Iā€™m so thankful that you had Kai clarify he wasnā€™t gonna force Axel into anything. Excited for the next chapter on Keane and Onyx!

shawnorrific

Okay, I know Axel was a total piece of shit, but I think heā€™s been put through the wringer enough lol poor guy

Yooo that deal is like so fycked up but I think he should take itšŸ˜ although if any feelings develop theyā€™ll both be questioning whether itā€™s real or just a ā€œpart of the dealā€ā€¦hm..sound familiar??:3 Also Onyx and Keane are so friggin cute in the morning lol

OMG I JUST DIEEEDD, RAN HERE AS SOON AS I GOT THE NOTIF. Kai my love that is not the way you go about things omgšŸ„² That's pretty much forcing him considering he doesn't really have another choice. But I live a little too much for the toxic dynamic, so KISSS. Also my babies are back I missed them

Charlie The Unicorn

How rich is this guy to pay for sex to a guy he ā€œdoesnā€™tā€ even like??? ā€œIm not gayā€¦. But $20 is $20ā€ in a few episodes šŸ˜

Megan Ferguson

Every episode my brain screams ā€œkiss kiss kiss!ā€ Over and over again šŸ˜‚

Hermione

WAAAASAHHHH!! Now I just feel bad for Axelā€¦ I mean itā€™s confirmed now that he didnā€™t even out Onyx and Keane. The poor man just wants to live and he has to deal with a father in prison, a mother that apparently doesnā€™t care much about him, being alone in college, having no friends there, working endlessly, and being in debt with the debt shark as him roommate and now thisā€¦. Iā€™m team Axel now, nothing can stop me. Whereā€™s the Axel protection team? Who wants to join?šŸ˜

t

ooouuu this is some good soup chat lol

Kreativzone

at this point I mostly care about the side coupleā€¦

Panacea

Love that he said heā€™s not gonna force him, that itā€™s an option, but still I ainā€™t mad. Though, I do wonder what his answer will be and what will end up happening šŸ¤

uwunae

Oofā€¦I came back to this comic after a couple of months, and I didnā€™t expect to become so invested in Kai & Axel šŸ«£ Alsoā€¦is it bad that if I were in Axelā€™s shoes, Iā€™d be leaning towards yesā€¦

Jsjdfhe

NOOOOO I NEED TO KNOWWWWW

Hermione
>>167178454

Yeah and I thought of the whole point of the last episode was him admitting his feelings for Axel?!?!

Tehe
>>167178632

A yes 100% he wonā€™t be able to say no to that kinda money, he probably will feel gross doing that kinda thing and getting money for it tho

Charlie The Unicorn
>>167178454

For sure but given his dislike for the jobā€¦ I wouldnā€™t have assumed his dad would be soā€¦ generousā€¦ with his money :3 ā€¦ but hey man if it ends with those two getting together im all in!

NaybaySunshine

I just need all the episodes out now

why am i more invested in kai and axel rn than keane and onyx ā€¦ šŸ«£šŸ«£šŸ«£

Paastaaaa, you promised us things would heat up quickly :( I don't wanna wait another week feed your children

Nicholas

Ngl Iā€™m kinda here for the toxic yaoi now.

Joobus

Well. This is certainly morally questionable. *presses Like button*

artsy_amusing

Hmmm...not sure how I feel about about the whole payment arrangement for Axel to basically satisfy Kai's bi-curiosity. Also, is he really only looking at it as an exchange, or did he really develop a "thing" for Axel? The way he worded it, "There's something I want to know," makes it seem like he's trying to see if he's just curious, or if he's really bi and has a thing for Axel. I don't know... One thing's for sure...if they do end up sleeping together, I guarantee it will turn into more than transactions. Before you know it, they'll find themselves falling hard for each other. šŸ˜˜ I'm glad to see Keane and Onyx again! I'm super invested in how Kai and Axel are going to turn out, but I missed our boys. ā¤ļø

taequilas

loving the toxic yaoi i need 728282 more chapters of them

kaykay

oh kai... giving him an offer he can't refuse... can't wait for kai to see axel freeze up and go "hey maybe i'm doing the wrong thing." love me some hurt/comfort ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

Elly

Not the indecent proposal. Kai is straight up wrong for that. Gotta take baby steps. At least pay for some kisses and progress from there. Still not right but we know Axel needs that debt paid.

ivitti
>>167178280

heā€™s so funny, i liked him first before blykešŸ¤£

Kiri

Is this going to turn into something similar from Onyx and Keane? Like this entire story started with Onyx doing things for Keane in exchange for kisses. I think Iā€™d be awesome if we actually kinda came full circle and see something like that with Axel and Kai. I am also so torn on how I feel about Kaiā€™s proposal. Like he said heā€™s not forcing him but he kind of is. Axel is fucking screwed at this point so I honestly donā€™t know if he really has a choice at this point. But at the same time the plot is so gripping Iā€™m like fully okay with this and want Axel to take the proposal because I really really wanna see the conclusion Kai comes to after šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Crimson

