Hey everyone! As promised, here is our discussion on 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' recorded just minutes after we saw the movie on Thursday night. This is the first time we've talked about a movie immediately after watching it in a movie theater so our thoughts weren't as organized as if we'd been taking notes but we still found a lot to talk about and tangents to go on - as you can tell from the runtime.

If you've seen the movie, tell us what you thought of it! Did you agree or disagree with what we had to say? Let us know below!

I liked it, it has its problems but I thought it was a nice end to the series

Wade Wilson

Had some good moments but Wallerbridge killed it for me. Her stupid smug face and the "I can do everything better than portanginist" trope was eye rolling. Don't even get me started on the ending. If it hadn't been the end I would have walked out.

You guys ever seen Yellowstone? If not the Spinoff series 1923 has Ford in it and he's pretty good in it

JokersJuicyAss

Well if you guys want some non CGI truck chasing and near death shit, go watch Black Dog, the one chase with the bikes is just, that is never going to happen again you can't do that anymore only in the late 90s you could've done that

Luke Gordnier

The de aging looked good in a couple of shots in the first flashback scene. It looked terrible in the second flashback

Weird because I remember Men in Black iii was being one of the worst films of 2013, which is saying a lot because that year had Movie 43, Scary Movie V, Grown Ups 2 (Pair it with the first one, it's the perfect nostalgic afternoon for me) A Haunted House, After Earth, RIPD, Die Hard 5, The Smurf 2, Identity Thief, The Hangover Part 3, and Texas Chainsaw 3D (One of the better Texas Chainsaw films, don't at me because you know I'm right)

You know my experience with Boomers is pretty different from you twos, mine's more positive but that's another thing, (Also don't trust Gen X when they take over all hell is going to break lose) but their nostalgia is more so for the 1970s and 80s, which I mean going off for the hard ones you twos have for the 1970s, you might need to come West to Arizona, plus for Ryan we have a shitton of Mexicans here, you can be a Milko

Monkey King was actually Africa, and oh boy it's fucking bad, another podcast Cancelled Movies, they recreate scenes of the movie and it's pretty good, my first episode of theirs was Monkey King and oh boy, think of the worst movie of a popular franchise, the one movie everyone say to skip, this is worst than that, Monkey King is more on pair with Trainwreckords than any film franchise out there, how shit that script was is so bad only the lives of musical hasbeens is similar to it

Disney did have the use the paramount logo cause that was the deal they made with them to get distribution rights cause Lucasfilm didn’t own them. It’s stupid they didn’t do the mountain dissolve

Sidetracks

I haven’t. Do I need to watch Yellowstone to enjoy 1923 though?

Sidetracks

That’s what I thought. Indeed a stupid decision then. They could’ve easily faded from the Paramount logo to that opening castle location

Sidetracks

I agree she wasn’t a fleshed out enough character but, much like Mutt, I found the issues more in the writing than the performance.

Steven Trotter

Yo whens the South Park episode coming? After The Freshman?

JokersJuicyAss

Nope given it's a prequel that takes place like 100 years before the events of Yellowstone

JokersJuicyAss

I just realize, fucking Dead Island 2's parody of Indiana Jones pretty much just predicted some plot points of this film

JokersJuicyAss

Actually Ryan the original of Crystal Skull had Mutt actually take the hat, but people got so pissy they reshot the ending so Indie takes the hat

Cassie Bee

I thought it was okay. It didn’t bore or confuse me. Some of the cgi was shitty. And the kid was a little annoying. I also was shocked they didn’t make the female CIA agent switch sides.

Sidetracks

Now we just need to hold him accountable for 'You People'

On the subject of Young Indiana Jones episodes being 90 minutes, that's because when they were released they strung two episodes together for each one. When they were originally aired they were 30 minute episodes minus commercials.
