We did a first draft of the core ability of our Starfinder-compatible time thief class in Part 1 of this series. With that as an example of the kind of ability we expect the class to use, let's look at some base statistics, like HP, SP, Key Ability Score, and so on.

I see the Time Thief as filling a skill expert/sneaking and espionage style role. Much as soldier, solarian, vanguard, and evolutionist are all chiefly combatants but fill different niches within that role, the time thief joins the operative as a high skills/subtlety/finesse class with combat as a secondary role, just handing those roles in a different manner.

Key Ability Score - Dex or Cha

Your Dexterity helps you to avoid attacks, escape danger, react quickly, and maneuver through tricky spots. Your Charisma aids you in talking your way out of trouble, concealing your appearance, and fooling the unwise. At 1st level, select one of these two ability scores to be your key ability score -- once made, this decision cannot be changed. In addition to its normal benefits to skills and some combat statistics, your key ability score determines the effectiveness of many of your class abilities.

High Intelligence boosts your skills, and can help you bypass tricky mechanical or computerized security systems.

Class Skills

The Time Thief's class skills are Acrobatics (Dex), Athletics (Str), Bluff (Cha), Computers (Int), Culture (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Disguise (Cha), Engineering (Int), Intimidate (Cha), Perception (Wis), Piloting (Dex), Profession (Cha, Int, or Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Stealth (Dex), Survival (Wis).Skill Points at each Level: 8 + Int modifier.

Support in My Battle Against Cancer

I've been fighting cancer for a year now, and I'm likely going to have to launch a medical GoFundMe soon. Not only are we looking at our third insurance deductible in 14 months, but even when insurance pays its share, the costs can be extremely high. I'm regularly getting $25,000 procedures, and unholy fire (radiation treatments) ain't cheep either. I've been doing everything I can to keep our head above water--from itemized medical bills to contacting financial aid departments and charities and cancer support groups to running sales to sell my possessions -- but the bills keep coming due, and we're at our capacity for juggling payments.

People who want to help now, rather than wait, can join this Patreon, or make a donation directly to my ko-fi(https://ko-fi.com/owenkcstephens)(which I get 100% of). And I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me so far -- I would not still be here without your help.

Glad to see the excellent Time Thief class getting new life in another cool system! The Time Thief & Time Warden were two of my fave 3PP classes in PF1. Both were supremely well-built, chronomantic-flavored classes that got a lot of run with my Pathfinder group.