Jesus 174 grand + 20% is wild. Basically corner Axel with that purposal. Also Onyx is so cute

Kasey

the boys are back in business šŸ«¦

蓝 Ellie
>>167178419

Yeah, he basically said he doesnā€™t have a choice. Saying Axel will suffer bodily harm if he canā€™t pay and this is likely his only alternativeā€¦ I mean it might be true, but it doesnā€™t mean he isnā€™t taking advantage of a desperate person. The thing I loved so much about bgf was how non-toxic their relationship is, but it seems like most of the fans are really into the toxicity of the side couple šŸ˜’

Cait

What a CLIFFHANGER!!! Aaaaaah I need more! This kaxel relationship is like a drug man. So happy kai did say he wasnt going to force it if he didnā€™t want to do it. I think kai has good intentions but he doesnt know how to go about it cause their relationship started out really rockyā€¦They practically despised each other on misunderstandings. Also, Axel may say he is not gay BUT he most certainly did not say he wasnt biā€¦ā€¦..Just sayingšŸ˜

Ana Espinoza

Was I the only one that see this coming I just knew Kai was going to make this kind of proposalā€¦

Anne Silva

I like Kai and axel interaction.. šŸ„°

Taylor Koberinski
>>167178419

Oh 100% this is VERY toxic and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy if it was in real life. If this was the main relationship I would not be reading bgf. But I don't mind the opposition of the most adorable main couple and the side toxic one. And I have hope it will be figured out in a way that doesn't jeopardize Axel's consent like it is now

Laura YUC

See, THIS!! Is the kind of toxic bl I'm cool with!! Because there is still cosent (wording, actions, etc). And everyone is benefitting. Now, how will they eventually mend the relationship?? Let's find out. (Axel would've never accepted any kind of hand out and Kai didn't really need anything else from him soooo I don't even go as far as to call wrong lol just toxic šŸ¤”)

Julie

onyx šŸ„¹šŸ„¹ā¤ļø i love sweet realizations and blushes ā¤ļøāœ‹šŸ¼šŸ˜ i need fluff IMMEDIATELY

Magdalena

I know that Kai said he isnā€™t gonna force him but he kinda is cause axel needs to pay off his debt Iā€™m invested to see whatā€™s gonna happen tho

Magdalena

Physical labor is crazyšŸ˜

Magdalena

I actually feel bad for axel here

Magdalena

ā€œDo you have a thing for me or somethingā€? ā€œNo donā€™t flatter yourselfā€ Kai stop lying you know you like him

Skyler

Karmas a bitch

RenƩe

Axel thinking about it = his spicy dreams after that hot, confusing moment šŸ¤

Synergy

Kai's suggestion is rather dark if it's only about sex. If it also includes sexless dates, like the one they already had, it's bearable. I would feel really bad for Axel unless Kai was not so hot (which kinda silences my empathic part)

Ludyyyā¤ļø

Axel going to accept, that's for sure and these two will learn together about this feelings šŸ”„

JH

Well, I suspect Axel will accept Kaiā€™s offer because he really doesnā€™t have a choice. I am curious how this will play out; however, I have to say I am more interested in the next steps for Keane & Onyx! šŸ˜

Anon_xx

Insane really. I'm happy to see Onyx and Keane, but I really can't get enough of Axel's storyline rn wth

Vninner

I love gya people I love yag people I lo

Lily

YESSSSS KEAN AND ONYX IS BACK IM SO HAPPYYYYYYYUU

JustJLeo

Happy to see Keane and Onyx again. A little worried about Axel. If he accepts that very extreme proposition to essentially sell his body, it could take a toll on his mental well-being and he could potentially spiral. And the spiral could include prostitution elsewhere and although the premise of the story is young men in college, his story is already dark and difficult and that doesn't just disappear overnight. Also, Kai is from what looks like a criminal family, his continued interactions with Axel may attract the wrong attention.

Yui Ramos

I want more of Axel and Kai!! I love their story toošŸ˜

alice

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO END

idle

174 grand is crazy. What currency is this, and how often is the interest compounded? 20% interest would mean Axel is paying 34,800 over each interval where interest is calculated. So either 34,800 or 2,900 each payment in whatever currency. Iā€™ll guess itā€™s not Yen, cuz 34,800Ā„ is only $240. I doubt Axel would struggle to make his payments. Axel is definitely not making $34,800 monthly with his part-time jobsā€¦ so are we saying $2,900 payments, with an APR of 20%? Honestlyā€¦ that almost makes this gang seem legitimate. I know of store credit cards that charge an APR rate of 30%.

idle
>>167178514

I donā€™t know of any confirmation of Axel not outing Onyx other than Axel denying that he did. People tend to deny horrible things theyā€™ve done in the past that are true.

