- A lot of the songs that are performed on Immortal Songs are going to be older songs. So each episode will focus on either an older artist or have some theme to the songs. I remember either Swan or Purple Kiss's performance featured them doing a newer song by an artist that had been around for quite a long time. - Not all songs have to be old like Ailee performed That That last year. - Yeah, the show certainly meant to appeal to an older crowd. - Certainly a bit of paying homage. - How the competition for this show goes is that the artists are picked at random to decide what order they will sing. After the first two artists perform, the audience will vote for which one they liked better. The winner goes on and then the next performance, they vote between the winner of the last round and the latest performance. This continues until everyone has performed (or half of them have performed in two-part episodes). - They only won 3 times. - Delilah was originally a Tom Jones song. I'm assuming the artist being honored for this episode was one who translated English songs into Korean and that it is why it is both in English and Korean - The only plus side for Moonbyul was she got to write her lyrics. - The guy who you couldn't figure out his expression would have been the guy whose song they were featuring. - Backwoods is the first one that they won with. - It has been a while since I listened to the medley, so I can't remember which songs exactly were in it and since I have watched all the performances it makes it harder for me to say which ones I remember from that and their actual performances. - Looking it up, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy performed on the following episode (but it was a two-parter so all of the performers would have been backstage for both episodes). - If they are standing up when they cut to someone backstage, then they are the ones that they are currently competing against (so depending on the order either the very first team or the ones that won the last vote). If they are sitting down backstage then they are the other competitors that either already lost or waiting to still sing. Then whoever is in the audience looks like they have a special seat, they are the ones whose song they are singing. - From the performer looking at the audience. - Assuming the original singer is alive, then yes, they are invited. - Looking at the date on the episode, it came out days before Easy. - The final song was originally done by Koyote, a first-generation mixed-gender group. - There is only one performance that you missed and that was Solar's solo performance. - There is another show that had the same vibe: Sugar Man (Aka Two Yoo Project). For that show, the focus would be on two one-hit wonders artists. They would sing one of their songs and then a newer artist would come on and perform an updated version of the song. There were more idols on that show compared to Immortal Songs. Mamamoo did it, along with various others. The show didn't last as long as there aren't as many performances to search through. I took a look through the wiki and here are some that stuck out to me (besides one I have previously mentioned, either in these comments or elsewhere). For those that I hadn't watched before, I did take a quick look through the performance just to make sure it didn't stick out as something that I wouldn't care for. - Lee Mujin - The Very First Confession - Bada - Amor Fati - Ateez - Fantastic Baby & Nillili Mambo - Everglow & Aura - 10 Minutes - Laboum - Eternal Love - Gummy & Ailee - Growl - Brave Girls - It's a Fireball - Giriboy & Heize - What Would Have Been - Ateez - Right Now - Jessi - I Luv it - Brave Girls - Wa - (G)I-DLE - Sad Dream - CLC - Gone with the Wind - Dreamcatcher - Like an Indian Doll - Dreamcatcher - To DJ - Weki Meki - Sweety - Ailee - Letter (Pretty sure Bibi performed the same song on The Fan) - Loona - Love Battery - EXID - You Like Me, I Like You - Koo Junyup & Dawon & Yeonjung - Unreasonable Reason - WJSN - Monologue

I think its great that they do older songs like this, it has multiple factors that make it a good thing for everyone involved. It can either/both make an older crowd fans of newer/younger artists or/and can make old songs/artists relevant again. - im glad that they mix in newer songs from older artists too, kinda shows that just because you have been around doesnt mean that you have to live in the shadow of your "old songs" - i love when homage is paid in a sincere and unique fashion. i cant even imagine how cool it is to see anyone cover/reimagine your song, especially when its a group as talanted as Mamamoo - ok that makes sense for the format of the show, so the whole thing is audience vote, no judges or anything? - Its hard to tell how many times they have been on the show, but 3 wins seems good... do you happen to know who has the most wins ever? - i knew the chorus of the Delilah sounded so familiar but i couldnt place it so i didnt mention it, I like a few Tom Jones songs, im surprised i couldnt place it. Now that you mention i cant unhear the original lol - i love that Moonbyul has so many writing credits, and im really glad its different now for her. In the early years looking back i feel bad for her, its got to be rough feeling like an outsider in your own group. I saw an interview or something that mentioned she battled with it too, like in a 4 minute song you get 15 secs. She has such a unique tone and style, its a shame it took so long for that to be realized - tbh this all makes the medley even more impressive, there were a lot more songs in it than i originally realized, and now i can appreciate the cuts and transitions even better - im going to for sure have to look up any RV performances lol.. RV and Mamamoo are in an eternal battle in my head for favorite group and ult bias between Solar and Seulgi, if asked i usually tip my hat to Solar because she was my bias before i even knew the term bias relating to kpop - that makes sense about the competition/waiting or defeated artists/songs OG performer/audience knowing that now and looking back its clear - ok so the fog i was talking about would have been called "stage right" ? - i love Easy, that songs style fits Wheein so well, but then again i have thoroughly enjoyed every song from her solo efforts. Wheein is prolly the one who i like the most when solely talking about solo career - The Sugar Man show sounds cool too, ill try to find the performances and check them out sooner than later - Hell yeah, ill for sure check out those performances. Im really liking the quality of performances from the show so far, that helps being excited about more even if i dont know the artist. I think i know all but Bada, Laboum and Koo Yunyup/Dawan/Yeonjung so itll be cool to get to know them aswell Im thinking for some structure to this since there are so many performances from so many people, that i might do a few of single artists and then do some of mixed artists. I looked it up it seems Ailee has had over 30 performances so i was thinking of maybe starting there at 6-7 songs per video i could fit them all within 5ish videos. But now after reading your list, there are so many i want to see and not wait for lol
