It's fifteen years after the events of the previous film. Napoleon Solo has developed a James Bond inferiority complex (and 500 liver spots) and is playing mid-stakes poker games at 2pm on a weekday. Ilya Kuryakin looks absolutely identical and has opened up a fashion brand catering for stacked 10/10 transgender baddies. The last of the old-school Gay-coded villains laments the modern age.

Inventorying fieldfares and redwings in a french museum and being startled hearing "Turdus" on KJB ... Coincidence?

BarFly

I would join/listen to Dev's podcast for people who only get about 13% of classics references.

Noblese Oblahaj

Tuca and Bertie deserved better. Best show

"Give me immortality or give me death!" - Firesign Theatre.

Tall Jeff

So sad to see Uncle off before we all go and get cancelled. A really enjoyable podcast arc!

Forever Bulking

Question for Alice! Have you played the HOI IV mod Equestria at War? It may make the pony movie a little easier.

Meekle Togas

Anthony Zerbe, also known as the Starfleet (B)admiral who gets cosmetic surgeried to death in one of the Next Generation movies.

Meonlights

I always celebrate extra hard when we get a transmasc joke out of a movie lmao.

Christopher Ingamells

I know KJB's no TV rule but I would love for them to do a bonus episode on Hustle (BBC), if only for a much older Robert Vaughn! "The Henderson challenge" feels like it has a LOT to say about masculinity especially

Antti Helin

I probably missed it being mentioned on the pod, but Patrick Mcnee was the guy who had to pretend to be Bond's valet in AVTAK.

Ben Schwabe

I watched "Bullet Train" last night with my dad and now I really want a KJB/WTYP crossover episode on "Bullet Train". I'm pretty sure all the hosts would be very annoyed it.

Róisín

Someone reminded me of the existence of Planes, and fuck if I don't want to hear you folx lose your minds dissecting that mindfuck of amovie

Róisín

I know but Planes has the main character literally get bottom surgery to become more of a racer and has the oddly dark back story of the mentor who lead a squardon of new recruits over guadalcanal and they all got killed apart from him, and he then had PTSD so bad he couldn't fly again until the finale.

Róisín

It's just a whole lot to unpack if you even start to try thinking about it

Look upon my works (these legs)

George Lazenby cameo as James Bond: sad, trying too hard George Lazenby cameo as George Lazenby, delusional actor: outstanding, brilliant, 10/10. (What are the chances this wasn't scripted and Lazenby just *entered* the movie on his own, but the director kept the cameras rolling?)

Cate Kneale

Then KJB should also do a Sapphire and Steel bonus episode for an Ilya as an alien treat.

Visphendant

bringing in snacks for the swimming pool lair's kitchenette must fucking suck

Adria Reed

You mentioned that Napoleon is “not a chaser”. There’s a scene in one of the old Man From UNCLE episodes where the THRUSH guy (played by Carroll O’Connor) says “are you a chaser?” And Napoleon sheepishly says “…Mr Brach!”

Regarding the sensuous pilots, my father once had a co worker who, prior to her career as a fisheries biologist, was a translator for the US Airforce stationed in Alaska to listen in on Russian fighter pilots. According to her, the most common line she overheard, when someone was flying too close for comfort, was "Get your dick out of my ass!"
