Essentially, being 90 days late on payments often means they are unlikely ever to be paid off. Remember, once you're late, interest rates soar, and credit card companies turn into loan sharks.

Banks are going to take a significant hit from this, not just in commercial real estate, mortgages, and car loans, but now this as well.

JP has caused a substantial amount of damage, and we will see the full impact over the next 6 to 9 months.

Why is this expensive credit card system so popular in the US ? In Europe we pay with our cards that deduct straight from our bankaccount. Simple and straightforward.

Mr. 100. Dumped BIG. 6k SATS. AND It's Gone

Most important info from that chart is the very low % of delinquency on Mortgages. When compared to 2008-10, we are far from a recession.

Actually it would be 600 billion sats. But Mr 100 is a nothing burger anyway. Maybe it is tether moving their stash around.

Yeah but wasn’t the delinquency more indicative of subprime mortgages lent to borrowers who were not qualified for them due to high interest rates. The risky loans, “subprime" mortgages, had lower initial payments but higher adjustable rates that increased significantly over time, making it difficult for homeowners to afford their mortgage payments when interest rates rose! Then the issue was exacerbated by the collapse of the housing bubble and subsequent devaluation of housing-related securities. So disagree we are already in a recession yo!!!

Hey Rising Sun. Thanks for the backup information. That’s it. It’s bloody shocking. The wife is always at pains to point out that there are plenty of genuine cases that need the public safety net, and use it during desperate times. Hell, the reason she ended up working for DWP is because she needed help back in that day when she found herself as a lone parent. It’s just that I’ve seen her generally positive and compassionate mindset take a battering lately, from the overwhelming tension that has continued to build up with cost of living worries (ie: fiat money shit-fuckery) and the number of migrants and refugees being shoved into unprepared communities. It’s no surprise to me that things are very tetchy out there on the streets of working class Britain.

Yes, the US has what you are describing…..”Debit Cards” to us. But they require first having the funds in your bank account. The crux of utilizing ongoing CREDIT cards is people taking a loan to buy stuff they don’t currently have money for and paying high interest rates on that loan. In general, this is a behavioral choice problem of the US population.

There’s another form of credit in the US called Buy Now Pay Later that isn’t being tracked by the banks and an overwhelming number of people were using it to break down their payments into smaller chunks. If it’s true that people were using this method of unrecorded credit to pay for groceries this could account for the lower percentage of people who are 90 days delinquent on their cards. Also take into account that some of the delinquent credit card debt is attributed people who have passed away. That number is on the rise this year across the globe.

Crypto is still a risky asset class, so recession fears are worrisome. It would be a great opportunity to invest for those who have dry powder on the side and are able to weather through it for several months or possibly yrs. I keep seeing so many comments from crypto holders who used up all of their cash reserves to buy the dips. Could this be the first btc halving cycle that doesn’t pan out the way previous cycles have? Will the bullrun continue to lose steam and wither downwards into an early bear market as recession fears loom and then return in 2026 after several rate cuts are behind us?

Y P

JP just issued that they will no longer be a payment option for buy now pay later... This is a sign of what's to come

RadRich

Cuts coming in , money printer gonna start , election spending , macro looks good . Think I’m putting my money on James prediction . If u have no money to buy on dip , means you packed during the depth of the the bear. I add new money in.
