Here we are with another episode of The Noble Trials! I swear, with every instalment, I give myself more and more challenges. But I was definitely up for the task this time round, and I honestly think it came out great! This series always inspires me, and I am so eager to continue the journeys of Zaros and Earis.

I’m actually speechless, Saku you’ve really outdone yourself with this one 😳 first of all I have to point out the SFX and background music used, it was perfectly mixed and chosen and in the scenes we were given, it made all the difference. Hearing the enemy appear through its footsteps binaurally in just one ear??? I got chills, it’s something so simple but it made it all the more real. And nothing like a moment where someone’s life is in danger to bring them closer together 🤭 some reallt important conversations were had and the delivery of the lines was fantastic as always. You sell this story so well, so naturally, it’s like I grew up in this world. Like yes of course we use this and this ingredient to stop the bleeding, and ah yes, the blue vial to coat the blade with, why didn’t I think of that? You’re a fantastic storyteller Saku, please don’t shy away from making more intricate, story-driven audios like this because no one does them like you. You are simply a magnificent storyteller, it’s as simple as that. Thank you once again, I can’t wait for the next part! 💛

WAAAA I LOVE THEM SO BAD everything in this audio was perfect and mannnn do I live for a fight scene. The way you paint every scene with audio is so satisfying because it really does feel like we’re there as Earis. Like when Adaron first cried out I literally felt a chill and same thing when the beast first appeared. And the fight scene was amazing too, like I can’t visualize things in my head but I still felt like I could see exactly what was going on even without being told. Then with Zaros too it was so clear to see how scared he was for Earis and having to recall all he learned in order to save them. You are so good at storytelling through both writing and audio and I love to see it every time. Now onto them,,, I am so obsessed with their relationship like they live in my head rent free constantly. I loved Zaros talking about all the things he’d read and learned about and hearing how passionate he was about the history of it all. And Earis even called him endearing likekuwbeidwueb just kiss already. Their banter is so fun to listen to <3 This audio and the last one also just showcase how perfect they are for each other even if it makes the slow burn angst hurt so much more. From smaller things like different but complimentary priorities to distinct roles in protecting one another, they just work so well together and i love them. Pls if they don’t end up as co-rulers together or just anything together I’ll cry. I love how Zaros encourages Earis to look inward and to feel the desire to know themself past all the roles they’ve been given. To be honest with themself, even if it was only with him in that moment. He does so much to bring out the Earis they have likely never had the chance to see. I feel Earis is stuck in a box when they are with others, only being able to do so much under whatever role they’ve been given. But with Zaros they can actually grow and develop more as a person because he sees them as more. gaaaah and hearing them talk more about the past or how they’ve viewed one another makes me want a flashback episode so bad just see how everything was and to see how it all went wrong. They were drawn to each other and were each other’s closest friend, but then something led to Earis feeling like they had to cut him out of their life and the only way they thought they could do that was by making him hate them (or maybe that was they way they thought they’d feel the least amount of guilt?). They probably tried to comfort(?) themself by convincing themself that he hated them, because it’s easier to do bad things or to think poorly of someone who hates you than someone who loves you. Maybe it’s a form of self-sabotage? or pressure from their mom or the nobles? Either way I can imagine whirl of feelings when Zaros said he never hated them and likely never could. I feel like this trip outside of the capital has been so good for both of them, and it makes me scared for when they have to go back because I feel like Earis will fall back again </3 But on a different note I just can’t get over how cute they are like Earis not letting go of Zaros’ hand, and then the way he says “My Earis” does something to me like i’m insane I love him sm Anywayyyy enough rambling for now. Thank you as always Saku for the amazing episode! You always manage to surprise me with how good your stories are and I am so excited for the next installment

Ok. This is gonna be all over the place so, bare with me plz 😅. I have a feeling that this is the start of the last trial. I mean, why let these 2 travel by themselves!? And Zaros mentioned that the beast steer clear of the humans so why did it attack?? And the kid? Really? He said he lost his 2 siblings, 1 is sick and he’s the oldest. Why would any parent ‘forget’ or left behind their child by accident? I mean, it didn’t say that they left him behind by accident but come on now, the kid was by himself in the woods or the wild for a day and more.. I mean, his (the kid) past that he talked about sounds convincing and i honestly believe him. I believe his family ‘problems’ are real but, what if he’s getting paid to be a part of the next trial? But then again, idk. Maybe I’m just overthinking things 😅🤷‍♀️. I have to say tho, I’m always hearing and witnessing ‘the opposites attracts’ trope but this is different. Not in a bad way but it’s quite interesting and entertaining 😄. They both yearn for the same thing but at the same time, one doesn’t have much freedom like the other one (had). Zaros doesn’t want to be king but can’t forfeit. Seems like he’s not living for himself anymore (honestly by how he’s been talking about his life so far, I feel like he hasn’t lived for himself at all without him knowing) it’s like he’s being groomed (not saying this is true. It’s just how I see it) Earis thinks they want the crown. They’ve seen and heard things that a lot of people haven’t seen and heard. So change is something that they believe Serula needs. But idk. I think the real reason for them to fight for the crown is cause they wouldn’t want to bring shame upon their family name. How they’ve been ruling for decades now. And if they loose this trial means they’ve failed. They’re a failure. That’s all they’re gonna be thinking about. They’ve put shame upon the Ilves name. No matter how many people tells them otherwise, they’ll always look at themselves as a failure. They’ve been paved and mended to BE their family’s successor. They have a lot in common but are both different at the same time. They understand each other. (Well, Zaros seems like he knows a lot more about the Earis than i thought). It’s like they’re each other’s comfort zones. In terms of the father.. seems like the Earis knows their own father lol. I’m curious to hear of him tho 👀 Tho their promise.. “Never to filter ourselves about how we felt for each other. No matter what mask we wore”.. interesting. Also, I wonder how Zaros felt when he saw the Earis hurt. Worried? Scared? 😂. We should tease him a lil 😉. “You should’ve seen the look on your face~😏” Also, isn’t it dangerous to hide in a cave where ‘care dwellers’ or whatever exists in the wild? (where they are) Anyways, too long Ciao~🧡 (Ps. If there’s any spelling mistakes, sorry. It’s 2am rn. I’m sleepy 🥱)

