Post PAX AUS/Hawktober Update! (Patreon)

G'day everyone, hope things are going well. The past few weeks have been absolutely nuts on my end, I'm just gonna update you all on what has been happening and my plans moving forward!

(sorry I'm a little behind on Behind the Scenes posts here. I'll aim to have the Destruction Derby BTS post completed in the next week or so!)

PAX AUS) So I attended my first convention since 2019 and it was an incredible week I must say! Don and I hosted some our friends from interstate and New Zealand for a week in Melbourne city. For many of them, it was their first real holiday so we definitely made the most of it! The convention itself was A LOT of fun, thanks to everyone I managed to catch up with there and get a picture. The big news coming out of PAX: I got to co-host a PANEL!!!

It was a very last minute thing, a longtime viewer PuffyPalace was cosplaying at the event and while chatting, she invited me to join them to talk about 90's/00's Nostalgia!

It was honestly such an exhilarating experience, everything went very well. I only got the offer 3 hours before it happened and I spent most of that with my friends. Had about 30 minutes of total prep. Even had a few people in the crowd who follow the channel who weren't expecting to see me there (as I wasn't advertised) so when I got good reviews from them, I was pretty stoked ngl. The crowd outside to get in was so big, many people got turned away. Unfortunately some of the crew there to film also were turned away. I've heard that someone filmed the entire thing on a phone. If I can get my hands on that footage, I'm debating doing a video detailing that experience first hand with some of the highlights!

HAWKTOBER 6) Before all of that, I smashed out 6 Hawktober videos in the span of 2 weeks a lot easier than I had anticipated. This past week Hawktober went live and the response has been just incredible! Not only have all the videos received a heap of positive feedback, I wouldn't normally discuss numbers publicly but I'm very proud... Hawktober has been so successful that it's actually led to a 4 figure earning month for the channel just barely! I haven't had one of those since Crash 4 and THPS 1+2 in 2020 and honestly with the way the last year has gone, I figured that wasn't going to happen again. So I will admit seeing that has really lit a fire in my tummy to smash out more content knowing that the channel can still be successful! Cheers guys!

Extended Break) On that note... along with the week or so I've had off from working on content for PAX, another week as of right now where I've been unwell (not covid thankfully but definitely post-con flu) after this, I'll be travelling interstate to visit family for a week before the end of October. It's a hectic month so I'm just taking this time to relax. I've got plenty of ideas floating around that I'm keen to get stuck into as soon as I'm home and in a mood to work again. Just FYI, expect a some delay between Hawktober and the next video to go up sometime mid November-ish!

As for the stuff I've got in the pipeline, nothing has been scripted yet but I've taken notes on a few things. NO IDEA IF ANY OF THESE WILL SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY so I'm just gonna throw a few things out:

• Movie review related to an unreleased game - LOST MEDIA type episode
• Is there any value to Atari 2600 in 2022?? - discussing why I still enjoy the platform and why it's fun
• I've got a few weird Japanese things here I wanna talk about (doubt they will be popular topics though)
• Been in a massive wrestling mood after PAX so I might wanna look at doing some kind of retrospective similar to the Destruction Derby video, or just a standalone (no plans for bring Macho Man back)
• Been wanting to do a system review for a while but no idea what I'd go with
• I have been wanting to revisit the Sly Cooper Trilogy similar to my Jak and Daxter content from 2020, which would lead to a Sly 4 review (no plans to dress up as Sly or anything)

Along with all of that, I'd like to hopefully mass film some Game Testing episodes and with the additional income I've had from Hawktober, pay someone to edit them for me just so I can spend more time working on review content. It's something I've wanted to test run for some time now as a way to keep up the flow of content.