Luna Lena

ā€œNot gonna force youā€ but likeā€¦ is there another real option? šŸ˜¬

BadLiar^_^

Wow it's felt like forever since we've had a chapter with both of our lovely gap ships in it at the same time. Or maybe, this is technically the first "real" time, since in this chapter, Keane and Onyx are officially together (I guess, even though they haven't said they're boyfriends yet), and now Kai has officially made the sex offer, basically revealing his real intentions to Axel for the first time. All I'm saying is that I feel like this episode is the official start of the rest of the story, it's heating up, and I'm SO HERE FOR IT ALL!! WHO ELSE IS WITH ME!?!?

slaysweetie

IM SO GLAD WE SEE OUR BOYS BACK I MISS THEMšŸ„ŗšŸ„ŗ

sunshine2919

I personally donā€™t think that Kai is forcing Axel to do anything. It may be persuasive since it sounds like a very good deal and an easier road to pay off his debt, but ultimately Kai left it up to Axel to decide. Axel is an adult who can make his own choices. He can easily say, ā€œNo thanks. Iā€™m going to find work elsewhere and deal with it on my own.ā€ So if he chooses to go through with the deal, thatā€™s on him, no one else šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Alana

woowww, so leaving cliffhangers are legal now šŸ˜šŸ˜

aventurine

put omegaverse over axel and kai and u got low tide in twilight thats crazy and im HERE FOR IT šŸ˜šŸ˜

Madison

AHHHHHHAHAAA-

frldmrdry

Yesterday I started re-reading Boygirlfriend for the 4th time. It made me realise that there will be a big emptiness, when this story ends. I also don't want this story to "drag on" forever, and I feel since Keane and Onyx confessed, the end *could* be kind of near. What I'm trying to say is, I need merchandise or anything like that šŸ˜… Keychains/physical prints, something like that. Because I'm pretty sure I'll cry when their story ends.

Luna

Guys... I think I can't do this anymore... I just can't wait any longer... I NEED TO DRAW KAXEL NSFW FANART LIKE RN

AddyOak

I like Kai and all but honestly if I was given an option like that I would be in tears and feel trapped šŸ˜ like I know Kai is being sincere in saying he doesn't want to force him but also he's putting some force behind that power imbalanced. But also, the choice was ultimately left to Axel. I'm sure he will agree but they need to set healthy boundaries and both need to follow and respect them. But also Axel is a brat and Kai is a tease so good luck to both of them šŸ˜… And also also, welcome back Keane and Onyx ā¤ļø we've missed y'all!! Hope you two get to go for a coffee date or something soon

AddyOak

I gotta make a separate post for this but also poor Axel working 14 hour days I can't imagine šŸ’” sounds like hell week 24/7/365 it makes me think Kai is bringing that up out of concern for him too. I think he cares for Axel more than he realizes. Like I think he thinks it's just curiosity or infatuation

Laura

Keane and onyx are back! Also I love that kai gave axel a choice to whether or not he chooses to go along with his deal axel is an adult now he has his own choices and I love that kai isn't forcing him like other toxic bl's

Black Leefa

Am I the only one that feels extremely uncomfortable with the things going on between Kai and Axel? šŸ¤Ø It's just hella toxic and I feel the urge to step in and protect Axel even though I've hated him before. šŸ˜Ÿ

Marissa

Yeah weā€™re soooo back lol it wouldnā€™t be boy girlfriend if there wasnā€™t a deal involved

Faith
>>167196844

THANK YOU Iā€™m so glad they didnā€™t do anything! Not even a kiss, like Iā€™m so tired of sexually toxic starts to relationships, I donā€™t want that for neither Kai nor Axel. Axel is an ass but no one deserves that or what he has to go through and Iā€™m glad Kai didnā€™t just take advantage of him but I hate how itā€™s going.

Ashy

Kai maybe you need to show you care in another way cause this isnt helping you

Emeline Maga

Poor baby is going to prostitute himselfā€¦. Super sad

Gigi

The emotional roller coaster was great! Pasta kill it! It was the longest episode ever Iā€™m very happy but Iā€™m worry about pasta. If you see this I hope you are not burn out šŸ™ā¤ļø and that you are okay šŸ‘ We love your content! I hope you take care of yourself too!

lovergirly

These cliffhangers are insane, canā€™t wait for more.šŸ„¹

Artemis hi
>>167195961

I mean also... idk it's emotional Manipulation. I don't think kai has bad intentions but he's kinda selfish rn. Saying " sleep with me and I'll pay off your depts" when you've been killing yourself to meet them is kinda idk :/ not really a choice. He's prolly gonna force himself just for the money

Artemis hi
>>167195078

yeah you're totally right I don't think kai realises the Power he holds on Alex and what affect that has

Artemis hi
>>167192229

idk man so many kids/young adults are forced into Prostitution because they don't have another way to make money quick when they need it so this just gives vibes like that. But yeah like I said don't think kai is realising the affect. I get your point tho

Hermione
>>167178514

That is trueeee but I can give a whole list of reasons why it he did not do it. I had a giant comment last episode with a bunch of people who discussed stuff with me about this. If you would like, I can say all the reasons and or evidence again? ā˜ŗļø

Mari

I'm not gonna lie, I like Kai less and less each episode šŸ˜¢ Happy our boys are back!

