OMG THIS WAS SO GOOD! Middle school me is freaking out ahhh! I compare the show a lot to the movies so heads up. I don't remember much about the books cause It's been years since i read it but some things do come to me.

SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT EPISODES!

I haven't watched or read this before so I don't really know anything about this series but this was really interesting, I'm liking it! Also I love watching with you, it's so much fun!! 🥰 Looking forward to the next episodes!

Just wanna say I’m getting torn apart on YouTube (not really but yeah) I sound completely dumb in this reaction so to clear some things up: 1. No one knew that Percy was the son of Poseidon. Which is why they were trying to figure out what he’s good at. The only person that may have known is Annabeth. She had an idea of who he was. 2. Clarisse hating Percy has nothing to do with his father but more so about glory. She doesn’t like that he came into camp killing a monster and people are talking about it. He stole her thunder and she’s no happy. 3. The fades to black is probably cause there’s a ad version on Disney plus as while as it might be because of the chapters in the books. 4. It wasn’t hades that was speaking to Percy in that weird scary voice, it was Kronos. Yeah I think I covered everything? Sorry if this reaction is annoying. Kinda feel anxious but moving forward I’ll go with these things in mind. Thank you.

Oh this was so fun! I agree, as someone who read all the books and even sequel book series (Heroes of Olympus) this felt very true to the original and it feels great to see this world on screen compared to the movies. Would love to see more of Anabeth too but I already like the way the actress is portraying her character so far! Can't wait for the next episodes. Thanks for reacting and sharing this here Caitlin!

I don't think the reaction was annoying, it's ok to not know anything. You still recognised all the main characters like Luke, Clarisse etc. Seeing the reaction to those characters was really fun. Just keep doing what you're doing, don't let people influence your reactions too much :)

im already loving the series, there is already so much more context/details provided that i wish had been in the movies, just makes me so glad to know Rick Riordan was much more involved this time around. also dont worry about not remembering every little thing from the books, i reread the series in the beginning of this year and still forgot a couple of things lol. im excited to see the rest of the episodes !! (also hard agree on eventually hopefully seeing what the last book to show adaptation would look like 😁)

This was like a childhood dream come true to see this series get brought back to life. (We don't talk about the movies since even Rick Riordan wants to pretend it never existed too). It has a lot more details added in compared to the movies but it still feels a little rushed which cannot be helped since they are condensing the whole book into 8 episodes. Some things that did not really fit how I pictured it compared to the books is... 1) I pictured the dining pavilion to be a lot larger, wish they added a short goblet scene. 2) I also did not expect the cabins to be so cramped up all together.. I pictured it spread out slightly more. Hopefully this gets a season 2 soon if we want to stay true to the characters ages too, and also more seasons to come so we can actually end off the series for once. Hopefully we can even reach to the point of the Hero of Olympus series, would love to see characters from HOO come to life as well.

I saw nothing wrong with your reaction to the show. I'm not too fond of the fade to blacks either, but honestly, I chalk it up to Disney saving server space, or being lazy and not wanting to have to do a cut and uncut version of the show for their service. Lastly, Im'a be real...screw the people on Youtube. You have a right to react to the show the way you did. You were enjoying yourself, and that's what matters.

As someone who has never read Percy Jackson (I plan to) or watched the movies, I thought your reaction was super fun and it felt like watching it with a friend. Don't let negative comments on YouTube discourage you.

5 minutes into episode 1 and I'm already liking this waaaaaaay better than the movies. It fits the attitude of the books so much better.
