Hey! In this video I show you how I painted the eye of my colourful hare painting. I show you the whole process. This was my favourite part of creating this piece, I love painting the highlights in eyes and seeing how it makes the painting pop.

Materials used: Liquitex acrylic paints (mars black, titanium white, yellow oxide, raw sienna, raw umber, deep purple, medium magenta, light blue permanent)

Hi Rachel! Thanks for this great tutorial :) Do you have any tips for doing animal eyelashes? I'm doing the zebra and noticed it skipped past the eyeslashes (understandably with time constraints). Would love if you had any tips for me as I struggle with fine details. Getting the golden fluid paints as you suggested as well

Hi Amanda! I have this horse eye tutorial that shows how to paint the eyelashes at the end: https://www.patreon.com/posts/how-to-paint-97447692?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link I think it's at about the 1 hour 23 minute mark. Yes the fluid paints are really good for fine details, and a very fine brush, or even sometimes a thin slanted paintbrush is good. I hope you're enjoying painting the zebra! He was one of my favourites to paint :)