Andreyi

The thing between Axel and Kai is going to end up pretty bad... let's wait for it to happen šŸ˜ˆ

Andreyi

My boys Onyx and Keane are back šŸ˜

Mari
>>167204746

Right? Every time I have hopes he'll be decent, he fucks up. I know Axel has wronged in the past, but he doesn't deserve what he's going through now. And I can't believe Kai really likes him. If he did, he'd understand what he's doing is the complete opposite of what would make Axel feel safe. Why doesn't he pay the debt without getting anything in return? Why is he being such an ass? That's not the behaviour of someone who likes someone else in my book.

Belle

I really donā€™t like the way Kai is handling things right now, because Axel looks really shaken upā€¦ ā˜¹ļø It will be interesting to see how this develops, especially when we get to the NSFW scenesā€¦ šŸ«£

Vee_Breeze

Omfg Onyx and Keane are so f-ing cute I can't-

Vee_Breeze

Kai.. This ain't the right way... I'm glad he told him he won't force him or anything. He might accept this get ready guys, it's mafia shit. It ain't gonna be all fluffy.

Freddie Hughes

I have a few predictions. The first is that Axel will agree, but Kai will feel bad and just tell him to forget it. But Axel will have gotten curious in the meantime and will want to later without the pull of being a sugar baby. Kai will pay off his debt because he wants to. The second is that Kai will feel bad for offering and take it back before Axel decides. Heā€™ll pay off some of Axelā€™s debt, and Axel will find out and be angry about it because he will think itā€™s about Kai pressuring him. Kai will somehow convince him itā€™s not true, and Axel will soften towards him. And then theyā€™ll get together. Or, third, Axel will agree and itā€™ll be a straight up BDSM sugar baby situation. Either way, Iā€™m here for it all. šŸ«£

Luna

It's crazy how some people here say it's too toxic and they feel uncomfortable while I feel like it's not toxic enough šŸ¤£

Mallory Grant

Ahh, my boys are back! Though I'm getting intrigued with Kai and Axel. Y'all gotta remember, Kai was raised as a mafia kid, there's no way he's going to be instantly fluff for a guy he barely knows just cause he's curious. He also knows what Axel did to Onyx, and he might be a little rough around the edges cause of how he handled his friend. I honestly think Kai is being nicer than a normal mafia kid would, they'd just hold them down and take what they want, at least he's giving options. Axel could go on and ignore him and keep doing what he's doing, and Kai will let him. I'm curious to see what happens next!

Paf3lAli0

,,Youā€™re staring, Noctā€ AAAAAAAAAA- *explodes*

Alana Mendez

I think the most toxic thing Kai did in recent episodes is convince Axel to hookup with the girl then get angry he did. Other than that, Kai is giving Axel a way out of his debt situation that he knows damn well is gonna kill Axel sooner rather than later. What WAS the point of accumulating that debt to attend school, but having to work so much you hardly have time to eat and aleep much less go to school. Regardless Kai still tells him he won't force him and to just think on it. I've read some things on webtoon so toxic I put them down and never went back. Compared to that this Kai X Axel situation is just a bit rough around the edges. Although I do say this as a woman who has also consistently chosen toxic men irl as well šŸ˜‚šŸ˜… maybe I'm desensitized

Alana Mendez

I missed Keane and Onyx so much. I'd be happy to get intermittent fluff with them regularly between Kai and Axels scenes which are obviously not gonna be fluffy anytime soon.

Shizu Luv

I feel so bad for Axel ... he really doesn't want it and looks so dejected and will probably accept because he feels like he doesn't have a choice ... I love the idea of Axel and Kai but this goes beyond the idea of "me thinks thou doth protest too much"

Luna Lena
>>167192229

No, Kaiā€™s holding all the cards. He could just lie and pay it off for Axel, from the sound of it, but instead heā€™s making it a quid pro quo. Next time it wonā€™t be just a cut to the face? Thatā€™s not a choice. Itā€™s coercion at best.

