Hey! I hope you are all doing well. This is a full length tutorial for this colourful kingfisher painting. I loved painting this, I think it's one of my favourite birds to paint! Let me know if you have any questions. I'll write the materials and paints I used below.

I love this sooo much♥️ This is my very first time being a Patreon. I have been an artist all my life but my last two paintings I didn't like them. This wasn't the normal "artist perfectionism" happening. It felt like I baked a good cake but as I taste it I know their is an ingredient missing. I couldn't figure it out until I saw your YouTube videos. I love your style. It is colorful and not rigid. I am legally blind. I can still see color but my eyesight is like watercolor with no hard edges. So when I saw your video it stood out so much. I was thinking this is it. I can do this☺️ For many years that I have been an artist I focused on realism but now that I am blind I know I need to make some changes. It's very hard and uncomfortable but I reeeaally want to keep doing art no matter what. This one video already taught me a lot. You are a great teacher. I look forward to learning from you. Thank you very much.

Hi Barbara, thanks so much for your lovely comment, I'm so glad that you like my art and are able to learn from it too. It must be really tough being legally blind but I'm so glad that you still love to create art! I love to put contrasting colours next to each other as I find it really makes the painting stand out, and I imagine this will be great for you too as the contrast in the colours should be easier to see? I'd love to see some of your art :) If you have any questions at all or need any help just send me a message. Hope you have a great day! Rachel x

Thank you... YES! I think it is the contrasting colors that I see the most. I would love to share my work but I am new to this platform and I don't know how to share my work with you and here is the only way I know to send a message. Is that ok? Can you please tell how I can share my work? Thank You

Oh yes I'm actually not sure how you can share images through here. But you can send me an email with images if you'd like :) my email address is rachel@rachelfroud.com
