Onyx should know better! Keane has never actually done anything wrong. He isn’t a mind reader. But I do agree that Nyxie needs to go to therapy, get an ESA cat, and climb a a mountain and scream his lungs out. Also I think his dad died.

Its unfortunate cause its like onyx is internalize his own fear of homophobia and in doing so is acting somewhat homophobic towards himself and Keane. Like "dont act like that cause people will get the wrong idea that we are gay" as if they are not. Its deeper then just being embarrassed and its actually really sad but I dont understand why onyx doesn't just talk to Keane. Keane has literally given him full opportunity to be forward with him and has been clearly supportive on all fronts. Its like onyx has bpd and keeps trying to self sabotage or something. Hopefully thats not the case. Hopefully he just comes clean and tells Keane that hes not ready to be so "out" even if Keane is, he either needs to give him real time to come to accept himself or make it clear that hes gonna keep feeling rejected because onyx is not ready to be the kinda lover that Keane is expecting out of him. If he doesn't come to terms then he will never get better or actually be happy with keane an the only realistic next step would be that onyx needs therapy and I feel like this story is diving deep into the dark side of bL more then the enjoyable side. Its a hard pill to swallow at some points. I still enjoy the writing and art and im not expecting it to go the way i wish it would, but im really really really freaking hopeful that they will have a break through sometime soon and just be able to be happy and be best friends again and also be able to be lovers without feeling like there's clock counting down on thier relationship. I'd really like to learn more about what the hell is going on with kais dad and what hes stalking axel for and where all that is going cause its really weird for loan sharks to be sooo invested in a collage kid who's making payments when there's probably like so many other people that owe them money. My heads in a jumble. I love you all

I feel so bad for Keane with each of those little moments of tiny rejections. It’s like a quiet punch to the gut each time. I hope Onyx figures out how to just communicate to Keane where he’s at mentally so he knows it’s not his fault. Keane is such a good boy doing such a great of job! He deserves his little ears 🐶

Being messy again? I wouldn't call it that. Onyx is completely in his head, never once enjoying himself. He's so ashamed of who he is, and can't acknowledge his poor boyfriend at all. He has a long way to go, if he ever wants to be able to love himself. And he needs to do that if he wants to be able to love other people. Keane desperately tries to show affection and love in that public space which the fair undeniable is. I feel so sorry for him. 😞

Oh no, I like this ship but Onyx has huge communication issue, which I can understand because he has a lot of trauma, but he doesn’t even try to communicate with Keane at all. I understand that he is in his head most of the time due to everything he has been trough, but I still think that he could try a bit more to communicate with Keane.

I think given how intensely onyx has behaved in the past, it was a lot to ask that he be able to behave normally in a relationship all of a sudden. Onyx promised Keane he wouldn’t run away before and then immediately ran away. Onyx time and time again no matter how obviously Keane loved him, made up stories in his head about how Keane doesn’t feel the same way about him. Onyx is mentally screwed. I mean, you don’t just suddenly recover from you’re dad almost killing you with time alone. That’s professional help territory. Love is never enough in these situations no matter how cute the stories are …. Keane is naive and he doesn’t know what to do plus if he did push onyx would push back harder. I’m not sure what Keane should do.

I think Onyx will try to explain himself in a way that doesn't indicate he needs to go to therapy (he will fail), Keane won't buy it, and one or both of them will want some space. That's when hopefully Onyx will run into Axel, and they can hash their shit out, and we can *finally* get some real healing P.S-- Pasta, you know you owe us a ton of fluff once all this drama bullshit is done, right? Like, SO MUCH

I think this is a very valid reaction for Onyx to have and a behaviour that is very common amongst Gay/Queer people which few stories ever depict. To me Onyx isn't being internally homophobic but more doing the 'Who is around?', 'is it safe? 'If i do anything, what will happen?' Not sure about younger generations, but older gay/queer people (like me - I'm 40) who experienced a lot of homophobia tend to do this kind of thing. Its not often depicted in media, so i'm glad to see it. That external pressure never really goes away, because of the dichotomy between the very act of perceived 'heteronormality' and the othering of 'Queerness' Unfortunately until the need to 'come out' ends, this will continue. Either way i relate a lot onyx here and have been in that situation many many times. For Keane, its difficult because he hasn't experienced a lot of the same pushback and rejection. Which in itself is an entire can of worms.

Onyx lowkey acts like Axel. Seeing a common theme with these ships which is a nice parallel for the story. Definitely feel bad for Keane tho. He just wants a normal relationship but Onyx doesn’t see their relationship as normal.
