What I am wondering about is what is the father and mother's relationship? Are they together or not? When the dad's there it seem like he is just away on business and the mom and dad are together. The mom has become oppressed since the dad returned. She has become very quiet and reserved. The guys don't really have to worry. Just bide their time they will be off to college soon. They can go to the same college or one near each other and live together no worries. I am not sure why they haven't talked yet, but they will. It seems like they are slow dating. Onyx mouth isn't broken. If he wants to discuss these things he can bring them up. Don't wait for Keane to take the lead all the time. He is a part of this relationship too.

Onyx’s mom was possibly bragging about Keane and Onyx’s relationship and how good Onyx was at basketball and the dad got mad and went off about how he needs to focus on his studies 🙄 my take on people making assumptions (like Onyx’s dad complaining about people thinking his son was gay) if people don’t want to be around you because they think you’re gay—or think you’re anything for that matter—then it’s probably best that they’re being kept away from you. The dad should just get another baby momma and hope he can hold his position together another 18-22 years or so and hope that the next kid wants the job. If not, just pick one of the kids who did go to the school he wants Onyx to go to and ask if he wants to take over the legacy. Give it to someone who wants it, bruv 🙄 the dad is so silly 🙃

If the mother and father are divorced, why does she just sit there and let him be an ass? Or stay in their house when she clearly parents differently. He hadn't been a part of their life in years and she just sits there allowing him in HER home talking to HER child like that? Obviously the Hispanic women are very different bc my mother would have thrown hands ages ago, and so would have I. My mom raised me on her own and though my father had a right to know what was going on, he never had a right to tell her how to parent. And at Onyx's age, I certainly didn't listen to my dad's shit without a fight.... Idk maybe I was a hellion. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The relationship between the parents still either isn’t clear or doesn’t quite make sense. The Mom barely exists and when she is physically present she still has no voice, so what the heck? At this point, she’s just a prop. The Dad who suddenly showed up has said more in two chapters than she has for this entire story…How can she just not have anything to say about her ex husband moving in to keep an eye one their son when he hasn’t bothered to be present before? If it were me I’d be pissed about him questioning my parenting skills when I’m the parent who is present and doing the work. I wouldn’t let him just do as he pleases. I hope she eventually decides to speak up.
