I’m glad we’re finally seeing this, Kai has probably helped Onyx a lot. Sure he was a dick to Keane, but we have no idea how much or little Onyx shared. Plus it’s also fair of Kai to be protective over a friend, especially if they’ve been in a rough situation previously.

I'm sorry but as a musician I have to chime in here 🥲 a guitar with a broken neck (it has an angle so it's broken broken) will be absolutely completely unplayable. That is really unbelievably unrealistic. It's an electric one so if you broke off some part of the body (eg that "spikey" thing at the top) it could probably still work bc electric guitars don't rely much on the resonance of the body, the creation of sound is pretty much all in the electronics. So if some of the wheels and buttons were smashed (especially without an amp) it could still probably work but no shot with a broken off neck. 🥲 I'm very excited about this little backstory especially bc he's in uni now apparently without a hs degree? Wonder how he managed that. But also I hope hope so much that he explains this all to Keane too 😭😭😭😭🥹

New band member, Onyx! 😊 How dare Kai make me start to like him... he's supposed to remain annoying purely on principle. 😂😂 I can't help but realize he was a saving grace for Onyx right when he was at his limit. Who knows what would've happened to him if he remained in the streets any longer. Too many times we see where abused LGBTQ+ teen runaways (or any teen runaways really), end up taking desperate measures during desperate times (i.e., stealing, prostitution, drug use, etc.). I'm glad Onyx received a helping hand, and was still able to graduate while doing what he loves - music. The only thing is, I wish the 3 of them (Onyx, Keane, Kai) could sit and communicate together and clear up any misunderstandings or incorrect conclusions. That wound be awesome, but we know the hamster wheel will not be stopping anytime soon, lol.

I love seeing the beginning of this friendship, even though it was sad to see Onyx leaving before that..:( Kai honestly seems like a good friend and I'm glad I didn't misjudged him, I just guessed his reaction with Keane was probably just being an overprotective friend or something Onyx must have told him, but either ways, I hope to continue to see this friendship and also where Keane and Kai can get to know each other and become friends as well!

i think Kai is clearly just a friend, a really good, cool friend who will be there for you but won't let you bullshit yourself for too long. I honestly didn't have an issue with his telling Keane to respect Onyx's boundaries. it was apparent in the laundry room episode that he thought Onyx shouldn't have lied to Keane about Kai. The only issue I had with him was his failure to apologize immediately after dumping coffee on someone and then being cavalier about money. There is a dudeness about Kai. He's not setting off my gaydar.

after kai notes the calluses on Onyx's fingertips and says, "you really do know how to play, huh?" i heard the gears churning in his head. as in, is this dude someone i could get in my band? let's do some quick background check. a legit or sketchy dude? check, he's a runaway. potential problem down the line? check, sarcastic and smart enough. open to the idea of joining my band? check, he is, again, a homeless and penniless runaway.

Personally I loved this ep, I love how Kai read Onyx like a book, cause we KNOW Onyx would never have opened up otherwise. Kai just being blunt and forward and CLEAR is exactly what Onyx needed in a friend. I like Kai, and back a few eps when Onyx told Keane that him and Kai were dating, Kai did not seem happy about Onyx's decision to lie to Keane, so that to me seems like Kai isnt against Keane, and instead seems like he wants them to communicate, so yeah, I like him , I think he's gonna be good for our boys :)

oh wait i kinda like this, kai actually does seem like a good dude. i’m guessing he probably just came on strong to keane because he only knew one side of the story and all the pain onyx has been going through. it makes sense that he would wanna be protective of him if they grew close during that time he was gone.