Lukaven Griffith

I donā€™t like the way Kai is going around thisā€¦I understand Kai doesnā€™t know how to treat others normally and he is not ā€œforcingā€ him to do it but you all have to understand axel is DESPERATE and he is basically selling his body and if he doesnā€™t do it heā€™ll possibly be working off the debt till he dies/on the street bc he couldnā€™t keep up with school and doesnā€™t have a way to pay off the debt while paying for rent or worse deadā€¦Kai has all the power in this relationship what is stopping the guy from demanding more of axel or straight up stopping the ā€œ deal ā€œ they made? Axel wonā€™t have any say it how ā€œ farā€ they go in fear of his livelihood and possibly life going away and how will Kaiā€™s money help him pay off the debt if Kai is the son of the one who needs their money back???

Lukaven Griffith
>>167224275

I get that itā€™s spicy toxic shit butā€¦I donā€™t like how blurry the boundaries are and how one person has almost if not all the power while the other has to go along with itā€¦ it seem like itā€™s going that way i might have to stop reading this story.i like the creator and hope for the best with them but I have been in a similar situation as axel is inā€¦there wasnā€™t anything ā€œ steamy ā€œ about that relationship. It was traumatizing and I rather not feel those types of feelings bc of some story.

sunshine2919
>>167192229

Yeah I totally get your point, but heā€™s also giving him the reality of the situation of what could potentially happen. Axel is screwed either way. Axel was also the one who got himself into this mess by relying on loan sharks, and his dad even warned him about it not to go through this route. I have no idea why he didnā€™t look into other options from the very beginning like scholarships, work study, part time school while working, etc. before resorting to drastic measures. Maybe he didnā€™t think there was another way and didnā€™t have proper guidance to show him there are other ways to achieve his goal. Idk, I feel bad for him. One bad choice can lead to more bad choices out of desperation. I donā€™t think Kai is bad, and I think he will continue to go on dates with Axel and not force him into anything, and then maybe after finding out more about Axelā€™s story and character, I have a feeling that Kai will just pay off the loan and call off the benefits deal after catching feelings for him.

BJ

Sigh* Itā€™s never enough I fear Iā€™m addicted to the story šŸ˜

t

hi chat, i keep seeing mixed reviews about kai and axelā€™s relationship, which i find funny because the whole point of their dynamic is that itā€™s a toxic/dark romance. thatā€™s how most dark romance relationships workā€”theyā€™re not meant to be normal, healthy relationships. kai, the main love interest, is a dominant figure. he has money, power, and comes from a family involved in a gang. axel, on the other hand, is submissive, deep in debt to kaiā€™s father, struggling with his sexuality (though he doesnā€™t fully realize it yet), and comes from a much poorer background. so, of course, kai is going to take advantage of axel when heā€™s vulnerableā€”itā€™s exactly what youā€™d expect in this kind of story. and for kai, itā€™s an added bonus that he gets to know axel for who he truly is, especially considering his history with onyx. axel selling his body to pay off his debt? thatā€™s a classic trope in dark romance. itā€™s literally what kai said in this chapter: an eye for an eye. axel helps kai with his sexual needs, and in return, kai covers part of his debt. later on, once axel starts accepting the arrangement (which he will), i assume heā€™ll set boundariesā€”because in this kind of dynamic, the submissive usually establishes a set of rules for the dominant to follow. the more they mess around, the more theyā€™ll crave each other, but at the same time, theyā€™ll start genuinely getting to know one another. yes, axel is in a shitty situation, but this is normal for this type of dark romance. kai isnā€™t just being cruelā€”if anything, he actually likes axel, or he wouldnā€™t be bothering with him in the first place. heā€™s willing to test the waters, push axelā€™s limits, and pay off his debt, which already shows a level of investment. moral of the story? give dark romance a chance lol

Joobus

I really can't tell if Axel is closeted or if he thinks he's straight and is in for a gay awakening.

reidshadowlegends
>>167224275

I completely agree! Too many people are defending it by just saying "it's a story" "it's supposed to be toxic" But honestly unpopular opinion: stories shouldn't make you sick and want to stop reading. If this is the way it's fixa continue I honestly don't think I can keep reading

Luna
>>167227220

THIS! Finally somebody said that! I saw a comment about consent and I was like... "what?? šŸ˜ what consent?? This is not how dark romance works" and sure, Kai isn't a green flag but he isn't even that toxic...

