I have a theory that the man in yellow wants Henry to kill Victor because they can't, I think maybe he's a reincarnation of the child that the reincarnated, Jade and Tabitha didn't sacrifice, Or something along those lines, cuz even when the monsters had him in the cave they told him they would have to make him stay but they have never tried to kill him, and he was the only one that survived the massacre, it makes me worried that Victor or Ethan will have to be sacrificed for them to go home

I subscribed to your channel just 4 days ago, and I've spent those four days watching the entire series with you, starting from the pilot. Now that everything is still fresh in my mind, and knowing the writers have said the answers are already in Season 1, I'm 99% sure I've figured it out. In the pilot, while Ethan was being treated for his wound, he told his father about a dream he had involving the "Lake of Tears". He had seen it in a drawing inside someone's house, surrounded by lots of crayon drawings (Victor's drawings), and he also mentioned a spider. Ethan was reading a book in the pilot. With the following passage " the Lake of Tears is a mythical place where fairies can bring the dead back to life" In Season 1, Episode 9, when Ethan and his family went through Victor's drawings, we saw a drawing of a lake with tears above it and a HUGE spider above the tears. What if the spider is guarding the Lake of Tears? Who has actually encountered spiders? Sarah and Boyd, when they went into the forest searching for answers and were dragged through the woods. When they opened their tents, the entire forest was covered in HUGE spiderwebs. What if they were actually close to the Lake of Tears? Now, remember what Sophia said: "They have the right idea, of course, but this place, it's built on ritual. And with rituals, how you do something is just as important as what you do." What if the bones have to be thrown into the Lake of Tears to end the cycle? Bringing the children back is the key to ending everything, since the cycle began with their sacrifice. Reversing that sacrifice is the only way to break the cycle. And this brings me back to what Sophia said. They have the right idea, but they are missing something. They have the bones, but they haven't found the Lake of Tears yet. Maybe they don't just need the bones. They need to perform the correct ritual by throwing them into the lake. I think the Lake of Tears, the giant spider, and the bones are all connected, and the clues have been right in front of us since the pilot.

You bringing this up also makes me think that the reason Jim told Ethan he needed to find the Lake of Tears, is because like you said how they would have to throw the bones into the lake to revive the children and with that the revival of the children would ultimately break the ritual that was originally in place which had those things kill their kids, once broken I feel like everyone that died in that town will also come back to life and it will lift whatever ritual spell was in place so then everyone can finally go home.

Yes, that was Jim's soul talking to Ethan. The lake of tears is a crucial place, Sophia or the monsters wouldn't want Ethan to find that place. I feel like the people who die in that place are "trapped" in there. Marielle said after the whole cicada incident that she can feel the agony of the people trapped in here. But then again the show tells us what is done can't be undone. If the cycle breaks and the people are freed of this town I think there will be 2 options 1: The trapped souls are free and move on to an afterlife or 2: If the cycle is broken everyone will be resurrected.

I personally don't think Ethan saw Real Jim's Spirit, Jim was waaaayyy to intense with the safety of his family he wouldn't send him to do something like that alone, (and I know he didnt specifically said to do it alone but again why not tell his Wife) if anything he would have appeared to Tab or Jade. Him looking back when they were speaking also didnt sit well with me. it was either this place or the man in yellow
