Onyx, you don't want to do this, because you'll develop unhealthy coping mechanisms. Of course we'd all love for you to kiss and be intimate with Keane, but only at the right time. It's ok if you don't want to talk about it in this moment, but if you're hinting at what I think you're hinting at, just...no. Hopefully Keane recognizes this and doesn't let it go too far. If anything, it's ok to kiss and cuddle...nothing wrong with that. 🥰 Lay in silence with each other if you need to. Using sex/sexual acts as a bandaid is the start of a bad habit (especially as a first time). As for those classmates, they'll get what's coming to them for their bigoted, bully tactics. The peanut gallery in the classroom letting out an audible "Gasp!" just from his own best friend grabbing his hand is so dramatic and passé of them. 🙄 Onyx is not the bubonic plague for goodness sake, ugh. Passive aggressive bullying is not a problem and using hateful slurs to graffiti a fellow classmate's desk is ok, but God forbid his friend takes his "gay hand" in a moment of obvious distress. It's like a bunch of kindergarteners isolating someone with cooties, sheesh. *Yawn* 🥱😒

Been reading the comments, and first Pasta, OMG! You have me freaking enthralled, your an amazing artist and writer. Thank you so much for what you are doing and for bringing these tough issues to the forefront of your comic. Second, as a openly gay man these issues are still out there even in these days, homophobia still exists especially outside the EU, US and Canada. Also, Pasta is making this pretty realistic around 95% of gay men utilize sex for coping and other mechanisms, especially around the age of these two characters. It may not be as prominent now as it was in the later part of the 20th century but it is still abundantly used in many ways in the gay male community. Again, Pasta all I can say is Thank You from the bottom of my heart for this tale and for showing some of reality.

Resorting to sex like this is a pretty Unhealthy coping mechanism...but like...one that is extremely common among queer men. It's extremely common for gay men to use sex as a coping mechanism...as a sort of tool to escape their problems for a moment. Is it healthy? Hell nah. But does it add a level of realness to the story? Yeah...a painful one. Onyx going through with this because of the pain and regretting it later is pretty normal...and Keane feeling pressured by the situation and kinda just...lost...but in the end giving in to onyx's request...that's also pretty normal...