Tina Gomez

Agonizingly, patiently waiting for the next update *swings feet*šŸ˜©šŸ©·āœØ

smegma

aww thats cute (i meant the onyx bit

t
>>167227220

yeahhhh, the whole point of kai and axelā€™s relationship isnā€™t supposed to be sweet and wholesome like onyx and keaneā€™s. kai and axel have way more tension compared to our main boys. axel comes across as a dominant character to other people, but in reality, he isnā€™tā€”at least not with kai. i really like how pasta is giving both of them distinct personalities. itā€™s like, if youā€™re not into kai and axelā€™s dynamic, thereā€™s always onyx and keaneā€™s relationship to love, and vice versa lol.

coolie

I really do not like where this is going. Sorry

RenƩe
>>167231000

I think he knows, because when he said heā€™s not gay it didnā€™t show his eyes, which I think is him feeling ashamed because he knows he is.

nerfer10
>>167246555

Yeahhhhhh. Using a MASSIVE debt to force someone into doing sexual favors for you blows right past problematic and into borderline rape territory...

nerfer10
>>167224275

Yeah. This doesn't feel like dark romance as much as full on NC and NC fin-dom.

nerfer10
>>167217352

Yeah, there were so many ways that this could have been an enemies to lovers thing without financial domination and forced prostitution. Like, holy fuck

nerfer10
>>167212850

This is gonna go down as one of my favorite lines in the whole series. Plus the smile on Keanes face when he said it was too goddamn cute I think I might explode

nerfer10
>>167204746

Yeah, every time I think he's going to do something that redeems him he doubles down and does something ten times worse. Like, he's worse than some full on dark romance bl out there, ones that are intended to be dark and unpleasant

nerfer10
>>167195078

Yeah. Like saying "either sleep with me or work yourself to death and probably be killed by a loan shark" isn't actually a choice. He's saying either fuck me or die.

nerfer10
>>167190419

Yeah, a choice between dying over financial debt and selling your body isn't actually a choice

Luna Lena
>>167192229

Nah, this is like, really victim-blame-y. Making a bad choice doesnā€™t mean someone with all the power is justified in offering ā€œa choiceā€ that will harm you as a remedy for the choice you made that is currently harming you. Regardless of Kaiā€™s intent - what heā€™s doing now is extortion and is undeniably abusive.

Itā€™s all surface level, though. He thinks he outed his best friend. He may be sexually curious about him, but I do still think he hates him. Or at least greatly dislikes him.

Kai, that's not the path šŸ˜¢ Someone help Axel... Now, i appreciate Keany/0nyx return

Joobus
>>167180836

I donā€™t think he actually has a thing beyond sexual attraction/curiosity. Onyx is his first, only, and best friend. He thinks Axel outed him, ruining what was left of his life and prompting him to run away and become homeless. Until he finds out Axel didnā€™t do it (which I believe), he will always have that fact blocking him from any real feelings or relationship with Axel.

itā€™s not everybodyā€™s cup of tea, and i get that, but at the same time, believe it or not, itā€™s a kink thatā€™s actually pretty normalized in the real world. you donā€™t always see it happening in front of you, but things like collaring, dom & sub relationships, and bdsm are real, and a lot of people are into them. bdsm has been around for decades, and kinks like degradation are real. thereā€™s nothing wrong with it as long as both parties are on the same page. iā€™m not saying itā€™s for everyone, but if both people consent and set boundaries, theyā€™ll engage in it safely. meaning, if axel isnā€™t completely comfortable with what kai is doing, heā€™ll have a safe word that theyā€™ve already discussed. thatā€™s the whole point of communication in these dynamicsā€”before anything happens, theyā€™ll talk about it, set rules, and make sure they both know their limits. (at least in most cases.) thatā€™s why kai is telling axel, ā€œhe wonā€™t force him.ā€ meaning axel has the ability to set rules and boundaries if kai ever becomes too much for him. this kind of dynamic isnā€™t about outright controlā€”itā€™s about mutual understanding and knowing each otherā€™s limits. axel might not realize it yet, but he does have power in the situation, and if something crosses a line for him, he can stop it.

I looked back on your comment from the last episode. Itā€™s very unlikely to be Haileyā€™s or Ethanā€™s doing. Axel is definitely at least indirectly responsible for Onyx being outted. Hailey was upset and lashed out at Keane for rejecting her in Ep.72, but then immediately apologized for it in Ep.73. We see the photo which outted Onyx in Ep.113. It is taken from exactly where we see Axel standing in Ep. 108, where we see Keane and Onyx are agreeing to head back at that moment. They only kiss once at that location, as we can see in Eps. 106. From Axelā€™s behavior in Ep. 108, I believe Axel witnessed them kissing. We see in Ep. 104 that Axel is suspicious of Keane and Onyx, which telegraphs his intention to follow them. If we believe Axel did not take the photo, then we would need to believe in addition to Axel, there was another person who also decided to pursue Axel and spy from exactly the same spot where Axel is standing, unnoticed or unacknowledged by Axel. OR that for whatever reason Axel could not follow them immediately, and some other person decided to follow, photographed the kiss, and fled the scene. And then Axel arrives, missing seeing them miss, and missing seeing this other personā€¦ and reacts as if ā€œhe just seen a ghostā€ just by witnessing them flirt with each other in Ep. 107-8. I doubt Axel would be comfortable spying Keane and Onyx meanwhile someone else is standing there photographing them. This all seems like too much of a stretch, and isnā€™t foreshadowed at all in this scene. What I COULD believe is that MAYBE Axel did not mean to out the boys to the whole school. Maybe he took the photo and shared it with a friend to prove that he was not crazy in his suspicions. And then it spread from there. Axel caused the boys to be outted, either intentionally or not. But you can still like him as a character, he might have done a terrible thing, but he has the ability to grow and be redeemed for it. I think thatā€™s a way more interesting and compelling character than one who is wrongly blamed for doing something that frankly felt very ā€œin characterā€ for him to do.

