The title says it all, but at this point, maybe some of it is my fault to be completely honest. The year so far has been utter chaos behind the scenes and while I like to think it doesn't show on screen, I get the feeling it's finally starting to catch up with me. As you may have noticed, there is no video this week. I didn't have an upload today, nor do I have anything for later in the week either.

So allow me to explain!

The N. Sane Trilogy) Some of you may remember back in April, I switched who my channel was partnered with. While the move has certainly been beneficial for the channel, one of the "perks" I guess doesn't seem to have followed through. Screenwave has a solid partnership with a lot of brands to help provide YouTubers with products for review and make content on (I'm sure you can see where this is going). One of the things I was personally in line for was an early copy of the new Crash game so that I could make a video on it but unfortunately, despite Activision being contacted and my name being high on the list, nothing has come back yet. Now this doesn't just effect me, but everyone else on that list!

NOTE: I can't say for certain but based on what I've been told by my rep, they've just not approved the list of YouTubers at this stage.

Of course, not to say I still won't get it a few days early but it's not looking good as the game is out in 2 days in Australia. It's gonna sound pretty low on my part, but that really did annoy me as this game is serious business for the channel this year, so a day one video would have made it even bigger. As well as the fact, that it would have been a cool moment for myself to look at how far things have come. Not to mention, some people manage to scam themselves early copies WELL before they're supposed too and that really put me in a foul mood, which didn't help.

So to conclude this part of the week, before I started working on Perfect Dark, I made the assumption that I'd have access to the game maybe a week early. So I structured the month around that, leaving a free week to work on it... BUT I DIDN'T GET IT. Because of that, unfortunately no day one video or anything like that which sucks but what can you do? However, because I assumed there wouldn't be much time before that video after e3, for anything else, I covered a shorter series, covered e3 (which was far from the original plans for that) and took last week off to rest myself for the months ahead, meaning I didn't get a whole lot done. Sorry!

BUT, the Week Wasn't All Bad!) While it was a shit week mentally and I didn't get too much done, I was able to write a Top 10 script that I'm in the process of editing ready for next week (instead of the planned N. Sane Review). The topic is Top 10 Lazy Game Development Tropes which was an idea that spawned on stream playing Jak and Daxter: Precursor Legacy, so most of the spots were suggested by the audience! I'm fairly happy with it so far and keen to get it done. Along with that, I was able to play through some games for the secret project I've been working on, to be uploaded AFTER the N. Sane Trilogy video. If I don't get Crash even a day early this week, I'll hopefully have plenty of time to get the editing solid on the Top 10 and a script started (or even finished) for this other project. I know it's gonna be good, the previous one is still one of my favourite videos of all time! ;)

So yeah, I am truly sorry for not having any content this week. Really shitty planning on my part, for the past 6 weeks or so. At this point, as excited as I am for a new Crash experience, I'm more looking forward for it to be behind me so that I can get into some of my new, fresh plans for videos, as well as finally getting to reveal some cool stuff I've been working on and developing ideas for all year! That was a lot to read but I hope it was worth something to you, thanks for being cool and I promise a video next week! Have a great fucking day, cheers!

You should make a Square Eyed Shortie talking about the bullshit that has happened. It’s funny with ARMS for the Switch, Nintendo did a Test Fire where certain timeslots for an hour allowed you to play the Party Mode online. The idea was for Nintendo to test the servers, but for me it helped make me decide if I like playing the game and if I wanted to buy a copy when it got released. It was basically like playing a demo. I was going to buy ARMS anyway, but the Test Fire helped me confirm 100%. No need for YouTube reviews to send… oh wait, I got like 8 different reviews in My Subscription Box who had reviewed the full game. What a waste as I didn’t watch a single one (nothing against them, but damn, review over-load). The N Sane Trilogy is a little different as the only way I got to try the demo was by going to a Game store (WHY CAN’T I DOWNLOAD THE DEMO SO I CAN PLAY AT HOME?). Thanks Sony, smart planning there. I do miss the days where YouTube didn’t exists as it was more difficult to upload videos / live streams! Hurray for technology! I’m more upset that YouTube itself keeps recommending all the N Sane Trilogy videos as this makes it very hard to not watch (I could not use YouTube, but that’s easier said than done). What’s really irritating is people have uploaded a full play-through of the game and done live-streams (I was recommend 4 of these). Thanks assholes, the idea is to review the game, not be a massive dick-weed and stream the game. Talk about rubbing it in people’s faces and with YouTube / Activation doing nothing about this, well screw them. What a world we live in. Sorry you didn’t get an early copy of N Sane Trilogy to review as yours would have been one of the better ones out there. Look on the bright side, it doesn’t matter if this review is late as you can still make it really good. Looking forward to the n sane review! Keep up the good work and have a great fucking day!

Yeah it is a shame, it's really killed my hype for it since e3. To be clear, the people who have already spoiled the entire game got the copies from stores early. So it's the stores fault for handing them out early which is an extra kick in the balls. But yeah, the crappy coverage will be out of the way by the time the video is up so that's a plus.

If anything, I'm DYING to try the game for myself so I can finally get a feel for the controls which is definitely the most important part of game, I'm curious to see how you find them as well. Guess we'll both have to wait to find out!

SquareEyedJak

As far as I know, I'll be getting the game when I wake up tomorrow. Only a day early in my case but still early I guess, I am keen to finally try it though. Just not as keen to make the video itself I guess.

Oh it's fine. I am really mad becouse of the failed Crash review. Not on you though, don't worry. But still I had a great time on the last stream and I can't wait to make that montage you asked for. Also talkin bout the montage. It should be here withing a week. Not that I'm very busy or anything but for some reason my crap notebook fails to add in audio into the edited parts. But I'm getting a new beast very soon so I can't wait to decimate the stream recording there :3

I'm really looking forward to your N. Sane trilogy review because honestly, from what I've seen so far it just looks so... eh. I don't know, nothing about it has made me feel particularly eager to play it. Not pumped about it all personally, but I suppose we'll see.

SquareEyedJak

Well I was lucky enough to get a review code in the end so I have played it. I'll just say that it looks a lot worse online for sure, not a solid representation of the game unfortunately. But the game itself is a different story! :)
