Per this study, some Millennials often underestimate the complexity of retirement planning and the financial needs they will face. I always stress planning. Having a plan and sticking to it is key.

I can tell you right now, if you are under 43, and you think 500K is going to cut it as a retirement saving bag - it is not. 71% will be challenged.

$1.3M is not a bad initial goal. As I say, the first 100K is hard to make, and turning that into $1M is easier than expected.

Like James says you have to account for inflation. On top of that what is the taxman who goes deeper into debt do? Expect more taxation and/or less benefits. The bigger the reserve, the better. Economic dominance with likely change in the future and also expect a sideways market where it takes a decade to get back to 2025. Stay flush friends.

I can say james is right. Up to 100k is hard...very hard.. After that it builds fast. You have got to be on it relentlessly. James changed my life. Only stick with top crypto and stock. Proxies rule. Watching Dell.. looking for safe entry into nvidia again. Sticking with miners and microstrategy. Waiting to get back to my beloved tesla. We shall see.

James do you think the govt debt rising to unmanageable levels might ever put Roth IRAs at risk of being taxed? I really hope they can't do this, but it's something I worry about.

Well, this isn’t fair guys at the peak. I made it to just a hair under 100 K never seen that much in my life and just blown away I thought maybe that’s what I needed for retirement. Now I realize how screwed I am with a little panic selling of some of my on that previous, I’m way back like halfway back. How far do you go back? You just not let go is that how you make the hundred thousand into 1 million do I just have to have to diamond hands it because that didn’t work for me last time or with Luna….😱

Waiting for my TSLA and BTC bag to explode within the next five years- then I'd be done, however: my plan is to never retire (advantage when self-employed)

Retired guy here with mortgage paid off, no car payments, no other debt. Don't have $1.5M in savings, don't think I need it. S.S. more than covers monthly costs.

Please explain how you can possibly live on $1.3M if you are healthy and expect to live a long life.