People will believe whatever they want to believe I guess. 1. BDSM and stuff like that should happen when both the parties want it willingly. Axel hasn't expressed any interest in BDSM or any kind of dom-sub relationship, yet. It becomes okay only when both parties want it to actively happen. If Axel realizes in the future that this was okay, that doesn't make him being forced or persuaded into being someone's experiment right. 2. The people who signed up for this did not know or were not informed that this is a dark romance with a BDSM subplot. So people did not sign up for this. So, as you can imagine, not everyone who loved BGF would like this subplot because that is not what they signed up for

>>167246555

lol, kai literally told axel to think about itā€”heā€™s not forcing him to do anything. kai has always been aggressive with axel since day one. i mean, he cut axelā€™s eyebrow in front of his guys and straight-up watched him make out with someone right in front of him?? thatā€™s a kink. itā€™s called voyeurism. itā€™s there. itā€™s always been there. like i said before, itā€™s not everybodyā€™s cup of tea, and thatā€™s fine. thatā€™s why keane and onyxā€™s relationship is more wholesome compared to axel and kaiā€™s dynamic. honestly, every BL iā€™ve ever read has had some dark romance tendenciesā€”whether itā€™s the main plot or just a subplot. itā€™s pretty common in the genre.

Firstly I would like to say thank you for replying in a calm and respectable manner. I would like to discuss this further if you would like in the same manner. I didnā€™t mention this in my previous comment, but I do believe it is exactly as you said. When I looked back, Axel didnā€™t have his phone nor was he shown to be there when they kissed. He was shown after the fact which I believe you have stated. I do think someone else mustā€™ve followed them and stood in the exact spot. Secondly, if you truly think about it, why hasnā€™t the author confronted Axel directly yet with Keane? When Keane and Axel first saw each other in the dorm, why wouldnā€™t the author make Keane confront Axel about the photo then and there? So far, nobody has confronted Axel directly about the photo except Kai and when it was finally mentioned to him, he was going to deny doing it. Not only that but he was interrupted which finally wouldā€™ve confirmed something. I do believe that Axel just happened to come and see them in only the episode he was shown. We canā€™t forget either that Axel being the one to out them hasnā€™t been confirmed yet. As to why it hasnā€™t been confirmed yet, who knows? I do think there is someone in the shadows and as for Hailey, she did apologize. Thank you so much for pointing that outā€¦ although, I do think that perhaps she still might have some hurt feelings. Itā€™s not out the scope of possibility for her to have seen Keane walking to wherever they were walking and followed him, and eavesdropped as well. She is in the same school and maybe she wanted to talk to him. However, I do know this is a chance but itā€™s so suspicious how the author really wants us to believe it is Axel, how they laugh when people bad mouth him, AND hasnā€™t even confronted it yet. However, I would like to say that Axel did see them kiss but there were two kisses at that spot. If you look at the episode where Axel appears, Keane kisses Onyx on the cheek, not on the lips. Not to mention, theyā€™re basically implying having sex, and seeing how Axel reacts when hearing that as seen in the chapter now, it can be seen that the faces he made are kind of similar. I do agree that it would be interesting and if he did in fact do it then damn Iā€™ve been so fooled. I am open to being persuaded though because if he did do it then he did do it. I really appreciate your feedback though!! If you have moreee to say then please! I love theory crafting and what not!

I guess I should stay away from BL then. If people seriously think that what Kai is doing is not weird, then idk what to say anymore šŸ˜ Just because there's a label for something, it doesn't make it right or nice. And just because Kai has a kink doesn't make it okay for him to do those things to Axel (who has not shown even 1% interest in this) lol. If there was someone who actually showed even 10% interest in the way Kai handles stuff, then I would have been completely on board. But ig his kink is to go after people who aren't interested šŸ™„

