair to pressure Claudia to forgive Lestat because she was the one left with taking care of Louis for months and doing all the work of healing the damage that was done to him by Lestat!

Am I the only Lestat apologist in the chat?! I know I'm in the minority, but I actually have a soft spot for Lestat. Don't come for me! And don't get me wrong, I'm painfully aware he's not a "good guy" - he's deeply flawed and undoubtedly a narcissist, but I think there is a lot of his own lived trauma that has informed his temperament. And while I do think it's easier to sympathize with Claudia and Louise, they're not without sin either and that's why I like the show. I enjoy characters that are nuanced and morally ambiguous and messy. I think Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead did a decent job at this type of character too - think Shane, Jamie Lannister. Anyways, I'm really enjoying watching with you, Caitlin!

OHHHH SHOOT I forgot about Daniel's dream at the end there. Hmmm. My heart breaks for Louis and Claudia here, Lestat is an insufferable brat, abusive and so clearly immature. I have experience with people similar to this, and I just see a scared little damaged soul who only knows how to make himself feel safe by hurting others. That being said there is no excuse for his awful behavior. He's the worst in a lot of ways. Are you planning on watching the other seasons? I hope so! I'm loving these reactions, you pick up on so many things I missed on my first watch!

Fellow Lestat apologist here! The entire point of the show is that they're all monsters and all do horrific things at some point in time. Lestat is just too iconic and bratty and an absolute diva, I have to love him. He's also incredibly complex and broken in so many ways and while his traumas don't excuse his behavior, it has formed who he is as a person in a lot of ways.
