This image is flying around the web and Elon Musk just reposted it.

76% of the income tax we pay goes directly to interest on government debt.

This is not sustainable.

If the US Govt was a company it would be LONG bankrupt.

Interestingly, today is the anniversary of Bretton Woods 1.

Significance??

The Bretton Woods system established a regime of fixed exchange rates, where currencies were pegged to the U.S. dollar, which in turn was convertible to gold at a fixed rate of $35 per ounce. This system provided much-needed stability in international financial relations and facilitated the post-war economic recovery and growth. The Bretton Woods system remained in place until the early 1970s, when it collapsed due to various economic pressures, leading to the adoption of floating exchange rates. Despite the collapse of the fixed exchange rate system, the IMF and World Bank have continued to play vital roles in global economic governance.

You didn’t mention Tricky Dick. Such an oversight could be construed as a political statement. I’m sure you did not mean it that way, but the line of criminal succession is obvious.

There's also the 21+ TRILLION that's gone missing since 1996 (rough numbers, don't remember exactly) - see the work of Catherine Austin Fitts

I’m astounded This is not a major election issue. This house of cards will take us all down.

Why? Both the dems and the repubs are spenders. They don't care and they don't want to make an issue of it. That's why the real choice would be RFK Jr. imo.

What is the 'this is not sustainable' or 'if US were a company it would be bankrupt' based on exactly? If we compare tax revenue to a company's revenue, and say that (hypothetically) 76% are expenses in this case, then we get gross profit margins of 24%. How does this translate to being bankrupt?
