Practical Pastiche: Pancake Circus (Patreon)
Content
“Practical Pastiche” is a series I expand on from time to time, offering drop-in names you can use in your home ttRPG campaigns to replace real-world organizations, places, groups, and anything else you might want to use in a fictional world without the baggage of using real-world elements.
Pancake Circus
Pancake Circus is a 24-hour breakfast-focused, clown-and-circus themed restaurant. Always open, always offering free coffee refills, and always covered in garish circus art and props, Pancake Circus is often seen as a friendly family restaurant from 7am to 8pm, as a college student hangout from 8pm to 1am, and as the have of nightowls, street folk, trickers, and the mix of the late shift getting off work and the morning shift going to work from 1am to 7am.
Here are some typical pancake Circus menu items
Three Ring Breakfast: Pick three different flavors of Mega-Ringcakes, choice of any 3 meats, any three Sideshow items, and hashbrowns. Make it Clownishly Big for only an extra $2.95.
Clown Car Bottomless Breakfast: A car shaped bowl of cream of wheat, grits, or oatmeal and a cup of coffee, both with unlimited refills.
Fire-Eater Sausage and Gravy: Two fluffy Top Hat biscuits covered in sausage gravy almost too spicy to handle!
The Fried Parade: The company doesn't like to talk about the fact this used to be called "The Freakshow Fries" until the mid-1990s. It's bits of weird shaped offcuts of ham, potatoes, onions, bread, and maybe other things that are breaded and deep fried, and served with a Clownishly Big cup of ranch dressing.
Cirque du Soufflé: A light and fluffy egg dish with your choice of any or all of cheese, ham, sausage, and spinach,
