August 2020 Plans (Blog) (Patreon)

G'day people, serious question: how in the fuck is August upon us? I FUCKING HATE IT!
LAST CHANCE TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS/TOPICS for the August Patreon Podcast! So please leave them below, I will be recording the episode sometime within the next week.

Hawktober Merch Voting) Firstly thank you for being active and voting in the poll to decide on the merch this year! The very clear winner was the design you see here:
With a staggering 30% of all the votes, I did consider taking the most popular options into a public vote but given I had to rush my test order so that things will arrive in time, I'm fairly confident this was the best option to go with. Very happy with the back element, can't wait to see them in person. Again, cheers for contributing to the decision! 🤙
Current Happenings) Of course, last week the channel was lucky enough to get selected to showcase some of the upcoming Crash game. Honestly guys... I'm still fucking blown away by that opportunity and it's something that now should hopefully continue. It's massive! But not only was it a super cool thing, I feel like it may have greatly helped me with putting certain things with my life into perspective which is something I really need this year. While I haven't been SUPER busy lately, there has been a notable spark in motivation to just get in, enjoy working on stuff and getting things done. Certain things I've been putting off I've finally had the chance to take a look at, including the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger documentary.
Earlier today, I actually sat down with my Uncle who played the villain in the story of those episodes and discussed some things, to be used in the doco. No idea when that's going to be completed, making the thing is going to bring back a lot of bad times for me on both a professional and personal level BUT like I said, I've had my perspective shift recently to where I feel like I may finally be reading to at least start working on that.
I've also in the last week taken a break from the Hawktober games slog and moved over to another game that I plan to cover in collaboration with another channel. That's all I'm telling you for now, but it's a project I'm excited to work on again and hopefully have out in decent fashion. Another little thing I'm considering working on is a collection update... which is kinda weird now that I've moved, but I have had so many people ask me about the collection; where is it? Why is it not in your apartment and will it be back? So I'm thinking that could just be a quick, fun little thing to discuss and show in a video for something different to break up the relentless onslaught of game testing episodes lately. Please let me know what you think about that!
August Plans) The goal for August will be getting the bulk of my Hawktober stuff ready to be filmed, hopefully even starting to film if things go well. I'm also hoping to have some kind of SEJ episode uploaded, though honestly, I have no idea what that could be or if it's even possible. And I'm also planning to get this Ty documentary underway (finally). That THPS 1+2 remake and Crash are going to be out in literally no time though which has me a bit worried but whatever. Let's try to be fluid and take things as they come, because being able to enjoy it is the true goal for me right now!
A Controversial Method) Since I've had Hawktober and other games that have needed playing lately, that's been my work each day. However I've noticed that I have a really shit habit of not starting until the afternoon getting distracted most of the day before it, mostly thinking about what I'd like to play or do in my spare time. Well I have discovered that if I get up and actually play a game for an hour of free time, I get into my zone more efficiently and then have no trouble getting into the actual work stuff... for the rest of the day, no distractions!
No idea how long it's gonna last but I plan to use it while I can! 😅

Closing Thoughts) All in all, things are doing well right now both with the channel and especially me and my mental health which is safe to say, a massive improvement compared to even just a few months ago. Thanks for the patience in regards to Square Eyed Jak review episodes. I think that maybe instead of looking for review to have up before Tony Hawk remakes and Crash 4, maybe something a little more streamline to produce, like a Top 10 would be a great way to get some more substantial content out without taking too much time away from more important projects.
REMINDER: Last call for Podcast questions! Drop them below! Anyway, thanks for much for reading and as always, I hope you have a great fucking day. Cheers!
