HEY GUYS! How is everything going? Feels like it's been such a long time that's gone so fast, it really only feels like a few weeks...

What's Up?) I've been enjoying my break, playing some games. I finally got to Uncharted 4 which was super awesome, spent some time in Planet Coaster and finally 100%ed Bully: Scholarship Edition (worst 100% ever). Also finally got to Telltale's Walking Dead: Season 3 which was fucking sweet! Didn't get to the beach unfortunately as despite the scathing heat this Summer, it's just been far too windy for extended stay meaning that I had my first Christmas at home... ever! Feels strange but ah well, nothing like the feeling of being stuck in 2017 because I never got to hit the reset button but oh well, onto a New Year!

Plans for January) Right now, I am still on break for another week. Some people may feel that is a seriously long break but that's normal for my family. We always take long breaks and I'll actually have visiting relatives here soon so, it's not like I can get a lot of work done anyway. So long story short: the content is going to be minimal this month (as it normally is). For starters, the Podcast may drop a little later into the month as it normally would but that's going to be the first thing I edit all year so hopefully, you'll have it within a week or so! As for actual content for the channel, I'll be starting the year with a review in a few weeks time that I think you'll all enjoy, followed with the runner up for the Top 10 poll held last year: Top 10 Enemies with NO CHILL!

So that's the haps so far this year. I've got A LOT of plans for videos, a lot of which will require me getting off my ass and getting fucking started last week but shit, it should be a solid year for content.

An official Update) In regards to what I said in my final blog of 2017, I am still hoping to do an update video of some description once uploads are underway again, just to address where the channel is going and whatnot. I've changed how I want to go about that as well so keep an eye out in February for some specifics on everything!

Other News) Currently, I'm waiting on some purchases to arrive that may help improve the general quality of game capture in the future. For one, when I got my new PC back in July, Windows 10's automatic HDCP blocked and broke my backassed way of capturing with ease, meaning I had to use OBS for anything that doesn't output HDMI. That was fine but my setup is done in a way that means I don't have to constantly go over to the computer, risk pressing 'Start Streaming' instead of 'Start Recording' as well as a few minor issues that method offers. I'm looking into Component Output for the PS2 (and PS1 played on PS2) as an improvement but that still leaves EVERYTHING ELSE that's retro, with those god awful fucking composite cables.

I've been researching into RGB Scart for a while now and just today, I've purchased some "tester" cables to see if I can get a full, working circuit into my setup without spending $500AUD on a fucking Frameister like a knob for fuck sake. If I can get all that working, then I'll be integrating SCART > HDMI into the setup. I'm not worried about up-scaling as much as I am just getting the signal to a capture device and having it actually work for once (I've been struggling with this for years now). If it works, then the Mega Drive/Genesis, SNES and PS1 will be hooked up for the best native output. I'm not big on console mods but I'm considering either and RGB mod for the N64 or going a step further for the more expensive HDMI mod. Once I get things sorted, I'd like to do videos on all this stuff of course but that's been my little pet project to start the year, doing research and all that. This will be ongoing into the year working with quality, finalizing the setup and working with the NES and other systems also.

In Closing...) I'm looking forward to getting back into the production cycle. Like I said previously, I've got a lot of things I want to cover this year despite really not having the time for all of it, but we'll see how it all goes. For now, i'm just going to get on with collecting costumes, props and hunting for locations and leave you with it!
