Looking Forward to 2020 (Blog) (Patreon)

Hey, hope everyone is doing fine this week! I've got just some general updates of the status of all these projects in the works, but I want to talk about some of things I'm hoping to do differently next year. So let's get into it!
----------------------------------------------
6-Parter Progress) So we're currently 1 week into the 2 weeks void period where I'm not able to film anything. As far as post production goes however, Episodes One and Two are FINISHED! Episode Three is 90% finished and should be totally done by the end of Wednesday! So that's pretty major, I must say. Right now, I'm not sure if I'll get a start editing the first half of Episode Four that's already filmed, or spend the time getting Hawktober under control. But right now, this series is finally... finally... FINALLY set for release! This is how that is going to look:
- July 30th - Teaser Trailer
- August 6th - Episode One
- August 13th - Episode Two, Game Review One
- August 20th - Episode Three, Game Review Two
- August 27th - Episode Four, Game Review Three
As you can see from that, it's going to be a stacked month review wise which will be nice. But you can also see that the layout of this series review is a little unconventional, with a non-review episode, but an episode I'm really proud of nonetheless! That schedule, while always subject to change, is pretty set in stone at this point, simply because any later and we'll run into a serious problem when it comes to Hawktober!
Tony Hawktober) Speaking of... Tony Hawktober 2019 is officially behind schedule ahaha so that's great. Not by a whole lot but obviously, the overflow into this two week period from the previously mentioned project, is cutting into Hawktober prep time. 13/17 games have been completed thankfully, so that's a lot of scripts I plan to start working on, once editing of the other project is under control. Still a lot of pre-production work to get done on this, however, I'm remaining optimistic. Assuming I can get the rest of the 6-Parter sorted within the first half of August, I'll have six weeks to shoot and edit Hawktober, which is the same general amount of time I've had the last couple years. It'll be down to the wire but it can be done!
Square Eyed Jak 2020 Plans) Alright let me shed some light on a new concept I've been developing for content flow on the channel. For starters as a result of how things have played out this year, NO MORE GRAND PLANS! I want to get back to working on projects on the fly, as they interest me. I also want to try and get back to a point where series reviews, don't need to have big crazy grand stories along with them. I STILL WANT TO MAKE THAT CONTENT so they're not going anywhere... but it needs toning down just a tad. And again, no grand upload scheme. I'll just work on them as I can and upload them when they're ready.
But like I mentioned, I'd like to get back to a point where series reviews DON'T need all this crazy shit. Look at the Call of Duty: Finest Hour review for example: sure that had me dressed up, doing some crazy shit in relation to the game. But it was self contained, simple by my standards and was able to be filmed in a day. I want more of that. These projects that take weeks, across months to get filmed are just exhausting. So in short, it'll help get videos out more consistently number one, but it might also mean slightly shorter videos which will help with video quantity. I want to hit a lot of different series I want to review, across different consoles. And I also want to tackle more broad topics.
Finally as far as a schedule goes. If I'm able to get videos done quicker. Let's say I have 5 games in a series I want to review in a row. Maybe they're games that don't need super in-depth videos... well, what if I just worked on them unannounced and then dropped all of them in a week special format like Hawktober, just without all of the fanfare? If I can pull that off, it'll help videos to generally perform better, it'll make those uploads feel a little more special like a surprise. And in the event I don't have them all done in time for that, nobody knows. So I can just start uploading them normally each week and actually GAIN TIME, by having a bunch of videos ready to go.
At this stage, it's just a concept. But I feel like it'll be more flexible for me to get things done, work on projects I'm in the mood for and want to work on. As well as hopefully allowing for a better flow of content onto the channel. And with trying to do more week specials, if something important comes up that's going to take all my time away, I have a bunch of videos ready for that to upload weekly until I can get back on my feet.
----------------------------------------------
Closing Thoughts) So that's where we're at right now!
TL;DR
- 6-Parter is finally on the way, trailer next week
- Hawktober is almost ready for pre-production
- 2020 shake up on how the channel is going to operate to maximize quality, consistency and my own sanity
