Everything is Anime! Chapter 99: Campione's reaction (Patreon)

That solution was simple enough:
Should the worst come to pass—if the Seventh God-Slayer really traveled to Japan, tore down Palace, and found a way to unseal the Monkey God Lord—then the powerless locals could only notify that Eastern Campione, Luo Hao.
She was one of the few Campiones aware that the Monkey God Lord was sealed away. Being from the same land, she was already outraged that her country’s deity had been imprisoned by Japan.
She’d tried on multiple occasions to barge into the Palace and shatter the seal—to slay that divine monkey—though she’d so far left empty-handed. The “Mawen” seal wasn’t something easily broken. Eventually, her intrusions grew fewer and fewer, and she hasn’t shown up in nearly a century.
But if Luo Hao learned that another Campione intended to target the Monkey God Lord, her pride would demand she rise again and confront this “Seventh God-Slayer.” There would be a grand spectacle—“using one tiger to chase away another wolf,” as they say.
Of course, that was the most desperate contingency plan. If two God-Slayers clashed, Japan would still suffer.
…
Obviously, the magic associations weren’t the only ones privy to the news. Other Campiones, the “kings” of the occult world, received word of Hikaru’s exploits by their own means as well.
In the Balkan Peninsula, Marquis Voban’s eerie green eyes glowed as he muttered,
“Another boy in this era…someone who managed to slay four Heretic Gods within a single day? Intriguing. But why wasn’t I notified about the gods’ appearance on Sardinia?!”
Somewhere in a snow-capped Thai mountain, a bewitching black-haired girl in ornate attire listened to her disciple’s report with apparent indifference—showing little reaction.
In Britain’s Royal Library, the Black Prince Alec frowned.
“That newcomer’s growth is absurd. Word is, he supposedly fought Heretic Gods alone even before his first god-slaying?”
He dismissed that as false intel. Mere mortals aren’t even qualified to stand on the same level as a Heretic God. Even an apex martial-arts master like Luo Hao, before becoming a Campione, would be reduced to “three-legged cat tricks” in the face of a true deity.
Sure, personal power matters, but as some scientist once said: “Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” And the next line—rarely remembered—is that the “inspiration” is far more crucial than the “perspiration.” In other words, luck surpasses brute effort for a Campione’s success. So Alec simply assumed the Seventh had been hyped beyond reality.
The Underworld King John Pluto Smith, who guarded the West Coast, said nothing.
The fairy-cavern queen Aisha was nowhere to be found.
But off in an African rainforest, the Sword King Salvatore Doni—who was searching for ancient ruins, hoping for a “lucky break” that would lead him to a Heretic God—immediately dropped what he was doing upon receiving the intel. Turning to his assistant Anderson, he ordered him to book the next flight to Italy:
“I can’t wait to meet this new fellow Campione!”
Anderson sighed wearily; he knew there was no stopping Doni. Once the Sword King had a goal, he wouldn’t rest until he’d achieved it.
Four years earlier, Doni had singlehandedly sabotaged the elaborate summoning ritual Marquis Voban spent a fortune on. Now that rumors painted the Seventh God-Slayer as near godlike, Doni had no intention of missing a chance to challenge him.
…
While all these hidden currents stirred across the world, Hikaru awoke quietly in his room. Earthly turmoil didn’t concern him. After resting for several hours, he felt fully restored.
Est was sprawled across his chest, her silver hair like a blanket over them both.
Seeing her delicate limbs and black stockings, no one could’ve guessed this sweet-looking girl’s true form was the highest-grade Demon-Slaying Holy Sword. Yet she had more than proved her worth in battle—without her, Hikaru might have needed more time and effort to cut a god’s body.
He could also sense obvious changes in himself. Beyond gaining four new Authorities, his magical power had grown significantly. If a Campione’s typical “mana capacity” was rated at ten, his now felt like fifteen or twenty.
Other Campiones couldn’t boost their energy so fast. Many believed that once you become a Campione, you can’t increase your mana anymore—but that was a misconception. Certainly, the act of god-slaying itself won’t up your mana; it only grants new Authorities.
However, you can still train day to day to raise your reserves. The trouble is, for most Campiones, any marginal increase is like a drop in the ocean—too insignificant to matter.
Hikaru, however, was different. Thanks to his “Heaven Rewards Diligence” trait, every time he expended magical power in battle, it would surely grow afterward. Eventually, he’d outstrip the rest of the Campiones by a wide margin.
Because Est was basically linked to Hikaru, she also stirred as he woke. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she sat up on his chest. “Good morning, Hikaru.” As a sword’s spirit, her behavior was almost indistinguishable from a normal person. And now that Hikaru was stronger, Est could maintain human form far longer.
“—mmph.”
After a yawn and a quick stretch, Est bent down and planted a gentle kiss on his lips. Every morning, she gave him this “good-morning kiss” to express her devotion.
“Time to get up,” Hikaru said with a soft laugh. “We’re heading somewhere else next.”
He wasn’t sure how the flow of time compared between this world and his original DXD world, so he didn’t plan to linger here too long—if the villains back home made their move and he was stuck here, he’d be returning too late to prevent anything.

I'm tired of translating this fanfic. If I'm not enjoying it, I might just drop it. I might translate one more for chapter 100 tomorrow as a finale—before deciding whether to drop it or continue.
