Steve Chapter 903: The Really Hungry Alucard... (Patreon)
Content
After Anderson had unleashed the Holy Fire—
Alucard was set ablaze, along with his entire River of the Dead.
That vast, corpse-filled sea of rot began to churn and boil under the heat. Clouds of yellow-green gas erupted from below, casting an eerie terror over the scene.
See, for all its repulsiveness, that thick, slimy filth was packed with organic matter.
And after undergoing anaerobic decomposition, it started producing something very familiar—something natural, pure, and incredibly volatile:
Biogas.
Yep. That disgusting cesspool? It was like a holy garden for Nurgle the Plague Father, where trillions of microbes thrived in joy and ecstasy.
They feasted, multiplied, and offered up their sacred gift: methane and hydrogen sulfide.
And now, Heaven’s fire had descended upon it.
The result?
An explosion.
A chain reaction of catastrophic detonations tore through the city.
Limbs of the undead, waves of filth, and endless debris were launched skyward. The horror couldn’t be captured in words—perhaps only a young Hidetaka Miyazaki, or a certain Chinese painter surnamed Sun, could do justice to this grotesque masterpiece: a divine catastrophe from the Plague Father himself.
“Damn it all!!!”
Integra stood frozen, eyes wide at the nightmare unfolding before her. Her face twisted with rage, confusion, and horror as she grabbed Fang Mo by the collar.
“Wang Jiangchen!! Do you have any idea what you’ve done?!”
“What? I just moved the Seine River from France to London,” Fang Mo said, grinning. “Actually, I think the next Olympics should be held here. Imagine the triathlon in this setting—”
“Then clean it up!!” Integra shouted. “You can grant wishes, can’t you?! Then fix this!!”
“Why would I clean it up?” Fang Mo shrugged. “I’m still waiting for Macron to come swim in it. Worst case, you could host the Winter Games instead—check out the terrain I’ve laid out for you.”
“Enough! You’re cleaning it—now!” Integra snapped. “Even if Alucard wants to die, I’ll never let him die in a place like this!!”
“Die here? What’s wrong wi—”
“Seras!!” Integra cut him off.
“Yes, ma’am!” Seras snapped to attention.
“You’re Alucard’s fledgling—a vampire born of him,” Integra declared. “And I gave him the order to fight with everything he has. If you’re his servant, then your power is his too. Go! Help your master! Alucard is in trouble, and only you can save him!”
“Understood!” Seras responded immediately, charging toward the battlefield.
The ground was still coated in filth, but this time, Seras didn’t hesitate. She gave it everything she had.
Even before she arrived—
Hydra attacked.
“Get your hands off my master!!”
A massive serpent head crashed down from above, clamping onto Anderson and yanking him into the air. Roots and vines tore apart with sickening snaps.
Another head lunged in, biting down on the bayonet still lodged in Alucard’s skull. Holy fire surged up the blade, but Hydra barely flinched. The sword was ripped free—and Alucard’s eyes snapped open.
“Seras?”
He blinked. “Wait... what the hell did you eat?!”
“Master, you’re okay!” Seras sighed in relief. “I… I’m not sure. Uncle Yao fed me something. Said it was a ‘Hydra’.”
“The Greek myth one?” Alucard frowned. “Hmph. That guy really has everything...”
BAM!
Suddenly, one of Hydra’s heads recoiled in pain and hurled Anderson back to the ground.
“Your opponent is ME!”
Seras shouted, stepping forward. “I’m my master’s servant! His strength is mine! Let me be the one to—”
“That’s enough, Seras.”
A large hand gently landed on her head, ruffling her hair like a father would to his daughter.
“Huh?” Seras blinked in surprise.
“Look at that, Alucard’s still a bastard,” Fang Mo muttered from the sidelines. “Wipes his dirty gloves on her hair…”
“Will you shut your damn mouth?” Integra growled, face dark. “If you can’t stop talking, eat something off the ground instead.”
“Tch.” Fang Mo clicked his tongue but backed off.
Meanwhile, Alucard’s aura surged as he stared across at the thorn-covered monster.
“Anderson... You could’ve beaten me,” he said softly. “If this were back then—523 years ago… In that twilight battlefield, I might’ve offered you my heart willingly.”
