I had to read through this again and I got more thoughts 😭 I feel so bad for Axel. His scholarships were all rejected. His mom couldn't/wouldn't help to support him. He can't get student loans cause his dad is a convicted felon. He wants to do something with his life and not be a felon like his dad even though his dad offered to hook him up with "work". Was warned not to go with loan sharks by his pos father but had no choice BECAUSE OF HIM. And now he's being coerced!! And has agreed!! Ugh!! I know he's a little shit but he wanted to make something of himself 😭 I feel so bad for him. He's crying and I am just so upset for him. He's exhausted and has too much on his shoulders. I hope he gets some peaceful sleep soon 🥺

Hoping to see if Axel will also get a redemming moment with Keane and especially onyx. Imagine if this homophobic bully from middle school was actually internalising his homophobia all along. We don't know much about Axel's home-life, or how he was raised. I wonder if he might've been raised to think negatively about same sex couples. Or maybe something traumatic happened to Axel once upon a time in his childhood that was the fault of someone who swung 'that way.' What if axel's been suppressing those desires since he was young, to the point present day Axel is desperate to think of himself as straight. As 'normal.' He could have possibly forgotten all about his romantic orientation to keep himself safe. And if his crush on "lynx" was a hint that axel actually liked Onyx all along. Axel would definitely never allow himself to feel, think, nor consider any gay crushes he has out of a confused mix of his learned hate and resentment towards same sex couples, and fear of ever being what he hated most. For reasons unknown, axel seems to be holding a secret grudge against same sex couples/gays in general. He may of felt safe to pursue Lynx, who was a near carbon copy of his possible crush, Onyx. If this would be true, the poor boy would have been so excited for the chance to pretend to have a relationship with his gay crush. 🥲
