Yep, it's another paying-member-exclusive Thursday posts Horrifically Overpowered Class Features for the Hybrid and Occult character classes of Pathfinder 1st edition. This goes along with the paying-member-exclusive Index of Horrifically Overpowered Content, which I will update every time a new Horrifically Overpowered product or article goes up. The index also has the Horrifically Overpowered Feat I suggest using to allow characters to access these HO class features.

Today I'm tackling the Skald, the barbarian/bard hybrid class that has been accused of being a better bard than the bard, and being able to let other characters be better barbarians than the barbarian. But even if that were to be true, it's certainly not a problem when making Horrifically Overpowered version of the character!

(A Horrifically Overpowered Skald with the Horn of Eld, by Николай Акатов)

Horrifically Overpowered Skald Class Skills (Horrifically Overpowered): For all Int-, Wis-, and Cha-based Skald class skills, you are treated as having a minimum number of ranks in the skill equal to half your Skald level. This does not add to any ranks you actually have in those skills.

For all Str-, Dex-, and Con-based Skald class skills, when you use raging song, you can take 10 with those skills. However, if you have more ranks in such skills than your Barbarian + +Bloodrager + Skald class levels, you take a penalty to such take 10 checks equal to the amount your skill ranks exceed your total level of those classes.

Horrifically Overpowered Skald Armor and Weapon Proficiency (Horrifically Overpowered): When using raging song, wielding a a simple or martial weapon, musical instrument, or shied (other than tower shield) does not prevent you from using the same hand to complete somatic spell components. Also while in raging song, you do not suffer any armor check penalty or speed reduction from light or medium armor or a shield (other than tower shield).

Horrifically Overpowered Bardic Knowledge (Skald) (Horrifically Overpowered): Whenever someone who has spent at least 8 hours with you in the past 48 hours succeeds at a Knowledge check to Identify a monster’s abilities and weaknesses, they gain information as if their skill check had been 10 points higher (normally granting them 2 additional pieces of useful knowledge).

Horrifically Overpowered Raging Song (Horrifically Overpowered): You add your Constitution modifier to your rounds of raging song per day. Each time a foe damages you with a melee attack while you are using raging song, you don't need to expend a round of raging song to maintain it on your next turn. Your allies can decide what specific elements of raging song to accept, and may choose (for example) not to lose the ability to make certain kinds of skill checks while under your raging song's influence. Allies with character levels lower lower level than your skald level benefit from your ranging song for a number of rounds equal to the difference in your levels x the difference in your levels after your ranging song ends (or after they can no longer hear it).

Horrifically Overpowered Scribe Scroll (Horrifically Overpowered): You treat the spells on any scroll you scribed that is on your person with a spell 1 or more levels below your highest spell level as spells known.

Horrifically Overpowered Versatile Performance (Horrifically Overpowered): You add half your skald level to your Perform skill check when you are using Perform in place of any skill you have selected with versatile performance.

Horrifically Overpowered Well Versed (Horrifically Overpowered): You gain resist (sonic) equal to double your skald level. At bard level 16, you are immune to sonic damage. You can dispel any language-dependent or sonic spell or spell-like ability as a reaction or move action, without expending any spell slot, using a Perform check in place of a caster level check for your dispel check.

Horrifically Overpowered Rage Power (Horrifically Overpowered): Upon reaching 3rd level, and every three levels thereafter (6th, 9th, and so on), you can choose to learn a new rage power in place of a rage power you have already learned. In effect, you loses the rage power in exchange for the new one. The old rage power cannot be one that was used as a prerequisite for another rage power, a feat, prestige class, or other ability. You can only change one rage power at any given level and must choose whether or not to swap the rage power at the time you gain a new rage power for the level.

As a free action when you begin a raging song, you can choose to learn a new rage power in place of the most recent rage power you have already learned. In effect, you lose the rage power in exchange for the new one. You can change only the most recent rage power gained, and must meet the prerequisites for the newly selected rage power. You can change your most recent rage power a number of times per day equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1).

Horrifically Overpowered Uncanny Dodge (Horrifically Overpowered): You also gain evasion, when functions in no armor, light armor, or medium armor. If you already have evasion, you gain improved evasion instead.

Horrifically Overpowered Spell Kenning (Horrifically Overpowered): You add your Charisma modifier to the number of times per day you can use spell kenning. You can use spell kenning to cast spells with metamagic feats, as long as the total spell level + metamagic adjustment does not exceed the level of the skald spell you expend to cast the kenning spell.

Horrifically Overpowered Lore Master (Horrifically Overpowered): You gain additional uses per day of Lore Master equal to your Charisma bonus.

Horrifically Overpowered Improved Uncanny Dodge (Horrifically Overpowered): You also gain improved evasion, when functions in no armor, light armor, or medium armor. If you already have improved uncanny dodge, you gain a +1 Dodge bonus to AC, instead. If you already have improved evasion, you gain a +1 Dodge bonus to AC, instead.

Horrifically Overpowered Damage Reduction (Horrifically Overpowered): When raging, your damage reduction value doubles and becomes hardness. Subtract your hardness value from damage prior to any energy resistance or DR from another source.

Horrifically Overpowered Damage Reduction (Horrifically Overpowered): When you use raging song, you can have up to 3 benefits of your raging song active at a time, without increasing the number of rounds of raging song expended.