“But now... it’s too late.”
His tone turned regretful.
“You can’t beat me anymore. Because only a human can defeat a monster. And you’re not human anymore.”
Then Alucard tilted his head back and let out a primal, haunting scream—part fury, part anguish.
He charged.
His coat and weapons disintegrated mid-run. All that remained was a black straitjacket and wild, unkempt hair.
He looked like a rabid beast let loose.
“...!”
Anderson raised a hand, launching thorny tendrils.
But Alucard didn’t care.
He tore through them, shredding, regenerating, ignoring the pain.
He lunged.
Fingers curled into claws, he struck at Anderson’s chest.
Still dazed from Hydra’s earlier strike, Anderson was a moment too slow.
Squelch.
Alucard’s hand punched through his chest.
He pulled out what used to be a heart—but now looked more like a cancerous root ball, writhing with thorns trying to dig into anything they touched.
“Die.”
Without hesitation, Alucard crushed it.
The Nail of Helena dropped to the ground.
And Anderson’s body began to fall apart.
Like rotten wood chewed through by worms, his flesh caved in. His body split in two.
No blood. Just ash and decay.
His remains began to crumble into dust.
“You…”
Alucard stared at Anderson’s disintegrating form—not with triumph, but with deep sorrow.
“You were me…” he whispered.
“I was just like you… a monster. We… we were the same.”
He collapsed to his knees.
“We’re… all monsters…”
“Then demons shouldn’t cry.”
From the crumbling ash, Anderson’s voice emerged.
Only half his face remained. But something—some divine energy—kept him alive for one last breath.
“You became a demon because you didn’t want to cry anymore… didn’t you?”
“When humans run out of tears… they become monsters.”
“And stay that way until they die.”
“Anderson?”
Alucard staggered forward, reaching out.
“So laugh, monster.”
Anderson smiled faintly.
“Laugh like you always do. Don’t show a face that doesn’t belong to a monster.”
“I’m leaving now.”
“But how long will you keep on living?”
His tone turned strangely gentle. Pitying.
“You pitiful king of monsters… when will you finally be allowed to stop existing?”
“Hopefully not too long…” Alucard sighed. Then, as if remembering something, his face twisted into a manic grin.
“My eternal rival… I’ll see you in Hell.”
“Yeah?” Anderson murmured, closing his eyes.
“Then I’ll be going first… Amen.”
A soft wind blew.
Moments later, he was gone.
“Did… did Anderson die?” Seras whispered, stunned. “Master, does that mean we—”
“Wait.”
Alucard held out a hand to stop her.
He looked up.
“There’s still another enemy.”
“Another…?”
Seras blinked and followed his gaze—
Toward a familiar tower in the distance.
Where Integra and Fang Mo stood.
“Wait, you don’t mean—Uncle Yao?!”
“Him?” Alucard blinked. Then his eyes lit up. “Oh? Actually... that doesn’t sound bad.”
“What?!”
Before they could say more—
A figure flew in from afar.
“ALUCARD!!!”
It was Walter.
He’d returned.
Despite everything, despite the filth, he had come back. Because deep down, he knew what this day truly was:
The final confrontation.
“Well, look who’s back,” Alucard laughed. “Decided to stop running?”
“Shut up!” Walter barked. “I just refuse to cooperate with anyone else. Since Anderson failed, I’ll be the one to finish you!”
“Heh. Big words for someone scared of getting dirty.”
Alucard grinned. “Look around you—you’re terrified of even touching the filth. And you think you can beat me?”
“He’s right, you know!” Fang Mo added helpfully. “You can’t even touch your beloved’s—”
“SHUT UP!” Integra yanked him back.
Walter’s jaw tightened.
“See?” Alucard smirked. “You’ve already lost your composure.”
He raised both hands.
“Unfortunately, I’m out of patience.”
“What are you—”
“What am I doing?” Alucard began to laugh—a twisted, haunting sound.
“I’m going to show you just how filthy and low a monster can truly be!”
With a sweeping motion—
London quaked again.
Geysers of blood erupted from the corrupted earth, all rushing toward Alucard.
And he absorbed them all.
“What… what IS this?!”
Walter stood frozen, horrified.
“Alucard… what are you doing?!”
