Peter Paul Rubens' Muse

thank you team kjb for immediately fixing my terrible morning with this upload <3 also grats on the name november

Edwin Bent

Nailing a shark to a door on Martin Luther King day is something I wish would become a real thing à la the Dia de los Muertos parade.

Robo Kop

November Kelly does sound badass

DFA

Shamefully excited at the first November podcast usage.

Alex

I’m glad they finally got rid of Alice, that woman was starting to get on my nerves. November Kelly on the other hand, sounds cool and I love her already.

Mike Craft

I am obligated to point out that "shirtless Nazi whipfight circus" can be sung to the tune of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

BarFly

I was watching some old Cousteau films and one of them included a scene of all the divers lounging around on a jetty, smoking and cat-calling a French woman in a tiny swimsuit - possibly the most 1960s French thing I've ever seen.

ZombieDwarf

"Imagine if he'd been wrong." That's the first Johnny English movie you're thinking of, November.

Bossbear

If only they knew about fish man island ........

Raymond Price

7:50 Not to mention You Only Live Twice, where Dr Kananga's supposed decolonial advocacy was a cover for his drug empire.

Jazz Fox-Canning

the exploration of "20 sharks a day" broke me in much the way OSS 177 Cairo did by playing "office in a chicken warehouse" straight with the lights gag. Spectre 11 rant-level gag, great work also with 20 minutes left, I hope Lasso Henchman receives every possible award

Newt Farías

This episode made me laugh so hard I cried multiple times god jesus fucking christ

Mezzo

The idea of only being Alice on the paid feed is hilarious to me 🤣 November sounds like such I cool spy name

Knathaniel C

November, read the hadith my sister, cats are the perfect household pet send by Allah (SwT)

Trojan Zebra

Really, really clean drop of Devon saying "First of all, I am a Nazi"

Azerty

as an american living in france, the Pamela drop startled me so bad, bc i KNOW two other americans who speak like that (not me thank god. i hope)

Ros

Had to pause to cackle at The Lives of Others being referred to as 'pure parasociality'

P.A.L.

"Per my last shark" fucking killed me Can't wait for the Kill James Bond highlight to hit this episode

Alexander Jonsson

That nazi line around 50 minutes in... made me think up tenirf, 'trans exc nazi inc rad feminist' bit of an oxymoron though cause most terf are just female nazis, that or they're just ripping off nazis, fyi, I thought terf was just the PC term for female nazi, like 'alt-right', for a while when I first heard the term and the ideology.

Alexander Jonsson

Also, can I get confirmation on the name change for Mrs Caldwell-Kelly, I'm ASD and honestly can't tell if that was a bit, or not, especially since she is credited under "Alice" for this episode.

s0

Yeah she announced it more clearly on Trashfuture and stuff. It’s legit.

Sam Skipsey

I like to believe that the villain just changes their mind a lot and so needs to send multiple sharks to correct themselves each day.

Sam Skipsey

(Also, the cat equivalent of kennels are catteries, if it genuinely matters to anyone.)

Andrew Dunn

Relistened to the first q&a and it was the first mention of the spray bottle, the first mention of the uncle chop, and the first mention of the name "November Kelly"

Taki Kuroi

I assumed that at this point, "Alice" was a character being played by November on various podcasts.

Wuppdich

Hamburg Hagenbeck (the zoo) has seven sharks. That's after they've added an huge aquarium a few years ago. Before that they had like maybe two.

Lukeaqueer

“Four guys & a cowboy” - otherwise known as a Dracula Killing Posse.

Meekle Togas

Don't worry about the droopy silencer, it happens to every agent sometime. Let's just relax and you can try and assassinate me again later.

Noblese Oblahaj

I am honestly surprised a classical lit ref didn't get more love.

mira_drgn

fully on abi's side here about the sharks. i'd like to propose that real-life animal cruelty should qualify a film for an immediate 7 U score, because if a film shows you an animal that's been abused or killed in the production of that film, it is showing you the results of real actual violence and saying you should find that acceptable as a cost for simply making a piece of entertainment. it's not exactly unprecedented either, The Man From Hong Kong maxed out its C score for the real-life cultural offense of the dudes streaking on Ularu, and that wasn't even on-screen

just some jal

the american french reminds me of revolver ocelot saying "Les Enfants Terribles" in the worst possible fashion

-Kris-

"I'm not actually a Nazi, I work for the CIA." It's 1965, you can be both

-Kris-

There's something oddly comforting about the fact that the timeline for sharks starts before trees, Saturn's rings, and the star Polaris, and could very well last until after some of those

Alva Sol

if I had a euro for every time the city of hamburg was connected to derailing a movie... I would have 2 euros

ZombieDwarf

Well, Le Tigre *does* like fresh blood...

Fern

This episode has started a joke with my best friend in which we sew encoded letters to a Blahaj and drop it at each other’s front door
