My apologies for the lack of updates on the progress of v13. I have found out that there are some very basic things going wrong with the sheet, namely the order in which the fields are being calculated. In order to fix this, I'm re-indexing all the fields to see what calculates what and in what order everything *should* be in. This is boring work, and thus not progressing as fast...

I wish I had more of an update for version 13, but I have mostly been busy (again) with finishing a website for this project. I expect the website will be up the start of next week!

UA: Order Domain

The sheets in the download post have been updated with the latest Unearthed Arcana article 'Order Domain'. For the Scholar-tier patrons, you can find the updated PDFs also on Dropbox and Google Drive.

My modest coding experience has me sympathizing with the issues you're working through with the sheet. Thank you for your continued efforts to maintain and improve this amazing project!

Rachel Sanchez

The groundwork code gets the least amount of glory but is the foundation for everything else. Thank you for your hard work, seen and unseen. :)

Have no fear! We all understand and shall continue to support you!

Are the latest sheets still v12.999?

Daniel Stolp

Hey MPMB, I don't know if other's have had this problem or not, but I have a 17th level Arcane Trickster, and for some reason the spell slots do not calculate correctly when I create the spellsheet. Have you had this issue?

morepurplemorebetter

Thank you for reporting any issues you have with the sheet. I'm interested to know how you can make the sheets do that, when starting from a freshly downloaded v12.999 of the sheet, because more people have reported something similar but I have never been able to reproduce this issue. You can easily change the number of spell slots shown with the modifier fields. Spell slots are calculated when changing level, not when generating a spell sheet.

I don't know if this the appropriate place for this, but it would be really cool to implement a bag of holding feature. Maybe have an option to have the Equipment and Extra Equipment sections calculate their section's weight separately from one another. Just a thought! Thanks!

morepurplemorebetter

I'm not sure what you mean with "an option to have the Equipment and Extra Equipment sections calculate their section's weight separately from one another". With 'sections', do you mean columns? All columns have a subtotal and you can toggle whether or not a subtotal is counted against the total weight carried. That way you can use one or more columns for what's in your bag of holding and not have it counted as weight carried. You can toggle this using the "Weight" button and bookmark. By default the extra equipment section is not counted towards the total weight carried.

Joshua Simpson

Sorry for lack of clarity, we were in the middle of playing when it crossed my mind and typed that up. As of right now, I have the Equipment section on page two removed from the weight calculation and manually add the weight together from the three columns to see if the Bag of Holding is reaching the 500lb capacity. I guess what I'm trying to get at is having two total Weight Carried summaries under the currency section, or wherever, in which you can have X and Y columns total up in one and Z in another, etc. Hope that clears things up :)

morepurplemorebetter

So you would want fields for every permutation of totals of columns? I don't think the sheet has space for that, unfortunately.

Joshua Simpson

Here's another idea, would it be possible to just add a "Grand Subtotal" for the three columns on page two say, under the third column's Subtotal? And another "Grand Subtotal" under the second column's Subtotal on page three? Basically right now I have the coins, Left column equipment, middle column equipment, and right column equipment unchecked from the Total Weight and manually add together the subtotals from the three columns and manually add the currency weight together to see what the capacity is at in the Bag of Holding. It would just be a small quality of life improvement if some of that work was done automatically, that's all. At the end of the day, it only takes a glance at the subtotals to get an idea, but as I said, it would just be a small QoL improvement. Thanks for hearing me out!

morepurplemorebetter

I think that is a lot of changes to the sheet for a small improvement ;) Maybe what you can already use now is the location column. That way you can indicate what's in the bag of holding (with "BH" or some similar abbreviation) and get that total added up. You can toggle the visibility of the location column with the "Add Equipment" button (and yes, that is a bit confusing name for the button).

Just wanted to say that myself and my group loves your sheet -- can't wait until v13.

Charlie Dover

It would be really cool if you implement well made homebrew races and classes, such as blood hunter, or Mark Hulmes classes.

Import scripts for a couple of materials are available through my GitHub. Note that if you become a Sorcerer-tier or higher subscriber, you can ask me to make additional scripts every month! There is also a community of people making scripts for the character sheets over at the /r/mpmb subreddit. Their you can find overview tables with all additional materials made by myself and the community. Check it out at <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/mpmb" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.reddit.com/r/mpmb</a>

Awesome. Amazing work you're doing, Me and my NPC's really appreciate it.

Has anyone else brought up that Wood Elf is not showing Racial Abilities in v12.999?

Michael Clark

You can separate where the items are located in the options. I have my items separated by equipped, bag of holding, and on my belt. Not at my computer right now, otherwise I would explain each step. It works well for me.

Level 3 Bard (College of Whispers) is Showing 3 Spell Slots of Level 1, 2 Spell Slots of level 2, There should be 4 spell slots of level 1.

Alex Dunker

I created a new blank sheet and the spell slots seem to be fine. But on the existing character sheet that leveled up it wasn't expanding the spell slots

morepurplemorebetter

Do you remember how you changed the level that caused the sheet to not update the Spell Slots? I'm very interested because then I might discover what caused it and fix it.

Alex Dunker

I wonder if there was some sort of glitch because what happened was she tried to level up, but realised she didn't have the 12.999 sheet, so she may have cancelled out of the level-up process, then there may have been something wonky happen when she was halfway through that process, and imported the sheet to 12.999. I just took a fresh sheet, and leveled up to level 3, and it did it correctly, so I'm going to go ahead and say it was probably user error, but might want to see if it happens to a sheet that gets imported to 12.999 from 12.998

Johnny On

I know this sounds idiotic but instead of the sheet... can you put a youtube video up about how to transfer info from a prior version to a new version

morepurplemorebetter

I personally detest video guides, so I'm sorry, but I'm not making any. Getting your character over into a new sheet is as simple as this: 1) Open the new version of MPMB's Character Record Sheet with Adobe Acrobat (make sure no other PDFs are open). 2) Open the bookmarks sections and click the bookmark "Import/Export". 3) You now see the import menu, select “Import a character directly from another MPMB’s Character Sheet PDF” 4) This opens the import dialog. Follow the instructions of the dialog. Probably see the one with two options, use option 2 and click "Click here to Open the Console" and follow the instructions in the console.

In adventurers league there is a new background called heretic in the ruins of mezro module. Could you add that background?

morepurplemorebetter

Is that an official WotC publication? I don't play AL so I'm not always up to date with anything that is released for that. If it is an official WotC publication, or Unearthed Arcana, I will include it. If it is something made by third-party publishers, then I will leave it up to the community to make it (unless it is requested by a Sorcerer-tier patron of course).

I don't see a way to set Path of the Kensai weapons in the either the regular sheet or the Redesign. Am I missing something here?

morepurplemorebetter

Apologies for the late response, I was out of the country for a conference the whole last week. In order for the sheet to treat a weapon as a Kensei weapon, you will have to add the word "Kensei" to the name of the weapon. The explanation for this is a bit hidden. If you press one of the buttons in the attack section and select the bottom menu item, you can read the things that effect the calculations of attacks because of class, feat, or race.
