Thank you to Sanjay for the medical info....

Everyone is taking these now. SO much so they are actually sold out in California.

While GLP-1 receptor agonists like Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy, have shown effectiveness for weight loss and diabetes management, they are not without risks and potential side effects that should be carefully considered.

As with any medication that modifies hormone signaling, GLP-1 drugs can potentially disrupt the body's natural regulatory processes. I prefer to stay well away.

GLP-1 drugs typically need to be taken long-term to maintain their effects.

If you want to lose weight, walk 10,000 steps a day and eat vegetables. No need for hormones.

Now this article was very scary... and we dont know the full impact for years to come

GLP-1RAs may cause

• Accelerated facial aging
• Loss of dermal and subcutaneous fat
• Altered adipose-derived stem cell function
• Changes in skin structure and barrier function
• Diminished facial muscle mass

Rare Cutaneous Reactions:

• Dermal hypersensitivity
• Eosinophilic panniculitis
• Bullous pemphigoid
• Morbilliform drug eruptions

While hormonal changes can influence some cancer risks, they are not a primary trigger for skin cancer specifically. However, other cancers can be triggered by hormonal changes.

Common GLP-1RAs include:

  • Exenatide (Byetta, Bydureon)

  • Liraglutide (Victoza, Saxenda)

  • Semaglutide (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy)

  • Dulaglutide (Trulicity)

That is scary, I can’t believe people risk taking drugs for weight loss. For a ‘hack’ around weight loss caffeine is a good one and eating more protein: caffeine suppresses appetite and protein has a higher thermogenic effect (requires a lot more energy to break down) plus 10k steps is always good 👍

It’s all about risk reward. Sometimes Rx interventions such as these make perfect sense. Often, they don’t.

No doubt, eating healthy and exercising daily is ideal. 100% agree. I do this and I consider myself fortunate than I am able bodied, able minded, and have the drive, the time and resources. If only it were that easy for everyone. Remember folks, empathy is powerful. Some of these comments would surprise me, but alas, they were written by humans.

Very informative stuff. Thanks Sanjay🙌🏿

Of course it affects skin -you lose weight and your skin sags. The benefits are a larger list in terms of the weight loss on joints heart and diabetes. We have a massive weight issue in the US that is killing people. I’m just glad I bought Lilly when I saw Mounjaro in the pipeline 2 years ago. It’s a great drug helping a lot of people.

Yet the vaccines are 100% safe and effective 😉 All of them
