Howdy guys! It's summer, which means I've got more time than normal to write. I like to have a backup project to work on so I don't get bored of my main project. Since I'll be working on Morcster Chef for the forseeable future (Likely 1-2 years), it's about time to choose a backup project.

I figured the best thing I could offer you all would be the ability to vote on my side project. I exclusively write fantasy, so I don't think it'll be a surprise to anyone that the options will all be, well, fantasy. That being said, I want to challenge myself, so there will be significant twists on each one. That being said...vote away!

Thanks for your support, everybody.

Options:

1 - Walks Behind, a LITRPG:

Somewhere deep down, humanity always knew it wasn't alone in the universe. The hopes and fears of billions were finally realized in 3032 B.C, when an alien transmission finally reached earth in the form of a massive massage in the sky. It invited all of humanity to Utopia: an alternate reality where the majority of the universe resided. It strongly resembled the MMOs of ages past. Immortality, magic, everything anyone could have ever wanted was waiting for them.

It was a dream come true for Mutt. Imprisoned since birth and trained to be a disposable assassin, Mutt was the fastest to accept the offer put forth by the aliens. Freed of his chains and transported to Utopia, the deadly killer was free to make his own decisions for the first time in his life. His first task:  figure out how to work the stupid, buggy character creator.

2 - My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror, comedy / progression fantasy:

If one wanted to have a successful future, they had to summon a companion. This simple fact was ingrained into every child's head as soon as they could speak, and sometimes before that.

Aside from the summoning spell, humans are innately mundane creatures. A summoned companion was the only way to cast and learn magic. The strength of the companion was strongly correlated to the success of the summoner, as humans could only learn magic that their companion could use.

Of course, summoning a companion was far from simple. The spell was incredibly complicated. Once a year, the Vanguard sent out specialized summoners to assist everyone of age in beginning their journey to learn magic.

Unfortunately, Damien was never one to wait patiently. The spell didn't look all THAT hard - it was just a fancy circle with some weird chanting. He was quite convident that there was really no need to wait for some haughty summoner. After all, how bad could it go?

I mean no offense to you or anyone writing a similar story but walks behind just sounds like every othrr novel in RR right now tbh. With eldritch bestie as long as he doesnt get a mega plot armor pet which can make asspull situations happen to save mc it can be good.

That's a fair point. I'll keep that in mind, thank you for your honesty! If that option does end up winning, I'll look into making it more of a unique novel and not just another litRPG. No point putting a ton of thought behind it yet, but if it wins I'll make sure I'm writing something you guys actually want to read.
