Horrifically Overpowered Class Features for Pathfinder 1e - The Vampire Hunter (Patreon)
Content
And, with this, the Vampire Hunter, I have now created Horrifically Overpowered class features for every official Alternate, Base, Core, Hybrid, and Unchained character class found in a 1st edition Pathfinder rulebook created by the game's official publisher. For paying members of this Patreon, those FOURTY-FIVE classes are all listed on the Index of Horrifically Overpowered Content.
So, THIS time I'm REALLY done, right?
Well...
I've carefully not talked about alternate class features, archetypes, or prestige classes. Because that way lies madness. Honestly, rewriting class features for 45 classes is already fairly insane, but trying to get every possible player-character class feature option is simply a BIGGER undertaking.
But...
These articles have been remarkably popular. And, one of the most common complaints I have heard about prestige classes in Pathfinder 1e is that they don't give you enough to make up for all the advancement in your normal class that you give up. So, it FEELS like people might be interested in Horrifically Overpowered Prestige Class Features.
But I am NOT taking on all the PrC in all of Pathfinder, not even just those taken from all of the official Pathfinder content. I'd start with JUST those found in the PCRB: arcane archer, arcane trickster, assassin, dragon disciple, duelist, eldritch knight, loremaster, mystic theurge, path chronicler, and shadowdancer. If I got through all of those and people still wanted more, I might consider adding the 8 or so from the APG, or having a poll to let paying patrons select their favorites.
Other Horrifically Overpowered options include doing Horrifically Overpowered class features for some popular 3pp classes from one or more company (with Dreamscarred's psionic classes, or things from Kobold, Rite Publishing, or Rogue Genius Games all high on the list), or switching to a scattering of Horrifically Overpowered Spells, Horrifically Overpowered Magic Items, or even Horrifically Overpowered Skills. Of I could move to more Horrifically Overpowered content for other game systems -- Starfinder 1e, Starfinder 2e, PF2, or 5e being top of THAT list.
Paying Patrons will get a pool soon, which I'll run for a week, that will include all those options, but also "Something Else." The resulting articles will all be available to all members, but getting to vote is one of the perks of paying to help support this Patreon!

(Yeah. vampire hunters often look like this even BEFORE they are HO. You should see the exemplar. Art by warmtail.)
Horrifically Overpowered Vampire Hunter Class Skills (Horrifically Overpowered): You gain a +1 bonus on all your skill checks when they are regarding, affecting, or made in the domian of undead. This includes checks opposed by an undead, checks made in the dwelling of an undead, and checks that answer questions about the powers or actions of undead (including tracking undead). This bonus increases to +2 at 4th level, and by an additional +1 every other level thereafter.
Horrifically Overpowered Vampire Hunter Weapon and Armor Proficiencies (Horrifically Overpowered): When using a weapon this class grants proficiency with, your attacks are automatically bane against undead. The bonus to attack and damage rolls you gain against undead from this bane magic weapon property increases to +3 at 12th level, and by an additional +1 every 4 levels thereafter to a maximum of +5 at 20th level. Every time the bonus to attack and damage you gain from bane goes up by +1, the extra damage it deals against undead increases by +1d6.
When wearing armor this class grants you proficiency with, you gain SR against spells and spell-like abilities from undead equal to 10 + your class level. If using a shield this class grants you proficiency with, the SR increases by 3.
Horrifically Overpowered Technique Feat (Horrifically Overpowered): Each time you gain a bonus feat with the technique feat class feature, you can select one bonus combat feat and one vampire hunter technique feat.
Horrifically Overpowered Track (Horrifically Overpowered): As long as a creature leaves tracks on the ground, you cannot fail to track it. You can also track creatures moving through water (-10 to your Survival check), air (-20 to your Survival check), and even teleporting or changing planes (-30 to your Survival check).
Anytime you successfully track a creature, you can also make a check to identify the creatures and it's special powers or vulnerabilities. The DC for this check is calculated as it is for Knowledge kills, but you can use either the appropriate Knowledge skill or Survival to make the check, whichever is better.
Horrifically Overpowered Relentless (Horrifically Overpowered): You do not need to make a Fortitude save when using this ability; you can use it every day without fail. When you sleep, you appear awake, and do not take a penalty to Perception checks. You can sleep in medium armor without penalty.
Horrifically Overpowered Stake (Horrifically Overpowered): This works with bludgeoning and lashing weapons as well. If you make an attack against a vampire that has a natural 20 as the attack roll (the die shows a 20), and you confirm the critical threat as a critical hit, you are considered to have staked the vampire with the weapon you used to make the attack. You can replace a weapon you used to stake a vampire with a piercing weapon as a full round action.
Horrifically Overpowered Relentless (Horrifically Overpowered): Allies affected by your relentless gain all the benefits of Horrifically Overpowered relentless. You must have Horrifically Overpowered relentless to select this ability.
Horrifically Overpowered Vampire Tracker (Horrifically Overpowered): You can track creatures that do not leave tracks, including those using pass without trace or using favored terrain to not leave tracks. The DC for you to successfully track a creature is not modified for poor light conditions or the Cover Tracks feat. You must have Horrifically Overpowered track to select this ability.
Horrifically Overpowered Vampire Bane (Horrifically Overpowered): A creature repulsed by your vampire bane ability must wait 1d4 rounds after each failed save before it can attempt a new saving throw. This ability can be used against other undead, but the save DC is 15 + (1/2 your class level) + your Charisma bonus. It can also be used against aberrations and outsiders, but the save DC is 10 + 1/2 your class level + your Charisma bonus.
Horrifically Overpowered Remove Vampirism (Horrifically Overpowered): You can use this ability as a full-round action and do not need holy water to do so. It prevents a creature or corpse from returning as any form of undead, subject to the same rules as removing vampirism.
Horrifically Overpowered Quarry (Horrifically Overpowered): Your quarry ability applies to all undead, without you having to take an action to select one.
Horrifically Overpowered Critical Resources (Horrifically Overpowered): This ability now functions anytime you score a critical hit against any foe. If the item used as a save DC, you use the better of its normal DC or 10 + 1/2 your class level + your Dexterity bonus.
Horrifically Overpowered Improved Quarry (Horrifically Overpowered): Your quarry ability applies to all aberrations, outsiders, and undead, without you having to take an action to select one.
Horrifically Overpowered Master Vampire Hunter (Horrifically Overpowered): This ability can also be used against aberrations and outsiders. Once you use it against a creature, it is only immune to the master vampire hunter ability for 1 minute.
FUNDRAISING
Hey folks, I try not to force people who enjoy this space to see me trying to raise funds to cover cancer health care costs, but I'm making an exception this time around.
I need to get a procedure to check to make sure I am still in remission. After insurance (and having met my full deductible), that's going to cost me $826.67. The full amount is due in advance.
On top of the medical costs I am still paying off, my occupational and physical therapy, and my prescriptions, I don't have that to spare at the moment.
So, if you want to donate, here's the link to my GoFundMe. Every tiny bit helps.https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-owen-kc-stephens-fight-cancer
Thanks!
