This episode has been a long time coming! I originally wanted to complete this at the end of April after I came back from holiday, but that month-long break was necessary, as were the solo stories that allowed me to shake off the rust and return to my groove. Now that I'm in full swing, the next part is finally here, and I apologise for the long wait!

I've had this idea in mind for a while, and I'm so glad to hear it come to fruition, so I hope you enjoy Elias' next instalment!

I don’t have as much things to say about James. I goddamn hate him. I don’t hate him as much as I hate Tara because I understand he had to pick between his brother-in-law and his actual blood sister, who he mourned for years and is probably his only family. I get it dude, I understand, but shit the thing that really gets me is that they were willing to let the bomb kill him. way before they decided, correct me if I’m wrong, that they were going to tell eli the truth and try to get him to convince warden to leave the wraiths. THAT is precisely what gets me because he found out this year tara was alive. that meant that for all the years she was dead, WARDEN was his only companion through that pain. elias knew her for only like 14 years or smth, but THEY BOYH knew her half of their lives! (james for all of his life) He was his companion through the pain who knew her just as well as he did, do you know the bond warden probably thinks they have?? but no james doesn’t see it like. like I said before I understand he had to pick between his sister who he mourned and probably wish she’d come back for years or warden. That’s not the part im upset about, but BROTHER try to protect warden as well! like you can be on your sisters side, but you don’t have to fully stop being on warden side. you can protect warden too, but no. motherfucker just stood there and rolled over while he was told warden was going to die , and did NOTHING. years of being warden‘s most trusted man ,the only memory he had of Tara, his companion through tara’s death, just for James to throw that away. The only reason I don’t want him dead is because I understand that’s his sister, TARA is the one that needs to fucking die. she’s the real villain of this series!! and yk what? listener had enough balls to tell james that she didn’t trust him, and to question whether or not he actually had good intentions for Elias, so I think once they get to meet Tara face-to-face, they will be a bit hesitant, but eventually they’re going to tell Tara the truth of what they think about her too. and because that’s Elias‘s mother who he thought she was dead, that’s probably going to put a strain in their relationship because I doubt that you’re going to write listener just being submissive and taking every command tara gives her because you’ve already made it known that just because James was a very trusted and very loved person by eli, that didn’t stop them from making it known that they didn’t trust James. so I highly believe that there will be a scene where they will confront Tara on the fact that she thinks she’s doing the right thing, but she’s really not. 3/3

and one more thing. she’s using the excuse that no matter how much warden loves her, he won’t leave the wraiths for her because he’ll get pissed or whatever that james betrayed him and sided with Morgan. She’s using that excuse to cover up the fact that she has a savior fucking complex, and she’s not willing to choose taking her husband, her son and her brother somewhere safer they can live happily ever after over “saving Stockton”. By the way , they’re gonna die at some point. so if they save Stockton now, there’s a good chance.. next generation these efforts won’t matter! girl just take your family somewhere safe, leave Stockton to burn!! like holy shit. (and the fact that I’m getting so pissed about this just tells me that you’re so good at writing villains lol)

elias, in a way, IS betraying him. him having to choose between his mother or his father is so upsetting, like he’s been through so much. BUT here’s my take on this. like I said, in a way he ISS betraying him because he is withholding very very, very important information. for example, just something to throw out there, his wife is alive. His wife was willing to let him die. His wife is working with Morgan. his brother-in-law is working with Morgan, who knows said wife is alive. the four of them, and also the listener (who he let live) all know this and he’s just being taken as a fool. at this point, Warren can burn Stockton TO the FUCKING ground and I won’t even be mad about it. like let him go crazy, cause there ain’t no way he’s getting done this dirty by his whole family.

