$SE Sea Trade Update (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone,
I've received inquiries about my position in $SE, which I initiated nearly a year ago. I'm approaching the long-term capital gains threshold, so I'm considering two strategies: taking some profits or selling calls against my existing synthetic long position.
This trade was an experimental approach using a combination of financial metrics and the ATR model to identify the stock with the most upside potential - essentially, the most beaten-down stock at the time. A year later, the stock has nearly doubled, validating the method's effectiveness.
Key Points
Trade Rationale: The stock was selected based on:
Financial metrics analysis - solid fundamentals
ATR model for most beaten down
Identification of maximum upside potential
Current Status:
Holding period: Nearly one year on Aug 15th (tomorrow)
Performance: Stock has approximately doubled - my SL's are up 1030% so far.
Potential Next Steps:
Taking profits
Implementing a covered call strategy
Lesson Learned: While the method has proven successful, it's crucial to emphasize the importance of patience in this type of trading strategy. Remember, this approach requires a combination of thorough analysis and the willingness to hold positions for an extended period to realize significant gains. It is far easier to make real good money the longer your timeframe.
PS I will do updates like this on ENPH and BABA also... all up big
