"Sauroth the Vile God was defeated in the 3rd Epoch by heroes of the Sacral League. Eternal and immortal, Sauroth was imprisoned by the other gods in the Donjon Indicible. The Goddess Nyngol was tasked to be the donjon's keeper, with the promise of eternal mortal adoration."-"Writ and Will of Nyngol," Fifth International Edition
"While declaring the Akashics to be Agents of Sauroth, based on their refusal to destroy written records of his deeds, and their Lycees thus Dungeons did extend the tradition of Holy Donjon Perlustrators by four centuries, after the Fifth Donjon Crusade, and then the Children's Donjon Crusade, there were simply no more major complexes of rock, stone, earth, or metal one could reasonably call a Dungeon, and thus no opportunity to anoint and bless new Perlustrators in Nyngol's name." -"A History of Devout Delving in the Fourth Epoch," by Professor Hamza Usman
"Look, I don't KNOW how good the ratings need to be to keep a Goddess happy, okay? We KNOW if we drop out of the Top Fifty there are earthquakes and plagues. Can we get away with being Top Thirty, Top Twenty? Fuck if I know! But if you want to keep this show a guaranteed Top Ten hit, we have GOT to lower the age of new contestants to 17 and stop requiring parental consent. Make it a freedom of religion thing or some shit like that. But internationally, we have DRAINED the candidate pool. Yeah, YEAH, Season 54 was too deadly. But you have to admit, the Temple of Writhing Death got GREAT ratings!"-From the Personal Audio Records of Rikkard Blomcoli, Executive Producer for the Broadcast Performance, 'Dungeon Delver Extreme, International'.
"10: The worship of Nyngol is not mandatory for contestants. However, politely and respectfully accepting the blessing of and/or anointing from any Nyngolite catechist, formator, or priest that wishes to grant it is required. Also, as a practical matter, The Church of Nyngol: Warden provides health services to contestants between rounds as a courtesy, and can withhold same at their discretion, without prior notification. 10.1: Membership in Nyngolite laity or ecclesiastic ranks is allowed, and can be stated during broadcast and even added to all bylines. However, such membership must be to a specific, acknowledged Nyngolite denomination (see Appendix 7), and if the Showrunners receive denouncement of a contestant's claims to their membership from a formal denomination representative, no further claim of association to Nyngolite organizations is allowed without a formal affidavit from their Delver Department.10.2: Nyngolite factions may act independently to advocate for a Delver with the public, but may not coordinate such efforts with Showrunners or their employees or agents. No special treatment will be granted to any Delver due to religious organizational requests. However, divine miracles that favor a specific contestant are allowed within the rules of the Contest, and are not subject to review."-From the official "Dungeon Delver Extreme Contestant Handbook."