Guys I dont think we picked this one. Because why is the CYP crossed out Tbh i actually agree with tara because if you think about it from her perspective Warden has done every thing but what she wanted. She didnt want Elias involved Warden still recruited him. She wanted Stockton to be safer for children, because remember the wraths started when elias was unable to go to school anymore due to gang violence, but Warden has recruited the same children tara wanted protected. Warden has prioritised expanding the wraiths with any means necessary (which is what he think she wanted) instead of prioritising the reason it was started, which was to make stockton safer.

bro i had to go back and listen to james threatening the listener not tell elias about what they overheard for his safety. now it’s untrustworthy they didn’t confess? righttt righttttt… and when they confessed to elias about the first time he threatened them that meant nothing regarding listener’s loyalty? in fact he threw that back in their face last episode to scare them into submission this time….rightt righttt……james pmo. yeah yeah listener obviously should’ve confessed that they didn’t trust james in this audio, but i still cannot blame them when he drones on about how out of their depth they are here. and what would listener’s distrust of james even have meant to elias? why would he believe the opinions of a civilian ignorant to this world over his deeply integrated uncle who he trusts more than anyone? he’d have no reason/would be unwilling to put listener’s obscure pieces together to suspect james. considering james acknowledged that the listener actually cares for elias, i guess he just wants to isolate elias from them for his plans (whatever that accomplishes) but it’s so annoying how listener keeps getting the short end of the stick, genuinely free them. at this point as much as i love elias as a character i wouldn’t mind listener just dipping from all this it’s not worth it. i lowk hope this causes them to become more emotionally detached from this whole situation and to look out for themselves first. and poor elias, i guess objectively all these characters (tara, james, morgan) have complex personalities and motives, but to him everyone is doing him SO dirty; i’d turn into a depressed shell of myself if i were him. (are they considerate of that? or do they only care about his physical safety and their grand plans?). great voice acting from everyone and amazing audio overall!

So this is the first series of yours I really got into and it’s one of my favorites - what you did here is really brilliant and unique and turns the whole series on its head! I was so hooked the entire time! Everyone is upset lmaooo (understandably) but I’m super stoked to see how things turn out. Tbh Listener is a normal person not equipped to be in these situations and if I wasn’t sure what was going on, I’d probably lie too if I didn’t know what the outcome would be if I told the truth. Besides even if they told Elias, doesn’t mean he would have believed them. I do feel really bad for him though, it was super embarrassing when he was lashing out and it was clear he was misinformed about a lot of things. Man. Also his mom sounds low key evil, yiiiiikes.

I’m so confused and utterly pissed off at James actions here. Literally in the last episode, he made this whole big fuss that was hinged on one thing: To not tell Elias ANYTHING. He threatened to kill us, intimidated us, and manipulated us into believing that the information he holds can end up getting Elias killed if we go on tell him everything we have heard. He literally told us that he wanted Elias’ involvement to be as minimal as possible. Only for us to be knocked out, dragged from our safe house, and kidnapped by the same enemies that they were fighting. AND TELLS ELIAS THE SAME INFO THAT HE THREATENED US NOT TO TELL. To make matters worse, HE QUITE LITERALLY THROWS ALL THE SHIT HE DID TO US BACK IN OUR FACE. This man makes it seem like we never told Elias about this shit cuz we aren’t trustworthy—AS IF HE DIDN’T LITERALLY FORCE US INTO SILENCE BY WORD OF HIS FUCKING THREATS. What was literally the point of putting us through all THAT just to turn around and do the exact opposite of what he told us not to do??? And punishing us for doing as he told us?? Hello!? I don’t even blame Barista for not telling him, honestly. From what we know right now, they’re a civilian, someone who is ignorant to the underbelly of society. They do not know how to navigate gang banging the way Elias and James and the rest of them do. And on top of that, even though it’s obvious that Barista cares about Elias and Elias cares about them—James was someone he’s known and trusted with everything he’s had in him. Even if we DID tell Elias about the phone call in the last audio, I highly doubt Elias would have believed us. In THIS audio, he was so adamant about James not being involved when Morgan told him he was, that he only believed it when he showed him the proof. And that was something we did not have in the last audio. Even when we WERE honest about James’ actions toward us (I’m referencing episode 5, when we first meet James in the safe house) Elias still rationalized James’ behavior. So even if Barista would have told him last audio, I’m very doubtful he would have believed us if there no was no sufficient evidence to back it up. That being said…Barista still should have told him. But I also understand why they didn’t.
