Last week, digital asset investment products experienced outflows totaling $305 million, reflecting widespread negative sentiment across regions. This sentiment was driven by stronger-than-expected U.S. economic data, which reduced the likelihood of a 50-basis point interest rate cut, making the asset class more sensitive to interest rate expectations as the Fed approaches a pivot.
The U.S. led the outflows with $318 million, while Germany and Sweden saw smaller outflows of $7.3 million and $4.3 million, respectively. In contrast, Switzerland and Canada recorded minor inflows of $5.5 million and $13 million, respectively.
Bitcoin faced the brunt of the negative sentiment, with $319 million in outflows, although short Bitcoin products saw $4.4 million in inflows, the highest since March. Ethereum had $5.7 million in outflows, with trading volumes remaining stagnant at 15% of the levels seen during the U.S. ETF launch week.
Notably, Solana bucked the trend with $7.6 million in inflows, outperforming other assets during this period of negative sentiment. This suggests that investors are viewing Solana as a resilient option amidst broader market challenges.
