Hey everyone, here's our second follow-up to our episode on Problem Child 1 & 2. We wanted to talk about the film that Dennis Dugan directed after Problem Child - Brain Donors. It's a loose remake/tribute to "A Night at the Opera" and the films of The Marx Brothers. We also chat a little bit about the Marx Brothers movies themselves, including their history and what we feel they did right and wrong, as well as the great Margaret Dumont.

You know, I only know of Moving Violation from that one clip of that cop car getting its roof cut off, and I know that clip from the first episode of Fall Guy

Great conversation, gents. First time I heard of Brain Donors, it was seeing the VHS tape at a video rental store. I believe they were unfortunately going out of business. This was probably late-90s. Still haven’t seen it, but the film is definitely on my mental list. Another random suggestion: Tapeheads (1988) with John Cusack and Tim Robbins. Not the most amazing film overall, but I think there’s a lot to talk about on this one. A weird flick that I don’t think you hear too many people reference. And, a couple more double/triple feature suggestions: - The Return of the Living Dead Parts I and II. 1985 and 1988 respectively. A perfect horror-comedy followed by a less superior sequel that I still really enjoy. A discussion for October 2022? - The Big Picture (1989) and For Your Consideration (2006). Christopher Guest’s take on the movie business (twice). - Better Off Dead (1985), One Crazy Summer (1986), and How I Got Into College (1989). A triple feature from Savage Steve Holland. Thanks again for the great content.

I loved this movie as a kid too. I didn’t even know who the Marx brothers were until I was a teenager and then this movie, the pickle stork, and the old cheap dosguises clicked into my head.

FYI they just released Brain Candy on Blu-ray. You guys have the influence.

Absolutely love this movie. It's probably my favorite movie out of all the movies you have covered on both the podcast and the Hats Off channel. I hope it gets a Blu-ray release someday.