episodes 144-145, 150-152, and 160 really highlight the progression of kai and axelā€™s relationship, even if itā€™s subtle. in episode 144, axel suddenly leaves, and while we donā€™t know exactly why, there are a lot of possible reasons. most of the chat seems to believe he had a gay panic moment after kai pinned him against the wall, got a little too excited about it, and shoved kai away before running off. later, he returns to his dorm, but the fact that he left in the first place says a lot. then, in episodes 150-152, we actually get to see a softer side of their dynamic. their interactions have a surprisingly wholesome undertone, and by the end of it all, axel even eats a sandwich straight from kaiā€™s hand. itā€™s small, but itā€™s something. and in episode 160, axel notices kaiā€™s bruises and scars. heā€™s curious, but because of his pride, he refuses to ask about it. still, the fact that he even notices and seems to care, even if he wonā€™t admit it, shows that heā€™s starting to pay more attention to kai in ways he probably doesnā€™t fully understand yet. idk, man. to me, itā€™s there. this is a dark romance tendencies. yeah, itā€™s a subplot, but axel does show interest in kaiā€”maybe not in the obvious, straightforward way, but itā€™s there. he cares, or at the very least, heā€™s curious. and that curiosity? it matters. he might not fully understand what he wants because heā€™s never experienced this before, and honestly, neither has kai. this is new for both of them. their relationship has always been aggressive, but that doesnā€™t mean there isnā€™t something deeper underneath. it might seem weird if youā€™re not into this type of genre, and thatā€™s totally okay. dark romance isnā€™t for everyone. but i just hope you can at least understand their dynamic for what it is. itā€™s not normal in the conventional sense, and it never will be to people who arenā€™t into this kind of story. but for them? itā€™s their normal. if that makes sense. also, just to be clear, iā€™m not arguing or trying to force anythingā€”i totally get that this genre isnā€™t for everyone. i just like explaining it to people who might not be familiar with it, because at the end of the day, itā€™s just a story. lol :)))

Yes!! Straight up trapped and both choices suck. I'd want to crawl out of my skin. And I'm not happy that he doesn't seem to realize the position he really just put him in. Like it's his fault he lost his job at the bar too seeing as he's the one that cut his face to begin with. Made him swap rooms. Made him spend time with him with the promise of money. Made him feel like he had to kiss the girl he brought over. Like for a guy that wants out of the family business he sure still likes to act like he's still deep in it. I super appreciate him helping Onyx! But also, the way he's treating Axel is awful. They need a proper talk about however this is about to go down. That, or if I was Axel, run. Like to anywhere. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but even if I like Kai, I'm pissed with him.

Becshlec

Again, I love my boys, but I am SO FUCKING INVESTED IN KAI AND AXEL. Also, itā€™s okay that their story isnā€™t everybodyā€™s favorite, but I personally love it. Even though you crashed out last minute. I agree, these lot aren't really seeing it from Kai and Axels perspective. It's a very toxic world they live in, so of course if they want to try something new it's going to be toxic.

Clairity

IDC I'm LIVING for Kai and Axel, toxic and all. I really do think Kai may do the right thing in the end (not force this transactional relationship)--but if he doesn't, I'll still eat it up šŸ˜©šŸ˜©šŸ˜©šŸ˜©

SakuraHarunaxx

I hate this trope because when you want to develop the relationship later on, its very hard and usualy takes a lot of good writting. I was more or so hoping for Axels slow gay awakening and not this.

Joobus
>>167246555

I can totally get that. Best case scenario (and please know I use the word "best" in a loose way given these circumstances) is that it's just a straight up no but later Axel gets curious and it is completely consensual and not this... idk it feels too severe to even call it dubcon.

Joobus
>>167227220

Yeah, I can totally get people being put off by it, and I get the disgust. I think I've just become so numb after seeing this trope in media so often (ESPECIALLY in queer media, for some reason). I'd generally steer clear from this kinda thing despite it giving me the ick, but I'm so far into this story that I'd rather not drop it; I've loved Kai so far (well, not so much right now but I digress), I am curious about Axel's backstory that gave him this internalized homophobia (based on comments it sounds like he's closeted rather than thinking he's straight), I want to find out who actually outed Onyx, etc. Too much lore in my brain to quit now. But I'm not gonna yuck somebody else's yum (well, unless their yum is like... call the cops on this reader).

Last time the author gave us a link to read it elsewhere. I was hoping they would do that again for us.

RĆ©mi I N

As much as I love this comics (and believe me I do) and as much as it would be interesting to see Kai become a thing with Axel (which I do as well), this comes of too much as sexual/financial coercion, which I cannot be ok with... I fully trust for any relationship to evolve from enemies to lovers on healthier grounds, but I had to notify my unease.

yanamono

I think atp the author needs to start adding some sort of tw. This level of sexual harassment and extortion is reaching a level that is clearly making a lot of people uncomfortable. I see how the toxicity is a plot device here and how there's also people who enjoy reading it (it's fiction after all, so it shouldn't be forbidden), but we need to remember that a lot of people came here for the mostly harmless best friends to lovers trope, so a warning would be appreciated. Especially if it gets any more violent.

Agreed maybe it's because I've read so much toxic/ twisted yaoi that I can say with šŸ’Æ serenely. These types of situations never end correctly.