Adaron calling Zaros the blonde man is so funny to me 🤣. He's not “the lord”, “the man you're with”, or “the guy”, he's just the blonde man. The bluntness is hilarious to me for some reason. Speaking of the kiddo, this whole situation felt contrived in a way. Not saying Adaron is a plant or anything, because I think he would've let something slip between his panic with the beast and with Earis being wounded, but the oldest child somehow getting lost in the middle of the forest when the parents depend on him so much? There's no way they didn't instantly notice his absence and immediately go back for him (unless his parents aren't shit but I digress). And to top it off, Earis and Zaros also conveniently don’t have any guards with them 👀. Why were they traveling alone? Just last episode Earis mentioned how they had to juke the guards in order to get a moment of solitude, and now suddenly they're traveling through a forest for a stretch of time and there's no guards with them especially for the heir to the throne? Was this a setup? Smells fishy to me. 🧐 But more on Adaron, I need him to make frequent appearances throughout this series not only because they're adorable but also because I get more parent content of Zaros and Earis☺️. I want to see Adaron taking an interest in swordfighting (maybe practicing with a stick somewhere, maybe Earis doing a mock training with them) because they want to become strong like Earis, and choosing to study herbology to save lives like Zaros (and Zaros maybe tutoring Adaron). So, Adaron grows up to become someone who can protect and save lives all because of one single encounter. I like that. And of course, there would be more parent content for Earis and Zaros teehee. 🤫🤭 It does seem like with each new audio, Zaros and Earis become closer and closer; possibly returning to their amicable dynamic they had back at the academy. I mean, Zaros being so excited to rant about random information because he thinks Earis would find it interesting makes me wonder if he did the same thing back in their academy days. Idk, maybe after learning an interesting fact about a plant or history or something, he would scurry through the halls looking for Earis because he knew they were interested in it too 🥺. It also makes me think if he had any friends back then because why are you excitedly racing after a person who's a menace and bully to the whole school like😬? It's kind of cute but also sad because people probably judged him for not being a proper noble/house and shunned him for it whereas Earis ironically welcomed him (in their own bickering, tsundere, bratty way). But in the present day for neither of them to have friends, it makes sense why they put up with the hostility of each other because they honestly have no one else. However, I’m still hoping for a possible romance between the two whether past or present because why was Zaros getting a little bit too vocal and animated while Earis is fighting🤭? He really was being their biggest cheerleader. Careful there loverboy, you’re being a bit too obvious about your affection🤭. And Zaros being cute. Earis teasing him for being cute. Earis wanting his hand for comfort. Earis opening up to him. Zaros opening up to them. Progress being made. Now, they just need to kiss😘. But honestly, if they aren’t going to be endgame and co-rule, then since Zaros wants to be a sailor and Earis an adventurer, their happy ending is set up perfectly for them to abdicate the throne/trials and just journey together. Though the question arises who would they abdicate the throne to, I wonder?🤔 Looking forward, Earis has a wounded leg and the next trial is combat and starting very soon. My guess is they'll have to compete in the trials with a barely healed leg and that may affect their performance. Would be interesting to see them lose the one trial they feel they should win due to it being their speciality all because they chose to defend Adaron and Zaros. Putting others before themselves and suffering the consequences. Will they regret it? That would be some juicy self-reflection😋. I also wonder if Zaros would take advantage of their weakness like target their leg during combat? Might seem underhanded or clever depending on how you look at it. Earis may call him out on it and liken it to them cheating during the debate. Wonder if they'll feel betrayed and understand how Zaros felt after the debate. Or Zaros could avidly avoid their wounded leg, costing him the trial. Earis may still be angry because it would look like Zaros went easy on them or pitied them and decided to throw. Wonder how their self-worth will tank or their affection for Zaros will grow after that. Questions questions questions…🤔🤔 Also, was that actually you whistling??? That was such a crisp and smooth whistle!👌 (this is coming from someone who can’t even whistle btw) Lovely audio once again, Saku! Can’t wait for more!

Despite my suspicions about the child, i still would love for him to tag along with zaros and the Earis 😄. So cute. They can be that perfect family that they’ll all probably never have or… it can be preview of what their future would look like 👀🤭

When Zaros came back after getting more ‘medicines’ from the carriage, he said something to Adaron like “You’re very brave, and I’m proud of you”. But Adaron only said that when the blonde man left.. Does that mean Zaros must’ve heard the convo between Earis and Adaron?? I mean, Adaron first mentioned him wanting to be brave when Zaros ran out so it makes sense if he heard it then without a choice but then again, Adaron did said it again towards the end of his convo with the Earis. But then again, Zaros was rushing to get the medicines ready to treat Earis so he might not have heard anything cause he was too focused or the dude was just too busy panicking 😅 ehhh idk 🤷‍♀️

After listening to this again, I don’t think the Earis’ dad was just a commoner. I mean, unless she (Earis’ mum) was a freaky or an adventurous kind 😏👀 then… idk 😉. But after Zaros and Earis’ convo in the library about some suitors and all, it’s clear that it has to be someone with an important title or maybe just someone within the circle ⭕️.
